Ahab Rex - Queen Of Softcore CD [LENS0004] $13.00
(OUT OF STOCK  Why?)
Label: Lens Notify Me (What is this?)

1. Album Version ~ From the forthcoming Lens Records album ‘Blood on Blonde’ a glimpse at the new record featuring the fem fatale Brooke Cassell offsetting Ahab’s gruff bark and Martin Atkins’ (NIN, Killing Joke, PIL) boom, crash, whack. 2. Ahab Rex Remix ~ Sped up funky version, featuring additional “atomic dog” inspired vocals and beats. 3. Press Remix ~ fresh from remixing The Damage Manual, Press turns in a groovy dance mix with tongue and cheek nods to Chicago’s rich house heritage. Label mate of Ahab Rex. 4. The Countdown Remix ~ Nothing short of electric Lust! Invisible Records artists The Countdown wow with their fierce Punk/Electronica blend that sweats all over this mix. 5. Nookleptia Remix ~ Another Chicago native, Nookleptia’s unique Non Musical approach brilliantly cuts up the original.

Customer Reviews:
On 2009-09-24 00:00:00, 'Don Poe, EAR/Rational Staff Reviewer' gave the following review:
Groovy rock with a guy with a gravelly voice. This music has a lilt and bounce, as if it is rock techno. Martin Atkins from Pigface (and other) bands may have an influence on this. The Queen of Softcore is a single, it has 5 versions of the song. The Press Mix is an actual techno/drum machine version suitable for the fashion runway, and is a totally different song that only really relies on the original melody. The Countdown Remix builds like a song from the movie Run Lola Run, sneaking up and finally kicking in with an industrial rock theme. The Nookleptia remix is the most screwed up on, with odd squeltches and serious studio tweakage.
