Reptilica - Chrome Feather Future CD [LENS0001] $13.00
(OUT OF STOCK  Why?)
Label: Lens Notify Me (What is this?)

Music is made in sunny Humboldt Park, Chicago, U.S.A. - - minimal equipment and gallon doses of electricity are used and enjoyed on each of the 12 tracks on the album Chrome Feather Future - - a rotating cast of characters stitch sounds into songs that itch but never truly heal - - no loyalty is paid to any one musical style - - sounds spark ideas spark sounds - - kittens licking faces, limousines crashing, busy shoppers shopping for that special someone - - these are the daily events that inspire what Reptilica does - - no far reaching theories or philosophies - just music best heard on a waterbed in the back of a van. Started in 1997, Ed Creagan branched Reptilica from Chicago band Cheerleader - - he participated in and drew inspiration from related music projects Skarekraü Radio, 30/30 Vision, The Pushers and Wilderness. “An eclectic genius with an innovative knack for blurring musical boundaries” – Rockpile

Customer Reviews:
On 2009-09-24 00:00:00, 'Don Poe, EAR/Rational Staff Reviewer' gave the following review:
This release is a blending of garage rock with that old-timey silent film music. The band may not agree with me, but I hear slight elements of cheekiness and fun in the midst of their grooves. A good blend of clear recordings using dirty gear. Distortion, vocals, rockin' drums, They transcend the typical rock sound by pulling in these other elements, maybe a the band members listened to Ennio Merricone before writing the track Queen of Luxury. Call me crazy. Who else uses an air organ/accordion, or whatever it is called, in their rock band? A 'casio-style' drum machine is the track 'Flight 0/8' with a catchy hook. Fun stuff.
