Claire Fitch - Celocity CD (Fitch) [FITCH003] $17.00
A year in the making, Celocity crosses the boundaries of electro,
acoustic
and ambient music. Many of the tracks are simply cello, multi-tracked and
processed with many different software tools. Others bring in electronic
backgrounds that are hauntingly beautiful. It was recorded in the newly
converted, sea-view Fitchsounds studio overlooking the Cooley Peninsula in
the midst of the Boyne Valley in Ireland. Inspired by the ebb and flow of
the sea, it also charts a journey into a new life of magic and creativity.
Colourform - Visions of Surya CD (Virtual World) [Vr03]
$17.50
Visions of Surya is the third release on Virtual and a collaborative
work
between Matt Hillier from Ishq and Jake Stephenson from Optic Eye. The
album was written as an imaginary series of pipe dreams experienced by a
traveller in a strange far away land in a smoking house dreaming the day
away and drifting between this world and the invisible worlds of the
imagination. Its sound is at times eastern and exotic and evokes images of
ancient temples , enchanted landscapes and the far east. Magic carpet music
is one description we would use. The album is dedicated to Jake who
co-wrote much of the music and who moved into the invisible world himself
some time ago. Jake was instrumental in encouraging us to make music and he
got us our first label deal and really was the third member of Ishq in some
respects and so this ones' for him.
Freiband & Machinefabriek - Oahu CD (Low Point) [LP019]
$18.98
‘Oahu’ is a collaborative release between Dutch
sound artists Freiband (the
latest project of Frans de Waard, founder of the Korm Plastics label and
member of Kapotte Muziek, Beequeen and Goem to name but three) and
Machinefabriek (the ever prolific Rutger Zuydervelt). The genesis of the
project was a 90 second recording of improvised acoustic lapsteel (the Oahu
of the title) played by Martin Luiten. From this initial recording,
segments of music, each lasting 30 seconds in length, were created then
passed back and forth between de Waard and Zuydervelt over a period of four
months for further processing, editing and refinement. Finally, with a
collection of 20 of these segments, each artist composed their own 20
minute mix using these pieces. Though the nature of processing and
reprocessing applied to the initial recording of the lapsteel makes it at
times almost unrecognisable, the harmonic and melodic essence of the
instrument is retained and utilised throughout. And whilst unified by the
source material at their disposal, these two tracks have a distinct feel
and identity that manage to perfectly encapsulate the work of both artists.
Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Thad Jones, Jerome Richardson,
Jonathan Klein, Grady Tate - Hear, O Israel: A Prayer Ceremony In Jazz CD
(Trunk) [JBH025CD] $14.25
RELEASE DATE: 06-10-2008
Originally privately pressed in 1968 in minute numbers and only for
sale at
Friday night prayer concerts, Hear, O Israel has to be one of the rarest
and most extraordinary jazz recordings to come out of New York. Written by
a 17 year-old and played by one of the greatest jazz line-ups of all time,
this really has to be heard to be believed. And this is the first-ever
proper release of this extraordinary album. Back in 1968, a 17 year-old
named Jonathan Klein had written an alternative concert for Friday Night
Jewish prayers. It had been performed a few times at various Friday night
gatherings, and been received well. The decision was made by a Jewish
charitable organization to take this concert a little further and record it
properly. An extraordinary line-up was put together (we have no idea how
this came about), and the recording was made. It was pressed in very, very
limited numbers without a real label, with no catalog number and was only
offered for sale at various prayer gatherings. Without real distribution,
the LP disappeared from view very fast, and even today there is little or
no reference to it anywhere except on an obscure Herbie Hancock recordings
web site. Jonny Trunk first came across the album in the late 1990s, and
again recently in 2005. Because it is so unusual and so incredibly
beautiful, he decided to get in touch with everyone involved, and
officially licensed the recording for its first-ever worldwide release.
Point of Friction - Afterlife Dna Fingerprinting CD (Melon
Expander) [ME003] $14.50
When POINTS OF FRICTION formed in January of 1981, they had no formal
musical training (or even knowledge of "freely improvised music) and relied
on their voices and whatever else was at hand--wire mesh, sheet plastic, an
old guitar, etc. Gradually the group acquired electric instruments, toy
keyboards, multi-track tape recorders, and pedal effects, and moved toward
a more processed sound, informed by groups such as Faust, Cluster, Nurse
with Wound, Dome, This Heat, Can, AMM, Fripp and Eno, and Negativland.
After a 20-year hiatus JOSEPH HAMMER, DAMIAN BISCIGLIA (AGOG), TIM
ALEXANDER, and KENNY RYMAN reformed with MITCHELL BROWN and dropped this,
their third official release.

Aglaia - Unprofaned Twilight CD (Faria) [09470] $13.00
This is joint edition of Faria Records and Hic Sunt Leones.
The fourth cd of Aglaia is born from the previous work but, in comparison with them, it develops a wider breath directly from the background's sounds. The composition is softer and more refined. Again the sonorous world that here is explored is that one of the enchantment, of the mild sound fading. An unprofaned and inviolate twilight, where the different vibrations are balanced, without any sort of tensions. Time rolls by and space too. The sound is a natural matter and gives birth to an intense crepuscolar light. Listening to this music is like to see thousands of fine luminous rays, filtered through half-closed windows. A dance of dust in a never ending movement that catches the light around. With aglaia's sound we are in an electroacoustic microcosm full of vibrating signs.
The first of the two long compositions suggests a natural and quiet landscape. The sound's mood is a sort of perpetual tinkling, wrapped up a voice coming from the space, that observes from afar. An harmonic accordance between different reality.
The second, even though more intimate, is equally shining. Everything happens during a night where insects, spring-waters and moonlight match themselves together. A swarming midnight with underworld life.

edition of 650 pieces,
Angel of Decay - Bleeding On The Flowers CD (Bloodlust) [B!013]
$12.00
JONATHAN CANADY (DEATHPILE, URGE WITHIN, HOLLOW EARTH, DEAD WORLD,
TORTURE
CHAMBER, BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA, etc.) focuses on "heavy experimental
electronics created using vintage analog synths and other out-of-date
equipment." Heavier and more raw than Covered in Scars (Desolation
House/Relapse 2005), this with its crackling electronic sounds, seems more
insistent than ever.
Anja Schneider - Beyond The Valley CD (Mobilee) [MOBILEE005CD]
$16.00
RELEASE DATE: 06-10-2008
This is the debut full-length from Berlin-based Anja Schneider, founder
of
the Mobilee label, respected DJ and radio personality. Touring ceaselessly,
Anja has travelled the globe, bringing the Mobilee vibe to clubbers around
the world - now she invites us to travel with her to an unfamiliar setting,
Beyond The Valley. Co-produced with Paul Brtschitsch - with whom she
collaborated on the stunning 12" Loop de Mer - Beyond The Valley is more
than a collection of tracks, it's a rich, nuanced statement from an artist
ready to open up new worlds and enchanted places where the old rules no
longer apply..
Backworld - Of Silver Sleep CD (Discalcula) [09460] $13.25
This is a highly accomplished work from a talented artist with a
seemingly
effortless delivery that is at once simple and masterly in the best
(neo)-folk tradition.
The 11-track album features Joseph Budenholzer and friends including Michael Cashmore who plays 12-string guitar on 'A Shepherd's Tale' for which he also wrote the music. The other friends are Julia Kent (cello), Connie Petruk (vocals, piano), Paul Geluso (bass), Laura Cromwell (drums), and Claudia Chopek (violin). B'eirth of In Gowan Ring also contributes a recorder solo on the title and closing track, 'Of Silver Sleep', which was co-written with Julia Kent.
With a nod to psychedelic folk, Joseph's distinctive style is hallmarked by a soothing voice and twinkling guitar, but the attractive sound is often belied by dark and disturbing themes, although this CD seems less dark than some previous material.
'Hands of Ash' is a tender and moving song about the
reuniting of two ghostly lovers. 'The Sparrows' is a deathbed song
underlining the ultimate loneliness of existence as an individual human,
with shades of Wordsworth and ancient folk beliefs as sparrows fly away
with the soul. 'Melody' concerns the annual birth, death and rebirth of
crops, another archetypical theme from the age before we all became buried
in glass and concrete. And yet our insulation from the natural environment
cannot alter the reality of human futility as we are reminded by 'The
Tide', a poetic underlining of the old adage about time and tide.
Backworld - The Fourth Wall CD (Discalcula) [09461] $13.25
This is the first ever live recording of Backworld from the April 6,
2001
Bloomsbury Theatre, London, England show supporting Antony and the Johnsons
and Current Ninety Three. That particular night Backworld were Joseph
Budenholzer (vocals, guitar), Julia Kent (cello - ex-Rasputina, Antony and
the Johnsons), Paul Geluso (bass) and Todd Cohen (drums - Antony & The
Johnsons) with contributions by Robert Lee and Rose McDowall of Sorrow.
There's nothing particularly exceptional about Budenholzer's melodic,
mostly subdued gothic-folk lullabies but they do sound lovely here, the
band being perfectly in balance and in sync and the recording being crystal
clear. The near half hour set is drawn primarily from the latest two
albums, 1999's "Anthems From the Pleasure Park" and 2001's "Of Silver
Sleep". And a half hour seems about right. Budenholzer's voice and lyrics
are a bit one-dimensional and grow tiresome so the addition of
Sorrow/Coil/Current 93 chauntress Rose McDowall is a blessing for the
finest song, "The Devil's Plaything" (also recently released in 7" and CD
versions by Piski Disk). Nice stuff but surely only a pacifier for what
came afterwards with Antony and c93's sets. Budenholzer has also recently
worked with Jarboe as documented on her recent "Dislocation" CD-R ...
Bloodyminded - Plays Bloodyminded CD (Bloodlust) [B!095]
$12.00
CD edition of out-of-print cassette, first released in a numbered
edition
of 100 copies for the April 2007 BLOODYMINDED tour, then in a numbered
edition of 25 copies for the Leaderless: Underground Cassette Culture Now
exhibition at Printed Matter in New York City. Special conceptual
recordings approved by PIERPAOLO ZOPPO, himself.
Caetitu - Caetitu CD (Emanem) [EMANEM4149CD] $17.75
No description available at this time.
Calabi-Yau - Compactified CD (Faria) [09472] $13.00
Calabi-Yau (called in the names of two mathematicians (Eugenio Calabi)
and
(Shing-Tung Yau )) spaces may be that microscopic shape, deep inside the
hidden dimensions of string theory. There are many such spaces...
According to string theory, space-time isn't 4-dimensional as you might expect, but 10-dimensional. Where are the extra six dimensions? One answer is that they're "compactified": roughly speaking, rolled up into such a small space as to be unobservable at human scales.
You are in the forest, it is night, and in a moment you are in space, exploring the phenomena, for which there is no explanation and knowledge in our days...And You hear the sound of loquacious water far away from You. The sky is in front of You...You can observe all the planets to be clearly. And there are plenty of animals around You, which You've never seen before, which are so close, that they are almost touching You. Thought is equal to movement, there is no difference between them. There is only one way to understand these visions... It is possible because of «calabi-yau», spontaneous movements and feelings inside myriads of spaces...
Limited
edition of 650 pieces.
Chandeen - Teenage Poetry CD (Projekt) [09463] $13.50
Chandeen returns with another timeless jewel. As one of the originators
of
the genre that came to be known as "Heavenly Voices," Harald Löwy
remains
as chief song-writer and instrumentalist, with a new vocalist for this
incarnation of Chandeen: Julia Beyer who lends a more fragile, autumn
character to the songs. These songs sound more inspired, more intimate and
yes, in some respects more mature and developed then past releases. Julia
Beyer's sad, but strong voice stands in sympathetic contrast and floats in
concurrent harmony with Löwy's tearfully beautiful songs.
Christopher Willits - Surf Boundaries CD (Ghostly
International) [GI54] $13.25
CHRISTOPHER WILLITS and STARS OF THE LID, two American leaders of
beautiful
and innovative music, are on tour hitting 19 dates throughout the United
States and Canada. Willits, hot off his collaboration Ocean Fire with
Ryuichi Sakamoto and his Ghostly International album Surf Boundaries will
be performing new solo guitar work alongside videos he has created from his
photography.
Ciaran Byrne - Nine Lives Causeway CD (Psychonavigation)
[PSY024] $15.00
RELEASE DATE: 05-12-2008
'nine lives causeway' is the much awaited follow up to last years
'Galtrim'
CD. More lush Ambient tracks from one of Ireland's finest exponents of
electronic music. Over the past year Ciaran has been gathering rave reviews
from the likes of grand nubian, Mixmaster Morris and Irish synth pioneer,
Roger Doyle. This promises to be another superb release on the prolific
Psychonavigation label.
Cluster - Berlin 2007 CD (Important) [IMPREC181] $13.00
RELEASE DATE: 05-12-2008
Dieter Moebius: synthesizers, objects. H.J. Roedelius: synthesizers,
objects. Track listing: Part One, Part Two. Overview: Cluster was formed
around 1971 when Roedelius and Moebius left Conrad Schnitzler's group
Kluster. Along with Kluster they have had a tremendous influence on the
development of contemporary electronic music. Julian Cope has placed 3
Cluster albums in his Krautrock top 50 and The Wire included the first
Cluster album in their list of One Hundred Records That Set The World On
Fire. Along with Neu! co-founder Michael Rother Cluster formed the
remarkable group Harmonia. Between 1976 and 1979 one of Cluster's most
frequent collaborator was Brian Eno. Berlin 2007 was a monumental
performance for Cluster as it marked the first time that they had peformed
live in Berlin since their 12 hour concert in the Galerie Hammer in the
Europacenter in 1969. The performance was a massive success as a sold out
crowd cheered loudly for Cluster to return to the stage. Fortunately, the
concert was preserved for posterity and is proudly presented here on
Important Records.
Dan
Friel - Ghost Town CD (Important) [IMPREC187] $12.25
RELEASE DATE: 05-12-2008
Ghost Town is the first full-length solo release from Parts & Labor
singer/electrician Dan Friel. Characterized by its anthemic melodies,
complex electronic arrangements and huge distorted beats, Ghost Town is an
indie record the noise kids will love and a noise record that'll inspire
the indie kids to pick up some busted electronic gear and strive for
immortality. Ghost Town is where everyone can meet in the middle and freak
out about how insanely good this record is. Think Wolf Eyes playing In The
Aeroplane Over The Sea and you might be on the right track. Dan Friel has
been using toy keyboards, guitar effects pedals, walkie talkies and r/c car
remotes to make a series of instrumental electronics EPs since 2001.
Ostensibly a western, Ghost Town alternates between dense, distorted,
beat-driven epiphanies, and haunting solos from a variety of makeshift
instruments. Ghost Town also features the eye-popping artwork from renowned
print/illustration artist Shawn Reed (Racoo-oo-oon, Night People Records).
warning: if you plan on playing this in the record shop you work at during
open hours you'd better make sure you've got plenty in stock. This is one
of those records you can sell to everyone from the noise-heads in the
corner to fitness moms looking for something to work out to. Dan Friel's
Ghost Town has universal appeal. selling points: - Dan Friel's Ghost Town
record has a rare sort of universal appeal that crosses scenes and
generations. -Played shows with: Thurston Moore, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol,
Oval, The Evens, Lightning Bolt -Performed in Glenn Branca's Symphony 13:
"Hallucination City" -Performed with Damo Suzuki (of Can) - Mr. Friel is a
member of the band Parts & Labor "The music he ends up with sounds like
little else out there, a heaving mass of static beats, monolithic
distortion, and bending, diving tones... I hesitate to throw out the word
"experimental" in most cases, but here I think it's warranted, as Friel's
music is quite explicitly designed to test the sonic possibilities of a set
group of objects and explore as much of that ground as is reasonably
possible on an EP. In that, he succeeds beautifully, crafting a unique and
uncompromising sound that ultimately transcends its limitations." - Joe
Tangari, Pitchfork "Burning with ideas, he has a knack for making his cheap
drum machines, blipping remote controls and preprogrammed toys sound like
injured robots stumbling through a raging fire.... Throughout, each track
feels both organically real-time and inevitably prefabricated, giving
Sunburn an intoxicating friction, lit with the energy of bombed-out
machinery and loose-limbed brainpower." - Marc Masters, The Wire "Strange
and wonderful, and best of all, unlike anything we can think of" - Mike
Wolf, Time Out New York
Dead Raven Choir - Cask Strength Black Metal 3xLP (Weird
Forest) [WEIRD666LP] $47.50
"The most insane black metal release ever!!! Three, yes three vinyl LPs
of
the harshest sounding evil, atmospheric off-kilter black metal. Call it
black metal folk. The loudest, noisest, crazy, insane-sounding blasts of
skree with strange folky melodic undertones of banjo, cello, mandolin, and
percussion and the most frightening vocals ever dared to be recorded. Many
traditional folk songs shrouded in blasts of white noise armageddon. For
fans of twisted, unique, raw black metal with a very bent edge. Pray (no,
commit ritual sacrifice) to the underworld that your stereo survives! This
release compiles the 'Sturmf***linglieder,' 'Grand Ravishing Extravaganza,'
'Sevenfold Songs Of Death,' and 'Sheath And Knife' EPs, all previously
released in very small pressings and all long, long gone!" Limited to 999
copies on pitch black vinyl with 7 inserts in a beautiful dark forest-clad
box.
Derek Carr - The Digital Space Race CD (Psychonavigation)
[PSY025] $15.00
RELEASE DATE: 06-09-2008
Derek Carr is one of Ireland's unsung heroes of soulful techno. Derek
has
been making music for almost 2 decades now (if you include his early
experiments as a 14 year old with a Casio sampler). Following many releases
over the past 7 years on a wide variety of electronic labels now comes his
anticipated debut album for Psychonavigation Records.. 'The Digital Space
Race' compiles ten tracks of sublime electronic music that can be enjoyed
equally in the stoned privacy of your home or on the dance floor. For fans
of John Beltran,B12,The Black Dog, Carl Craig-- this is an essential
record.
Dimmer - Shining Path CD (Melon Expander) [ME004] $14.50
Live sampling pioneer THOMAS DIMUZIO and tape-loop maestro JOSEPH
HAMMER
(SOLID EYE) swallow audiences with dark explorations of sound. They
specialize in a symbiotic sound process as they continually loop, reloop,
sample and resample within an interactive feedback circuit linking both
artists. Nearly every aspect of Dimmer's live performances grace The
Shining Path, yet this is not a live document, but rather a pastiche and
reworking of everything DIMMER has accomplished in their years of
performing as a duo. Recursive circuits meld into rich and seething sonic
masses with subtle waves pulsing sound within sound. The Shining Path
suspends the listener over dim and dank planes on an aural trip spanning
and scanning from a celestial vista.
DJ
Scotch Egg - Drumized CD (Load) [load114] $13.00
RELEASE DATE: 06-09-2008
Powerful cosmic energy using the simplest tools available: 4 Nintendo
Gameboys & mixer. Not a noisy release by any means, instead a fully
activated set of lean muscular gabber pop music that stares boldly into the
sun with the jihad of a suicide vest full of gummi bears. Drumized takes
cues from older trad jazz, Earache era gabber & some of your better
ringtones.
Dominique Leone - Dominique Leone CD (Stromland) [sr002]
$15.00
RELEASE DATE: 06-03-2008
Dominique Leone wears many hats, only a few faces & has a hundred songs
that you haven't heard. And yes, he's a him. He's a songwriter, producer,
singer, lover, fighter... scratch that, he's one of a growing number of
college-educated musical auteurs with more than a slight command of pop
history & theory chops, and writing songs for joyous, infatuated people.
Perhaps some of them are a bit over stimulated. Perhaps some of them just
like good melodies & strange chord progressions that still seem vaguely
familiar. The music is catchy but ambitious; crafted but not sterile;
interesting but not pretentious. It's just a lot of f***ing fun.
Electroserge - Gimme Data CD (Normoton) [NORM029CD] $16.00
RELEASE DATE: 05-13-2008
This is the third full-length release from the data-pop duo Birgit
Lehneis
and Paul Heil aka Electroserge. After Whispertime and To Those I Hold Dear
- two straight indietronics albums - Electroserge now leave guitars and
chimes behind and take a turn on the data-highway. Machine-grooves along
the road celebrate their electro heart and nostalgic robo-cliches dot the
landscape. Evoking the classic tunes of Drexciya, Kraftwerk and
Dopplereffekt, Gimme Data sounds freshly-generated via Pacman, run through
machines driven by ideas and grounded by a cool attitude.
Endless Boogie - Focus Level CD (No Quarter) [NOQ013CD]
$13.50
"Endless Boogie began with no delusions of grandeur. They started off
as an
'old mans hobby' - just dudes jamming on riffs, locking into grooves,
finding that transcendental part of a song and stretching it into eternity.
Then they were offered a show. They played more shows. They self-released
two very limited 12"s and were called the best kept secret in New York by
Paper magazine. They toured with Dungen and Circle and were invited by
Slint to play All Tomorrows Parties. Now they've made the best rock record
to come out of New York City in years (maybe decades)."
Father Moo & The Black Sheep - Father Moo CD (Swordfish)
[SFAM001CD] $16.50
Repressed! A UK-only issue of what was previously available as a
non-distributed CDR release on the Acid Mothers Temple CDR label (later
reissued as a very limited LP on Swordfish). Jewel case packaging, with a
completely unbelievable Yod-tribute sleeve. The music is in the realm of
tranquil drone-intensive freak outs (electronics, moaning vocal sounds,
processed murk), not at all in the rocking style of Kawabata's well known
Acid Mother's Temple ensemble. A sensational artifact, presented to
perfection.
Flutwacht - Monoid vs. Stillstand CD-R (Symbolic) [09469]
$16.75
Powerlectronics and ambient noise / cold electronics. 5 tracks from
Flutwacht, and 7 from Monoid vs. Stillstand in a colloboration. CDR comes
in A5-sleeve and is limited to 200 copies.
Flying Luttenbachers - Trauma CD (ugEXPLODE) [UG13] $12.25

high-pitched noise that are as distinct from one another as spotlights
sweeping across the night sky; jackhammer clatter, jet-engine whines, and
forlorn keyboard melodies dart in and out of those huge sounds with the
grace and impunity of plovers picking a crocodile's teeth."

Grails - Take Refuge In Clean Living CD (Important)
[IMPREC190] $13.00
RELEASE DATE: 05-12-2008
Opening with a nod to Syd Barret's Pink Floyd (Piper at the Gates of
Dawn)
Take Refuge In Clean Living begins with morse code and drops into one of
the heaviest slow-burn grooves in the Grails canon. Sounding something
like
Hawkwind and Ravi Shankar scoring Bladerunner, it's lysergic and earthy
for
Grails in a new way. The rest of the record moves from blissful
Eno-inspired ambience, to epic Morricone rock hymns, to an unexpected take
on a Ventures tune that returns the listener back to the very beginnings
of
instrumental rock music. 'Take Refuge in Clean Living' sees Grails pulling
back their already-wide lens on multiple sonic horizons. Grails often take
what seems like it would sound over-ambitious on paper and make it flow
sonically in a laid-back style. The band is defined by exploration and
they've created a template for themselves where any style or method can be
ingested to reap legitimate rewards. 'Take Refuge' seems to suggest that
Grails can't run out of ideas. The touring incarnation of Grails in 2006
and 2007 included good friend and drummer Ben Nugent, allowing Emil Amos
to
switch to 3rd guitar for the band's live instrumentation. The DNA of this
'guitar-dense' line up allowed for new kinds of songs and bigger melodies.
In early 2007, the then-5-piece entered Steven Lobdell's (Faust) Audible
Alchemy again to document the new songs written with this augmented sound
-
the resultant sessions make up the record 'Take Refuge in Clean Living'.
(The group has since returned to the original 4 members.)
Hellbound Glory - Scumbag Country CD (Gearhead) [RPM081]

twang
of HELLBOUND GLORY and you will feel like you're rubbing elbows with the
likes of Merle, Waylon, David Allen Coe and Hank III. Hailing from Reno,
Nevada, Hellbound Glory is shakin' things up in honky-tonks and dive bars
across the West Coast, bringing the gospel of Scumbag Country to jaded
punk
and rock fans as they roll through town after town. (STREET DATE -

Irr.App.(ext.) - Cosmic Superimposition CD (EIE) [EIE006]
$13.75
AVAILABLE AGAIN!!! IRR. APP. (EXT)'s second installment in a planned
trilogy that draw from the philosophical ruminations of Wilhelm Reich is
a single 45-minute track of revolving organic fluctuations that wax and
wane in accordance to a well-tuned internal logic. Glassine ambient
passages of processed environmental noise slide into the sustained
harmonics of bowed metals which in turn couple with the off-kilter phase
pattern of an exhaust fan whose motor is not quite properly aligned. All
the while gurgles from streams, clatter from subterranean actions, singing
bowl reverberations, and dark elliptical cycles of blackened electronics
pock the stately progressions of Cosmic Superimposition's dronemusik
foundation. Principle IRR. APP. (EXT) designer M.S. WALDRON has toiled in
the foothills of California for well over a decade. Recently, Waldron has
found himself in the grasp of Nurse With Wound as one of the auxiliary
sound alchemists for Steven Stapleton's forays into live productions. He
has also worked with the Icelandic electro-absurdists Stilluppsteypa and
the damaged minstrels from Faun Fables.
Jacob Lindsay/A. Mendoza/D. Smith/Weasel Walter - Jus CD
(Balance Point Acoustics) [BPA013] $12.25
A high-energy offering of knotty, detailed improvisation from a
quartet of
young Bay Area improvisers. An excellent recording of bizarre, ever
shifting textures, dynamics and timbres featuring the entire clarinet
family, guitar, bass and drums. A must for fans of Derek
Bailey/Incus/Company style improvisation with a modern, heavy edge.
Jahrtal - Lichtbuch CD (Ahnstern) [09467] $16.75
After the CD-single "Zwei Lieder" now follows the first album by the
Austrian Psychedelic-Folk artist Jahrtal. The man behind Jahrtal is Ewald
Spiss, a artist from Tyrol, who might be known by some of you from the
early days of Industrial music (early 80ies). Lichtbuch is a true treasure
of Psychedelic Folk Music, a unique collection of traditional folksongs
from the Alps, musical versions of poems by Joseph von Eichendorff,
traditionals from England and Scotland in german translation and even a
traditional Tibetan prayer. Lichtbuch is a absolute authentic Folk album
with great heart and pure soul. The songs and balads on Lichtbuch have
mainly a sad-optimistic mood, they shall delight the listener, as well as
touch him thoughtfully. Jahrtal is non-academic, honest music, which
delivers the message of affection and momentaryness, of cause and effect.
A
wide and balanced instrumentation gives the album a unique touch. Besides
a
guitar, which the artist reconstructed himself to a Sitar (Gzitar),
Jahrtal
uses acoustic guitars, electric guitars, lute, banjo, dulcimer, gzitar,
harpzither, psalter, flute, duduk, schalm, violin, organ and bird's
voices.
The main influences of Jahrtal are in the end-60ies and early 70ies with
bands like Witthüser & Westrupp, Spirogyra and C.O.B., but a
comparison to
the most beautiful balads of Current 93 is inevitable as well. 12 tracks /
75 Min.
Jazkamer - Artbreaker CD (Smalltown Superjazz) [stsj135]
$15.00
RELEASE DATE: 06-03-2008
Jazkamer is always dealing with different kinds of noise &
noise-music.
This album has 58 tracks and is 17 minutes long! This time the Jazkamers
has gone as far with rock & punk as humanly possible. We guess this is
their homage to Japan's noisecore & their love for early Boredoms, Melt
Banana, Hanatarash & Zeni Geva. But we don't know. Just listen for
yourself.
Joseph Hammer - Dynasty Suites CD (Melon Expander) [ME002]
$14.50
SOLID EYE's JOSEPH HAMMER cites receiving more than one AM radio
station at
the same time and an episode of '70s TV show Land of the Giants, the one
where astronauts used tape loops to thwart alien tyrants, as a couple of
his musical influences. His unique utilization of consumer audio
technology, tape loops, samplers and analog synthesizers to creates
compelling and varied musical expressions. Since 1980, he has performed
and
recorded with Points of Friction, Dinosaurs With Horns, Solid Eye, Blue
Daisies, Steaming Coils, Debt of Nature (which became Medicine), Vector 3
Niner, Paramecial Wedding, Kitten Sparkles and Dimmer. Dynasty Suites is
Hammers first solo CD, 51 minutes of real-time tape loops certain to
scramble your eggs.

Mad EP - Bass.hed CD (Ad Noiseam) [adn90] $16.75
RELEASE DATE: 04-28-2008
Probably one of the albums on Ad Noiseam which took the longest to
complete. Begun years ago, Mad EP's fourth full length album sees this
highly praised musician focus on low frequencies and everything which
comes
with them. Syncopated beats, guest vocals by Shadow Huntaz, MC Equivalant
and others and the multi-instrumentation which has made Mad EP famous are
all brought back on this artists's heaviest and most direct album to date.

In 1996, NG5361 (also of SIGILLUM) and MARK SOLOTROFF (BLOODY MINDED)

the

Mob 47 - Dom Ljuger Igen Ep CD (Communichaos Media)
[CDMOB47Dom] $10.25
Sweden's infamous MOB 47 are back with their first official new
recordings
in 20 years! Formed in 1982 MOB 47 were contemporaries with Anti-Cemex and
played a similar style of breakneck hardcore punk. Between 1982 and 1987
they released several cassettes, the famous Kaernvapen Attack 7-inch and
appeared on numerous compilations. Members of MOB 47 also played in other
classic '80s punk bands such as AGONI, CRUDITY, ROeJERS, DISCARD and
PROTEST BENGT. After 1987 the band went mostly silent. In 2005, the band
officially reformed and in May of 2006 played their first live gig in more
than 20 years. Since that time they have played on numerous other
occasions
and even toured the UK. This new EP is eight songs of classic Mob 47,
picking up right where they left off 20 years ago. Same raw guitars,
machine gun drums, and pissed off vocals that made this band the stuff of
legends.

CHAD
WEEKLEY) REDEYE JEDI drops a superior funk mix culled from a gang of hot
Stax platters. Redeye is credited for assisting with parts of the score
for the 2005 John Singleton movie Hustle & Flow, was the head instructor
for the Scratch Academy Exhibition during the Memphis 2006 NBA Rhythm n'
Rims, coordinated the opening showcase of the Hip-Hop Immortals Exhibit at
the STAX Museum of American Soul Music in Memphis, and produced and
remixed
the music for the exhibit's podcast--the first ever associated with the
Stax Museum.
Religious Knives - Live At Bigjar CD (Archive) [ARCHIVE43]
$14.00
RELIGIOUS KNIVES represent the former output of DOUBLE LEOPARDS, and
the
output from this quartet is anything but. Raw and dirty garage rock for
keyboards, bass, guitar and drums that sounds more comfortable being off
the Doors early demo days box set rather then a no fun offshoot band.
Comes
in a panel sleeve graphic work by now frequent archive art collaborator
CHASE MIDDAUGH. Pressing of 600 copies.
RSAG (Rarely Seen Above Ground) - Organic Sampler CD
(Psychonavigation) [PSY026] $15.00
RELEASE DATE: 07-14-2008
RSAG aka Jeremy Hickey is a multi-instrumentlist who records, performs
and

experience - sound and vision hand in hand - a multi-media rock and roll
cornucopia; the future is here - look and listen.
Seelenthron - Wege CD (Steinklang) [09466] $16.75
After their outstanding debut-album "Heimkehr" and the CD-single
"Steingeworden", finally appears now the second fulltime-album of the two
former DIES NATALIS protagonists Norbert Strahl and Alex Meier. "Wege" is
a
classical Neo-Folk album in best tradition. Some songs mirror a sad,
sometimes even gloomy picture of the world inside and outside of
ourselves,
other songs are just filigree Folk-balads, as beautiful and dreamy as one
could imagine. Nevertheless all nine songs always stand strong and
powerful, showing a path to the listener, never to turn back and never to
lose his courage. Martial rhythms drum stirringly to neoclassical
compositions, united with impassionate piano- and guitarplaying and
electronic sounds. The challenging lyrics on "Wege" deal with the stages
in
one's life, our path through time and the questions for the meaning and
the
purpose of life. 9 tracks / 40 Min.
Seitan - D-beat Hippie Lover CD (Inget Javla Chafs)
[CDSEITADBea] $7.00
This fourteen-track CD is the debut release by SEITEN, an intensely
furious
d-beat hardcore band from Gothenburg, Sweden. Musically Seitan play raw
and
brutal hardcore punk in a style that pays homage classic early '80s
d-sound. On top of it all are guttural style vocals that give this an
over-all sound not too dissimilar to the first couple of Sore Throat
albums. While the message herein is totally political, there is an
obviously humorous undertone to everything band does, keeping it
interesting and setting them apart from all the other d-beat clones.
Shit & Shine - Kuss Mich, Meine Liebe CD (Load) [load102]
$13.00
RELEASE DATE: 06-09-2008
Eight sprawling sonic puddles of Gibby's spittoon soaked puddle juice
emerge from the hot flaps of England's Shit & Shine. Combing a dense
percussive chug & a megaphoned fart helmet the band emerges with a sound
closest to the neck ache of powerful metallic headbang & the distorted
totality of cheap speaker decay. The band has been known to employ up to
16
separate drummers & 12 feet of vertical bass amplification, so they are no
strangers to erecting long standing brown waves of sound, an onslaught of
bass boomed rock totality.
Shonky - Time Zero CD (Freak N' Chic) [FNC002CD] $14.75
RELEASE DATE: 05-13-2008
This is the debut full-length release from Shonky (Olivier Ducreux).
Honing
his taste within the Parisian dance scene via Dan Ghenacia's infamous
Sunday "Kwality" Batofar parties, and 12"s on labels such as Mobilee,
Resopal Red and Sub Static, Shonky now lives and DJs in Berlin. As Shonky
himself describes, "Time Zero is kind of techno/hypno, with many roots
coming from Detroit techno and San Francisco psychedelic house; always
super hypnotic. Ultimately, I did what I do the best: danceable tracks."
Sic Alps - A Long Way Around to a Shortcut CD (Animal
Disguise) [ADR078CD] $11.25

previously unreleased track) are included here in this convenient,
remastered 26 track compilation."

Haino on
the double disc Archive release Animamima. The 22-piece unit is back with
this swarm-of-locusts gem of a release. Graphic and design work on the
release by STEPHEN O'MALLEY features an outer cover that is a four-color
silkscreen, beautifully executed by ALAN SHERRY of Siwa records. Inside is
a gorgeous photographic collage. Pressing of 700 copies
Skullflower - Desire for a Holy War CD (Utech) [URCD015/URSK1]
$14.50
RELEASE DATE: 04-28-2008
Limited edition of 750. First volume in the URSK Series. Three panel
jacket
with original art by Stephen Kasner. SKULLFLOWER "Desire for a Holy War"
Desire for a Holy War is mayhem piled on top of mayhem piled on top of
squalls of caustic feedback. Furies spitting oaths of shrouded vengeance
from ancient tongues. Plague riders dealing death on mounts of venomous
ether, hooves pounding the wild earth. Matthew Bower may have reached a
watershed with last year's Abyssic Lowland Hiss (Heavy Blossom) but it is
with Desire that he has come to conquer. Never has Skullflower sounded so
severe or remorseless. URSK SERIES. Utech Records has invoked a connate
soul in visual artist Stephen Kasner to develop a second fine art series
of
cd releases for the label. The series will comprise nine volumes of 750
copies each over the course of 2008 beginning in April. Kasner has
committed the bulk of his next year's output to painting original and
exclusive canvases. His subject matter has yet to be disclosed but the
artist has spoken in general terms of a new direction he wants to explore
in his work. A package unique to the series has been designed to highlight
Kasner's residuum and the accompanying music. The foundation of the series
is the belief that a visual device can bind a disparate body of music in a
meaningful way. The genesis of this idea was first explored with
photographer Max Aguilera-Hellweg in 2007 and the result was Utech
Record's
acclaimed Arc Series. Fruit borne from that venture has led to this stab
at
further examination. Kasner immediately saw value in the theory and agreed
to help cultivate and refine it.
Sleep Museum - Anasthesia CD (Bloodlust) [B!104] $10.25
Three tracks of rhythmic, darkly melodic synth- and drum
machine-driven
music, with unrepentantly eccentric vocals, and dour lyrics; utterly
contemporary, yet also reminiscent of certain late-1970s and early-1980s
"cold" music--a hint of Joy Division mood and a dose of electronic-era
Death in June. The fourth track is a more experimental vocal piece, while
the fifth track is a nearly 31-minute long experimental analog synth
piece,
closer to the M.B.-style of dark electronics.
Sleep Museum - Core CD (Bloodlust) [B!096] $10.25
Four tracks of true minimal synth music; the fifth track is a
27-minute
long experimental analog synth piece, dark electronics a la M.B.
Solid Eye - Voyage To See What's On The Other Side CD (Melon
Expander) [ME001] $14.50
JOSEPH HAMMER, RICK POTTS and STEVE THOMSEN have each spent 25-plus
years
exploring various avenues of music coined by their 1970s collective, the
LOS ANGELS FREE MUSIC SOCIETY (LAFMS), as "avant-schmaltz." With an ear
for
unsettling detail, SOLID EYE suspends the listener in a lurching, oozing,
hallucinatory river of sound that unfolds with its own peculiar sense of
internal logic. Neither fish nor fowl, their aesthetic impulses bear scant
resemblance to the dominant modes and methods that govern the domain of
much contemporary experimental music. This surrealist cabal immerse
themselves in the creation of a pata-physical metaphysic, a slippery,
elusive territory where the profound is coaxed from the ludicrous and the
seemingly innocuous is inverted into the preternaturally haunting... a
cosmology where the absurd, the uncanny and the unsettling coalesce, the
result being distilled into a sense deforming, reality eroding alchemical
elixir.
Soul Cannon - Kaboom CD (SDID) [SLCN01] $12.00
More than just a band, SOUL CANNON is a vision that encapsulates a
wide
range of musical genre and tradition with a high realm of artistically
driven lyricism and composition skills. On their debut album, Kaboom, each
of the eleven tracks develops organically, unfolding original musical
perspectives on function and form to distill a unique sound that resonates
from the intersection of bands such as The Roots and Deerhoof. Using a
juxtaposition of bothered dissonance and sweeping soundscapes to provide
the consummate framework for penetrating beats and gripping lyrics, the
raw
structural beams of the music are exposed for all to see. Continually
pushing to create a sincere expression of the intricate elements that make
up any human experience, Soul Cannon combines an unorthodox approach to
harmony with traditional song forms.
Spontaneous Music Ensemble & Orchestra - Trio & Triangle CD
(Emanem) [EMANEM4150CD] $17.75
No description available at this time.
Spyweirdos - Epistrophy At Utopia CD (Ad Noiseam) [adn91]
$16.75
RELEASE DATE: 04-28-2008
Greece's Spyweirdos, who received a lot of attention in the recent
years
for his sharp and subtle glitchy electronica, pairs up this time with the
two improv / free jazz musicians John Mourjopoulos and Floros Floridis.
The
three give birth to a surprisingly human, warm and catchy game of clicks,
horns and strings. Deep, abrasive, but funky at parts: no surprise that
the
live rendition of this album have received excellent reviews.
Supersuckers - Songs All Sound The Same CD (Hall of Records)
[HOR1110] $13.00
LAST CHANCE!!! A reissue of the hell-fired rock'n'roll classic from
these
bad-ass bungholes of butt-kicking blast. All eleven tracks from the
original version, plus two mystery bonus tracks.

history (2006's A Lesson In Crime EP), Newmarket, Ontario's TOKYO POLICE
CLUB delivers its debut album Elephant Shell. Elephant Shell lands roughly
a year and half after A Lesson In Crime, which has sold over 30,000 copies
and garnered accolades from Entertainment Weekly ("We can hardly wait for
the full length" A-), Rolling Stone ("If only all young guitar bands were
smart enough to rock out this fast, banging out seven first-rate mod-punk
party starters in barely more than sixteen minutes"), Interview, Blender,
Nylon and The New York Times among others.

be
really named "smoking music": it is delicate made melodic ambient
compositions (9 Smoking Zones). To creatÑu this album Vadim used
keyboards,
clarinet, samples and piano. It is a good listening for everyone who likes
misty ambient music and the creative work of Brian Eno or Harold Budd.
Limited edition of 500 pieces
Various Artists - Wilde Jager 2CD (Percht) [09464] $20.25
WILDE JAEGER is a unique compilation of Alpine Folk Music, Pagan
Ritual
Music and authentic field-recordings from the darkest woods and deepest
valleys to the highest peaks of the sacred Central- European Alps, as well
as of other pagan and alpine regions in Europe and the USA. Wilde Jaeger
is
accompanied by an astonishing 24-page booklet, housed in a highest-quality
6-sided digipack with cover- paintings by Markus Wolff (Waldteufel).
WILDE JAEGER is the first part of MEN, MASKS & MYTH, which is a audio- visual project of Sturmpercht and friends, which intends to bring alpine mythology and alpine paganism to a (world)wide audience. Part two will be a large book, to be published towards the end of 2008. Men, Masks & Myth will be a special and unique book, which will guide you to the otherworld of the Alpine myths, legends and traditions. In the German-speaking countries (and only there!), just a few dozen exceptional works about this thematic complex exist, works that are mainly characterized by their academic approach to the subject matter. Men, Mask & Myth will differ from these other publications in two main ways: First and foremost, this book will be a visual feast for the eyes and a book that stirs heart and soul. It will be less a compendium of factual details and folkloric essays and more of a collection of images that speak for themselves, of snapshots of places and times shrouded in legend. Even so, the book might even astound an initiated expert (and not only visually), for during the course of our research we have uncovered quite a few sources that have remained hidden from the probing eyes of academia. The second singular and essential aspect of the book is that it will be a bilingual German and English edition, finally making a comprehensive work on Alpine mythology available for anyone regardless of whether they have mastered the German language.
Men, Mask & Myth will be a holistic, visual work with a great love for detail and the "small things" without seeming dry or academic. The book will be complemented and completed by a CD of authentic field recordings of customs and rites from the valleys and peaks of the sacred Alps.
Good Luck, come in! Bad Luck, stay out! Outside the house, the Wild Hunt goes about!

Myanmar's Voice broadcasts nearly 24 hours a day across much of the
country, playing an assortment of Burmese classics; USDA pledges; and
recitations of articles published by the state-run The New Light of
Myanmar
Times. Due in part to the near-blackout of all foreign music on state
airwaves, the few FM stations that do exist in Yangon and Bago divisions,
transmit a rather bizarre assortment of music from 7am to 9pm: synth
ballads, hip-hop jingles, and internationally popular songs re-recorded in
Burmese. This release also features assorted tracks recorded between
1994-2002, highlighting many wonderfully strange and beautiful pop, folk,
and classical music styles. There are vast resources easily available to
anyone interested in learning more about Burma or the USDA; this recording
is simply intended to showcase the extraordinary sounds rarely heard
beyond
its borders.

Alfred Jarry - The Supermale Book (Exact Change) [ECJARRY2]
$12.25
"Andre Marcueil, gentleman and scientist, has the ability to make love
an
infinite number of times in succession. Like a mock Jules Verne, Jarry
describes the manner in which this Supermale proves his claim; after 82
times with a woman, attending doctors finally hook him up to a machine
instead, with whom he merges in the book's - and the Supermale's - final
climax. Barbara Wright's excellent translation, first published by New
Directions, has been long out of print."
Bill Cosby - Badfoot Brown & The Bunions Bradford Funeral &
Marching Band CD (Dusty Groove) [DGA3010CD] $11.50
"No funny jokes here, as the album's an all-instrumental jam from the
mind
of Bill Cosby - one of the few sets ever cut by his short-lived Bunions
Bradford Band! The record's quite different than anything you might expect
from Cosby - quite dark at times, with a really freaked-out, messed-up
quality that might almost be described as psychedelic funk."
Bonniwell Music Machine, The - Beyond The Garage CD (Sundazed)
[SC11030CD] $17.25
1995 release. "Even though Sean Bonniwell's Music Machine began life
with
Talk Talk, a genre-defining garage stunner, they never looked back,
stuffing their sophomore effort with gnarly fuzz blasts like 'The Eagle
Never Hunts The Fly' and 'Double Yellow Line.' Like Elvis Presley and Jim
Morrison, Bonniwell possessed a baritone voice that turned little girls to
butter. Twenty juicy cuts ramrodded with vintage rarities and never before
heard tracks!"
Brothers Unlimited - Who's For The Young CD (Fallout)
[FO2096CD] $16.00
RELEASE DATE: 06-10-2008
Recorded by a 14-strong collective of professional musicians from
Muscle
Shoals and Memphis, this smoldering collection of psych-tinged soul and
funk first appeared in 1970. Featuring strong melodies, tight rhythms,
fuzzy guitars and superb organ work (or, as the original sleevenotes put
it, "real fine, funky, hard-driving, up-tempo, contemporary, down-home,
nitty-gritty solid soul"), it's been a legendary rarity for years and
makes
its long-overdue CD debut here.
Clark-hutchinson - A=MH2... Expanded 2CD (Sunbeam Records)
[SBR5048CD] $21.25
RELEASE DATE: 05-27-2008
As virtuoso musicians and members of Sam Gopal's Dream,
Clark-Hutchinson
(Andy Clark and Mick Hutchinson) were well-known to regulars at legendary
London clubs such as UFO and Middle Earth when they decided to branch out
as a duo. Recorded in two intense overnight sessions in May 1969, A=MH2 is
a scorching blend of jazz, raga, blues and psychedelia that has long been
established as one of the key recordings to have emerged from the UK
psychedelic underground. It's presented here as a 2CD set, together with
their March 1969 recording debut, an unreleased collection of acid blues
that features some equally stunning musicianship. The package comes
complete with detailed notes and previously-unpublished photos, making it
the most comprehensive edition of this groundbreaking music ever
assembled.
Denton Welch - In Youth Is Pleasure Book (Exact Change)
[ECWELCH] $14.00
New 2008 edition (originally reissued by Exact Change in 1994), with
added
cover blurb from Richard Hell! "Delicacy of perception is precisely the
same thing as delicacy of description. Denton Welch is like a British baby
Proust in his astounding grasp of his own (usually 'mundane') experience.
Nothing much happens in his books but the most wonderful writing." -
Richard Hell
Dillard & Clark - Fantastic Expedition... CD (Water)
[WATER221] $14.00
The 1968 debut, originally released on A&M, from one of the first and
finest L.A. country-rock outfits. Comprised of GENE CLARK, hot on the
heels
of his departure from the Byrds and his debut solo release (with the
Gosdin
Bros.), and DOUG DILLARD, the virtuosic banjoist/guitarist of the
Dillards.
Gene Clark is perhaps the most underrated songwriter of the 1960s and this
could very well be his finest post-Byrds moment. Featuring help from
fellow
Byrd Chris Hillman, future Burrito Brother "Sneaky" Pete Kleinow, and
future Burrito/Eagle Bernie Leadon, this is an absolutely essential piece
of L.A. country-rock history.
Elis Regina - The Voice of Brazil CD (El Records) [ACMEM143CD]
$16.50
"Graced by the exquisite arrangements of Roberto Menescal, The Voice
of
Brazil combines Elis Regina's masterful 1968 LP, Elis, Como e Porque
('Elis, How and Why') with recordings made a year later in London where
Menescal teamed with Peter Knight."
Erik Satie - Socrate - 6 Nocturnes CD (Timpani)
[TIMPANI1141CD] $19.75
1993 recording, featuring Billy Eidi (piano) & Jean Belliard (tenor).
"Socrate"; "Six Nocturnes, Pour Piano"; "1er Menuet." Jean Belliard
(tenor); Billy Eidi (piano).
Gilberto Gil - The Sound of Revolution 1968-69 CD (El Records)
[ACMEM142CD] $16.50
"The Sound of Revolution combines Gilberto Gil's brilliant 1968 and 69
Tropicalia albums, Frevo Rasgado and Cerebro Electronico; joyous,
extraordinarily inventive pop music made against a background of terrible
political unrest in Brazil and in the shadow of both imprisonment and
eventually exile both for Gil and his friend Caetano Veloso."
Joakim Skogsberg - Jola Rota CD (Tiliqua) [TILAR5011CD]
$25.75
"First time official reissue of one of Sweden's greatest and sadly
unknown
psychedelic treasure is this sole album by Joakim Skogsberg out of 1971.
Tiliqua acquired the exclusive rights to this gem and this reissue comes
with a remastered sound taken directly from the original master tapes and
with the kind assistance of Mr. Joakim Skogsberg himself. The album Jola
Rota is about Joakim Skogsberg's love for the grandiose Swedish
landscapes,
which has put its imprint upon his songs. On Jola Rota Joakim
single-handedly created a minimal psychedelic and acid folk masterpiece
infused with incredible soundscapes of derailed fuzzed out violins,
soaring
guitars, rattling hand percussion, droning vocals and pulsating bass
rhythms, complimented by Joakim's 'jolor,' a special singing style with
roots in an ancient Swedish tradition of folk music. ."
John Hill - 6 Moons of Jupiter CD (Finders Keepers) [FKR018CD]
$19.75
"Finders Keepers raid the vaults once again to bring you this
previously
unreleased concept album from John Hill featuring Susan Christie (FKR007),
Moog pioneer Walter Sear, jazz legend Gerry Mulligan and Jimmy Valerio.
Finders Keepers uber legend John Hill proves his calibre once more as we
rescue this previously unreleased masterpiece from the proverbial tin.
Pulling together a veritable smorgasbord of US legends, John has enlisted
the help of none other than Susan Christie, Moog pioneer Walter Sear, jazz
legend Gerry Mulligan and Jimmy Valerio to produce this progressive
break-heavy monster, once doomed never to see the light of day."
Joseph Pusey - In My Lady's Chamber CD (Mandrax) [MX801CD]
$22.75
"High level psyche-folk from 1977, Californian private release but
with a
sound that has more to do with UK stuff, with some Eastern influenced
parts."
Medium Medium - Hungry, So Angry CD (Cherry Red) [CDMRED182CD]
$16.50
"Medium Medium were originally signed to Cherry Red in 1981 and were
one of
the first signings of then A&R man Mike Alway."
Monte Dunn and Karen Cruz - Monte Dunn and Karen Cruz CD
(Fallout) [FO2099CD] $16.00
As one of the leading U.S. session guitarists of the 1960s, Monte Dunn
will
need no introduction to fans of Tim Hardin, Fred Neil, Richie Havens and
many others. In partnership with his wife, New Orleans native Karen Cruz,
he also released this glorious collection of mellow folk-rock in 1969,
with
contributions from a galaxy of fellow session stars including Bruce
Langhorne (guitar), Paul Griffin (keyboards), Eric Weissberg (banjo) and
Hal Blaine (drums). It makes its CD debut here, complete with its original
press release, and is an essential purchase for all fans of 1960s
folk-rock.
New Age, The - All Around CD (Red Lounge) [RD006CD] $19.75
"This is what can be called one of the major sensations in the raga
influenced psychedelic/acid folk field. Also some of the earliest
recordings in this genre and hitherto unreleased. After the release of the
Light of Day album in 1966 the now legendary Pat Kilroy and Susan Graubard
went on with playing and creating music together. What you hear on this
album is what they recorded for Warner Brothers in the summer of 1967, a
true groundbreaking adventure of the highest order."
Noel Harrison - Noel Harrison CD (Rev-Ola) [CRREV247]
$15.00
Noel Harrison was many things, actor, singer, director, composer,
carpenter, Son of Rex and star of the Girl From Uncle opposite the
delectable Stefanie Powers (purrr ). He sang the Oscar-winning the
Windmills Of Your Mind, the theme tune to the 1967 smash movie The Thomas
Crown Affair, and released a string of albums in the 1960s and 70s before
landing his own TV show, Take Time. What is probably less known is that
his
self-titled 1966 sophomore long-player is virtually a tribute to Bob
Dylan.
so enamored was Harrison of the him, that he cut no less than four Dylan
tunes and casually interspersed them with the obligatory-forthe- day
Beatles. His take on It's All Over Now, Baby Blue actually fared quite
well
when lifted as a single. So here is the album. A snapshot of an innocent
time when be-suited pop stars acted and polo neck-clad TV stars recorded
Dylan songs in an almost outmoded school big band style. Tracklist: It's
All Over Now / God Bless The Child / She S A Woman / Love Minus Zero /
Nothing But A Fool / Mr Tambourine Man / Young Girl (Of Sixteen) / To
Ramona / Much As I Love You / Like Strangers / All Blues / Tomorrow Is My
Turn
Os
Lobos - Miragem CD (Mandrax) [MX802CD] $22.75
"Next stop, Brazil. 1971 psychedelic album that was released by the
Top
Tape label (same as Modulo 1000), Os Lobos Miragem is a great album; some
distorted psychedelic guitar here and there, organ and piano arrangements,
some acoustic guitar."
Phil Minton - No Doughnuts in Hand CD (Emanem) [EMANEM4148CD]
$17.75
No description available at this time.
Plain Jane - Plain Jane CD (Fallout) [FO2098CD] $16.00
This enigmatic U.S. quartet made only one album, which originally
appeared
in 1969 and has barely been heard since. Recently described in the Miami
Sun Post as "a vanished masterpiece of charming rural innocence," it's a
classy combination of laid-back acoustic rock, power pop and gorgeous
vocal
harmonies, dappled with some tasty fuzz guitar. With an ever-growing
reputation amongst psych aficionados, it finally makes its CD debut here.
Savage Resurrection - Savage Resurrection CD (Mod Lang)
[ML007] $13.50
The official reissue of this classic Bay Area acid rock LP originally
released on Mercury in '68 gives you the entire ten-track original LP,
plus
three previously unreleased tracks with extensive and informative liner
notes by ALEC PALAO (who included a Savage Resurrection track on the Love
Is The Song We Sing: San Francisco Nuggets 1965-1970) and a forward by
NICK
SALOMAN (BEVIS FROND). Includes the original artwork beautifully restored,
as well as never before seen photos and more.
Steve Reich - Music For Mallet Instruments Voices & Organ CD
(Hungaroton) [HUNG31358CD] $16.50
1995 release. Includes the pieces "Music for Mallet Instruments,
Voices and
Organ" (1973), "Music for Pieces of Wood" (1973) & "Sextet" (1985).
Performed by Amadinda Percussion Group (Károly Bojtos, Zoltan
Rácz, Zsolt
Sárkány, Zoltán Váczi); Ágnes Dobszay,
Erzsebet Hajdu, Zsuzsanna Lukin
(voices); Aurel Holló, Tibor Nemes, Balázs Papp, Benedek
Tóth (mallet
instruments); Bela Faragó (electric organ); Barnabás Dukay
(claves); Károly
Binder, György Oravecz (piano, synthesizers).
Van Duren - Are You Serious CD (Water) [WATER220] $14.00
VAN DUREN is pure power pop. He spent time in the Memphis trenches
with the
big boys (Big Star, Chris Bell, The Scruffs), and knows his way around a
hook and a melody as well as any of his heroes from Todd Rundgren,
McCartney, Emitt Rhodes and on to Badfinger. He went to high school with
Jody Stephens, auditioned for Big Star after Bell's departure, and was in
the short-lived but legendary Baker Street Regulars with both those cats.
If you think Big Star never got the props they deserved, well they're the
Beatles compared to Mr. Duren. This is his debut album, originally
released
in 1977 on the Big Sound label, and he is no also ran, he is the real
deal,
power pop at its finest.
Various Artists - Nigeria Disco Funk Special CD (Soundway)
[SNDW010] $17.50
The Sound of the Underground Lagos Dancefloor 1974-79. An amazing
collection of heavy dancefloor grooves from urban Lagos in the '70s--hot
and driving slices of funk, disco and boogie that show just how vibrant
the
music scene was in one of West Africa's most populous and culturally
diverse cities. Includes rare tracks from famous musicians like BONGOS
IKWUE & THE GROOVIES and MONO Mono's JONI HAASTRUP, as well as selections
from cult bands like ASIKO ROCK GROUP, SJOB MOVEMENT and JAY-U EXPERIENCE.
Other artists include: THE SAHARA ALL STARS, T-FIRE, VOICES OF DARKNESS
and
DR. ADOLF AONOTU.
Various Artists - Perfect Unpop Peel Show Hits & Long-lost
Lo-fi Favourites Vol.1 1976-80 CD (Cherry Red) [cdmred352] $15.00
Perfect Unpop is based on a dangerous assumption: that if you were
ever
touched by John Peel s enthusiasm for spiky 70s pop, then by now you've
probably found yourself a copy of the Undertones Teenage Kicks . The same
applies to raw, beautiful singles by the Buzzcocks, Joy Division, the
Clash
and the first five Fall albums none of which are included here. Instead,
here s a collection of Peel favourites a little less likely to be
anthologised, eulogised, or to crop up on your iPod. Anyone who ever
cuddled up alone at night with Peel will recognise the glee with which he
pounced on these devil may- care, slightly broken pop songs. Indie
also-rans these bands may have been in the Sting n Bono scheme of things,
but add up all these flashes of underdog genius, and here s a CD to rival
any other from the era of the questionable stringy tie. Although we re
missing the voice that always seemed to be speaking to us alone, the
unearthing of these Nuggets from the play-lists will recreate something of
the atmosphere of the Peel Show for his under-cover legions, and hopefully
some young Johnny-cum-Latelies as well. Make no mistake; we're talking
all-time highlights here where six seconds of dead air would be followed
by
a sheepish, slightly breathless admission that Peel had been off bopping
around the studio! Tours Language School / Vibrators Whips And Furs /
Subway Sect Ambition / Young Marble Giants Final Day / Kleenex Hedi's Head
/ The Bears On Me / Wreckless Eric Whole Wide World / Swell Maps Real

(Numero Group) [NUMERO020CD] $24.25

Georgia,
the Tragar & Note labels are the latest Numero Group unearthings to join
the landmark Eccentric Soul series. Spread out over two discs, Eccentric
Soul: The Tragar & Note Labels is a ridiculously thorough survey of Jesse
Jones' twin labels that operated out of Atlanta from 1969-1977. Featuring

Richard Cook, Chuck Wilder, the Four Tracks, The Young Divines, Alice
Swoboda, Franciene Thomas, Langston & French, and ten other equally as
obscure artists."
Various Artists - We Can Fly Volumes CD Box (Psychic Circle)
[PSYCHBOX001CD] $51.50
RELEASE DATE: 05-27-2008
Following constant demand, the Psychic Circle label is delighted to
announce the forthcoming numbered, limited repressing of the legendary We
Can Fly series in a 5CD boxed set. Amongst the best psych and beat
compilations ever put together, each volume is a mind-blowing treasure
trove of mod, beat, acid rock and pop from the 1960s, and comes housed
inside a slipcase card replica of its original artwork. Featuring familiar
names such as The Smoke, Shocking Blue and Eire Apparent alongside obscure
heroes such as The Mickey Finn, Cherry Smash and the Gnomes of Zurich,
each
volume has been compiled and sequenced by the legendary psych musician and
Psychic Circle label-head, Nick Saloman (The Bevis Frond). Presented here
complete for the first time with a detailed booklet, featuring updated
band

Walker Brothers - Take It Easy With... CD (Water) [WATER219]
$14.00
The British debut for this Los Angeles trio, originally released in
1965.
Not actually brothers, the group of SCOTT WALKER, JOHN MAUS, and GARY
LEEDS
made it big in the UK with beautifully orchestrated pop ballads in the
same
vein as those other non-siblings, The Righteous Brothers. Covering tracks
from Burt Bacharach, Randy Newman, David Gates, and Bob Dylan, this is a
classic debut and the world's first introduction to one of pop music's
most
celebrated eccentrics, Scott Walker.
Warner Jepson - Totentanz And Other Electronic Works 1958-1973
2CD (Melon Expander) [ME005] $16.50
WARNER JEPSON filled over 200 reels of quarter-inch tape full with
electronic sounds at the San Francisco Tape Music Center, Mills College
and
The National Center for Experiments in Television. Some were used as
soundtracks for theater productions and art films, some were heard
ephemerally at art galleries, parties and "happenings" in the late '60s
and
early '70s, but only the soundtrack to Totentanz, a theater work by CARLOS
CARVAJAL, was ever released (300 copies on LP in 1971). Melon Expander's
double-CD reissue of that LP includes plenty of other pieces unheard by
anyone in the past thirty years--late '50s musique concrete experiments;
rhythmic, prepared-piano-and-tape pieces; and sprawling, meditative sound
paintings done on the 100 and 200 series Buchla synthesizers. With liner
notes by the composer.
Yellow Hand - Yellow Hand CD (Fallout) [FO2097CD] $16.00
Recorded in 1969, this superb rural rock collection has been described
as
"an extra Buffalo Springfield album" because it includes, for mysterious
reasons, six rare songs by Neil Young and Steven Stills. These were
composed and demoed during Buffalo Springfield's heyday, but not released
by them. Elsewhere there are three tracks penned by leader Jerry Tawney
and a classy cover of Delaney & Bonnie's "God Knows I Love You." With
tasty
guitar leads and harmony vocals throughout, this lost gem is a treat for
all fans of West Coast rock.

Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Thad Jones, Jerome Richardson,
Jonathan Klein, Grady Tate - Hear, O Israel: A Prayer Ceremony In Jazz LP
(Trunk) [JBH025LP] $14.25
The decision was made by a Jewish
charitable organization to take this concert a little further and record
it

Alexander Roland - Balungan 12 inch (Karmarouge) [KR033EP]
$10.75
At 17 years-old, Alexander Roland releases his second 12" on
Karmarouge.
"Balungan" is ethnic, driven, and minimal, with many roots and elements
coming from gamelan music. "Nada Irama" feels like a river cruise through
a
tropical rainforest accompanied by a delicate minimal melody. The clever
use of dubby vocals, hypnotizing liquid sounds and the groove conjure up a
mystical temper that smoothly trips you out. Balungan is a breath of
psychedelic spirit that floats to distant worlds.
Alexi Delano & Tony Rohr - Sour Impressions 12 inch (Frankie
Records) [FRANKIE031EP] $11.50
"The well known producers Alexi Delano & Tony Rohr teamed up for our
pleasure and produce here in their Sour Impressions EP. Two outstanding
pieces of funky minimal techno. A1. 'Discoteca Butt' is an exciting bunch
of quirky sounds and raw synth with an unpredictable way - crazy and quite
efficient on the floor with no doubt a masterpiece! On the flip, B1. 'Mind
Of Its Own' combines heavy distorted raw synth loud kick sub bassline
plenty of subtle bleepy sounds darky and weird - great unpredictable
atmosphere. No more to say than Sour Impressions is absolute must!"
Pressed
on white vinyl.
Alton Miller - Full Circle 12 inch (Yore Records) [YRE008EP]
$10.75
Detroit's Alton Miller has issued more than a hundred recordings on
Serious
Grooves, Peacefrog, R2 Records, Octave Lab, and others. Full Circle
distills the Yore credo with authentic, old-school house and techno. In
"Time Waits," a bright flute glides over a swaying Latin-funk pulse spiced
with congas, shakers and a soulful male voice. Driving tech-house rhythms
anchor "Way of the Drum" and "Song for Beatriz" is an entrancing
Latin-jazz
swing. The rich material on Full Circle is overall the deepest you can
find.

ready to open up new worlds and enchanted places where the old rules no
longer apply..
Antislash - We Are the Copy and Paste 12 inch (Circus Company)
[CCS027EP] $10.75
Paris-based trio Antislash release their third 12" on Circus Company,
and
is perfectly representative of their sound, and a blender full of
influence. You'll find minimal funk house on "Grillepain," with a
beautiful long and deep break. On A2, there's some more freaky, rolling
groove with "And Dance For You." On the B-side, comes "Croc," the more
nervous of the tracks. Finishing out, "Cockpit" is a beautiful moment of
deepness, with a Farben flair.
Dan Friel - Ghost Town LP (Important) [IMPREC187-1] $14.50
RELEASE DATE: 05-12-2008
The first pressing of this LP is limited to 500 copies with the first
200
copies on transparent red vinyl. Ghost Town is the first full-length solo
release from Parts & Labor singer/electrician Dan Friel. Characterized by
its anthemic melodies, complex electronic arrangements and huge distorted
beats, Ghost Town is an indie record the noise kids will love and a noise
record that'll inspire the indie kids to pick up some busted electronic
gear and strive for immortality. Ghost Town is where everyone can meet in
the middle and freak out about how insanely good this record is. Think
Wolf
Eyes playing In The Aeroplane Over The Sea and you might be on the right
track. Dan Friel has been using toy keyboards, guitar effects pedals,
walkie talkies and r/c car remotes to make a series of instrumental
electronics EPs since 2001. Ostensibly a western, Ghost Town alternates
between dense, distorted, beat-driven epiphanies, and haunting solos from
a
variety of makeshift instruments. Ghost Town also features the eye-popping
artwork from renowned print/illustration artist Shawn Reed (Racoo-oo-oon,
Night People Records). warning: if you plan on playing this in the record
shop you work at during open hours you'd better make sure you've got
plenty
in stock. This is one of those records you can sell to everyone from the
noise-heads in the corner to fitness moms looking for something to work
out
to. Dan Friel's Ghost Town has universal appeal. selling points: - Dan
Friel's Ghost Town record has a rare sort of universal appeal that crosses
scenes and generations. -Played shows with: Thurston Moore, Yeah Yeah
Yeahs, Interpol, Oval, The Evens, Lightning Bolt -Performed in Glenn
Branca's Symphony 13: "Hallucination City" -Performed with Damo Suzuki (of
Can) - Mr. Friel is a member of the band Parts & Labor "The music he ends
up with sounds like little else out there, a heaving mass of static beats,
monolithic distortion, and bending, diving tones... I hesitate to throw
out
the word "experimental" in most cases, but here I think it's warranted, as
Friel's music is quite explicitly designed to test the sonic possibilities
of a set group of objects and explore as much of that ground as is
reasonably possible on an EP. In that, he succeeds beautifully, crafting a
unique and uncompromising sound that ultimately transcends its
limitations." - Joe Tangari, Pitchfork "Burning with ideas, he has a knack
for making his cheap drum machines, blipping remote controls and
preprogrammed toys sound like injured robots stumbling through a raging
fire.... Throughout, each track feels both organically real-time and
inevitably prefabricated, giving Sunburn an intoxicating friction, lit

Darkstar - Need You/Squeeze My Lime 12 inch (Hyperdub)
[HDB010EP] $9.75
RELEASE DATE: 05-13-2008
On their first release for Hyperdub, Darkstar donate two slices of
juicy,
tingling, infectious vocoder love that will have you leaking oil
everywhere. "Need You" showcases their refined ear for a catchy melody - a
vocal earworm with some serious robot romance and silicon sadness. UK
garage meets Daft Punk meets Roger Troutman, or a body-popping 1982
Burial.
"Squeeze My Lime" is a tangy synthesis of dub and hip-hop from another
dimension. Darkstar has the Hyperdub seal of freshness.
Dead Raven Choir - Cask Strength Black Metal 3xLP (Weird
Forest) [WEIRD666LP] $47.50
"The most insane black metal release ever!!! Three, yes three vinyl
LPs of
the harshest sounding evil, atmospheric off-kilter black metal. Call it
black metal folk.
This
release compiles the 'Sturmf***linglieder,' 'Grand Ravishing
Extravaganza,'
'Sevenfold Songs Of Death,' and 'Sheath And Knife' EPs, all previously
released in very small pressings and all long, long gone!" Limited to 999
copies on pitch black vinyl with 7 inserts in a beautiful dark forest-clad
box.
Dead Western - Dead Western 7 inch (Weird Forest) [WEIRD040EP]
$5.75
"Dead Western plays the type of music that makes genres obsolete. It
is not
that DW does the cross genre pollination clusterbarf, but that Troy
Mighty's sounds exist outside of any one (or two or five) genres. Perhaps,
just perhaps the music recalls the mellow, introspective side of Current
93
or the druggy downer folkishness of Legendary Pink Dots, but that is
stretching things as much as claiming that Troy's voice is a melted
version
of Bing Crosby. Yes, there are elements of downerism and croonerdom in
Dead
Western, but DW goes deeper than weird and depressing. There is something
beautiful in this bizarre world. Definitely not for the orthodox, but also
far from being so out there that the music is incomprehensible. I am very
much taken with this record." -Scott Soriano, Z-Gun. Limited to 500
hand-crafted copies on clear vinyl with die-cut, full color sleeves.
Death Set - Around The WorldO 7 inch (Counter/Ninja Tune)
[COUNT011] $7.50
Around the World is the first official single off THE DEATH SET's
Worldwide
album (available April 22). The limited-edition one-sided 7-inch features
two blistering future-punk masterpieces on Side A, and a killer etching of
their infamous three-eyed tigerhead logo on the flip. After tearing shit
up
at SXSW this year, The Death Set is continuing the party all summer long
touring with BONDE DO ROLE. Check with your sales rep for all the dates.

Scotch Egg - Drumized LP (Load) [load114-1] $14.50
RELEASE DATE: 06-09-2008
Powerful cosmic energy using the simplest tools available: 4 Nintendo
Gameboys & mixer. Not a noisy release by any means, instead a fully
activated set of lean muscular gabber pop music that stares boldly into
the
sun with the jihad of a suicide vest full of gummi bears. Drumized takes
cues from older trad jazz, Earache era gabber & some of your better
ringtones.
Endless Boogie - Focus Level 2xLP (No Quarter) [NOQ013LP]
$16.50
"Endless Boogie began with no delusions of grandeur. They started off
as an
'old mans hobby' - just dudes jamming on riffs, locking into grooves,
finding that transcendental part of a song and stretching it into
eternity.
Then they were offered a show. They played more shows. They self-released
two very limited 12"s and were called the best kept secret in New York by
Paper magazine. They toured with Dungen and Circle and were invited by
Slint to play All Tomorrows Parties. Now they've made the best rock
record
to come out of New York City in years (maybe decades)."
Experimental Products - Prototype 2xLP (Vinyl On Demand)
[VOD051LP] $36.50
"A 12" vinyl, double record set containing the music of EXPERIMENTAL
PRODUCTS. If you are a long time collector of 80s indie minimal synth
looking to fill out your catalog or a novice interested in starting one
up,
there is no better place to start than with EXPERIMENTAL PRODUCTS. A
synth
duo from Philadelphia/Northern Delaware USA, members Mark Wilde and
Michael
Gross produced 8-track gear recordings, then had their music pressed to
vinyl."

Flutwacht - Fiebertentakel 7 inch (Touettetape) [09468]
$16.75
The newest release from Flutwacht, at this time as 7". One
rhythm'n'noise
track as it`s best in the vein of Esplendor Geometrico, the other is
monotone and minimal. Limited and handnumbered to 300 copies, with a real
photo glued on the front of the cover.
Gerechtigkeits Liga - Per Ignem Ad Lucem 2xLP (Vinyl On
Demand) [VOD052LP] $42.50
Inlcudes DVD. "Gerechtigkeits Liga is the band/project which evolves
around
Till Brüggemann. In the early 80's GL travelled to London to meet
up with
Domnik Guerin of Twin Vision/SPK. Dominik introduced them to Graeme
Revell
and Brian Williams of Lustmord, who were running Side Effects Records and
both of them decided to release an album by GL. Two more GL tracks were
also released on the seminal compilation Vhutemas Archetypi, which also
featured groups like Laibach, Lustmord & SPK. The band is known for
their
mystical, almost martial and epic sounds, which can easily upset the
listeners emotions."
Goz Mongo Alliance/Inyurmania - IYM LP (Pripuzzi)
[PRIPUZZI002LP] $25.75
"A split-LP with two of Swedens finest industrial bands. Same members
in
both groups. The three members are old fans of the analog sound, old
machines and the way they behave, and don't behave. Perfect and
fascinating
mixture between old-school-industrial, avantgardisch NWW-like-Stytle and
early Minimalsounds as Clock DVA and Cabaret Voltaire."
Grails - Take Refuge In Clean Living LP (Important)
[IMPREC190-1] $17.50
RELEASE DATE: 05-12-2008
LP is limited to 1000 copies packaged in a deluxe heavy duty tip-on
style
jacket with a 5th color spot gloss and bonus poster. First 200 copies are
on purple vinyl. Opening with a nod to Syd Barret's Pink Floyd (Piper at
the Gates of Dawn) Take Refuge In Clean Living begins with morse code and
drops into one of the heaviest slow-burn grooves in the Grails canon.
Sounding something like Hawkwind and Ravi Shankar scoring Bladerunner,
it's
lysergic and earthy for Grails in a new way. The rest of the record moves
from blissful Eno-inspired ambience, to epic Morricone rock hymns, to an
unexpected take on a Ventures tune that returns the listener back to the
very beginnings of instrumental rock music. 'Take Refuge in Clean Living'
sees Grails pulling back their already-wide lens on multiple sonic
horizons. Grails often take what seems like it would sound over-ambitious
on paper and make it flow sonically in a laid-back style. The band is
defined by exploration and they've created a template for themselves
where
any style or method can be ingested to reap legitimate rewards. 'Take
Refuge' seems to suggest that Grails can't run out of ideas. The touring
incarnation of Grails in 2006 and 2007 included good friend and drummer
Ben
Nugent, allowing Emil Amos to switch to 3rd guitar for the band's live
instrumentation. The DNA of this 'guitar-dense' line up allowed for new
kinds of songs and bigger melodies. In early 2007, the then-5-piece
entered
Steven Lobdell's (Faust) Audible Alchemy again to document the new songs
written with this augmented sound - the resultant sessions make up the
record 'Take Refuge in Clean Living'. (The group has since returned to
the
original 4 members.)
Grouper - Wide LP (Weird Forest) [WEIRD027LP] $16.50
"Grouper is Liz Harris and this is her second album, Wide. Submerged
in
this music, a vast pasture forms near a great sea just before dawn. The
early morning vapors were everywhere hovering just above the ground. Soon
the sun swells up and the vapors transmogrify into a tempest of hornets.
The hornets envelope the sun with impressive fervor, but it melts them
into
haze again and the vapors migrate out to the sea. Grouper has
collaborated
with Jandek, Xiu Xiu, Ilyas Ahmed, Six Organs of Admittance, Jorge
Behringer, Badgerlore, and others. This is the vinyl edition of the CD
released on Free Porcupine Society." Limited to 1000 copies with
beautiful
tip-on style single pocket gatefold jackets featuring photography by
Peter
Harris.

Health - Heaven 12 inch (Flemish Eye) [FE015LP] $11.50
With their heart-stopping tribal beats and dramatic tones, HEALTH,
will be
making a new push aimed towards the DJs with the release of their new 12"
single, which features the track "Heaven" and some very danceable remixes
of it. The remixes come from NARCTRAX (of Tokyo) and PINK SKULL (of
Philadelphia), who do HEALTH justice with their takes on "Heaven".
Heckmann - Las Vegas/Neon Grave 12 inch (Acid Fuckers Unite)
[AFULTD014EP] $11.00
"With big support from Richie Hawtin/Ricardo Villalobos/Tobi
Neumann/Onur
Özer/Monika Kruse/Gergor Tresher/Karotte. Though the last Heckmann
'Silverscreen' is still rotating on the decks of the planet and in the
cases of the great entertainers, he strikes again with his brand new
series
called 'Las Vegas!' It will be a story of three 12"s that will lead to a
complete CD album with extra tracks to complete the whole. The main track
'Las Vegas' is rushing in like a storm and is rocking as if there was no
tomorrow. Fat beats, fat bassline and countless little far out effects,
that will tickle your synapses big time. The second track 'Neon Grave'
takes the story further and will lift even the last man on Earth with its
electro-Latino feel, illuminating bassline and the Heckmann style
effect-arrays!"
Hugg & Pepp - Smuggeli Krook 12 inch (Dahlback Recordings)
[DAR014EP] $11.50
"'Smack' tuddi krookli smock. Smacky Pepp sminky Hugg krooken krack!

[FKR018LP] $25.25
"Finders Keepers raid the vaults once again to bring you this
previously
unreleased concept album from John Hill featuring Susan Christie
(FKR007),
Moog pioneer Walter Sear, jazz legend Gerry Mulligan and Jimmy Valerio.
Finders Keepers uber legend John Hill proves his calibre once more as we
rescue this previously unreleased masterpiece from the proverbial tin.
Pulling together a veritable smorgasbord of US legends, John has enlisted
the help of none other than Susan Christie, Moog pioneer Walter Sear,
jazz
legend Gerry Mulligan and Jimmy Valerio to produce this progressive
break-heavy monster, once doomed never to see the light of day."
Kode9 & The Spaceape - Konfusion 12 inch (Hyperdub)
[HYP007EP] $9.75
Kode9 & The Spaceape return with their first fresh collaboration
since
2006. The dub instrumental of "Konfusion" is a breezy, almost
horizontally-reclined groove that drops like a ton of gold bricks wrapped
in silk. This version was recently vocalized by a chorus of cloned
Spaceapes via a glitching, interstellar walkie-talkie. A warm draft from
a
summer to come.
Lau Nau - Nukkuu LP (Locust) [LOCUST111LP] $18.00
180 gram gatefold vinyl version. "Naukkarinen manages to take a
million-and-one risks while keeping things subtle, understated,

Meat Beat Manifesto - Autoimmune 2xLP (Planet Mu) [ZIQ202]
$0.00
RELEASE DATE: 04-28-2008
Autoimmune is the new full-length from seminal electronic band Meat
Beat
Manifesto. Led by sound sculptor and producer extraordinaire Jack
Dangers,
the band continues to evolve, with their their tenth album, a masterpiece
of dubstep and electronica, pushing musical boundaries further than ever.
"I feel closest to the dubstep trend," says Dangers. "I feel like dub has
always been part of my sound." On Autoimmune, guest vocalist Daddy Sandy
makes an appearance on "I Hold the Mic!" and the techno-tinged "Spanish
Vocoder" touches on Dangers' early techno roots. "Every record is
different," he explains, "and in this record I focused on what I like to
do
versus what other people like me to do: beats, bass and distortion." Meat
Beat Manifesto's musical inventions have generated a long string of
influential, futuristic classics, including tracks such as "God OD,"
"Psyche-Out," "Helter Skelter," "Radio Babylon," "Edge of No Control,"
and
"It's The Music." The single "Prime Audio Soup" (from the album Actual
Sounds and Voices) was featured in the sci-fi fantasy blockbuster The
Matrix and on its platinum-selling soundtrack.

all those who want to get there: Terminus, Foundation's capital city.
Deep
space sounds and hypnotic grooves create the foundational sound
atmosphere
as The Model envisaged it. Five cuts that redefine the concept of sci-fi
techno and herald the upcoming debut album by The Model on Underl_ne."

Paul Kalkbrenner - Bingo Bongo 12 inch (Bpitch Control)
[BPC172EP] $9.75
Paul Kalkbrenner presents two killer tracks for BPitch: "Bingo Bongo"
and
"Schwere Ware." The title track moves non-stop. Bundled with a
minimalistic, hypnotic groove, the dancer is literally grabbed by the
scruff of his neck and given a good shaking. "Schwere Ware" ("Heavy
Ware")
is a phat stomper and pure Kalkbrenner. There's nothing more to say.
Ripperton - Leonor's Lanugo 12 inch (Perspectiv Records)
[PSPV012EP] $10.75
No description available at this time.
Ryo Murakami - Down The Sky 12 inch (Poker Flat) [PFR095EP]
$10.75
Tokyo's Ryo Murakami presents Down The Sky, coolly influenced by old
school
house and recent European forays into night music. Ryo demonstrates a
heavy
aptitude for stripped-down futurism, with staccato, jilted beats joined
by
layers of padded synth structures, looming somewhere between light and
darkness. Greek maestro Argy creates a stunning hi-tech remix, complete
with dub-influenced chord stabs and tripped-out washes of delay. "Coke"
is
a stronger, peak-time groove that never lets up, with layers of
spaced-out,
pitching fx. Brain-tingling.
Sarah Goldfarb - Panenka 12 inch (Toys For Boys) [TFBR013EP]
$11.00
"The mysterious Goldfarb (Jean Vincent Luccini) has been raising hell
for
the last year or so with releases on Dumb Unit, Treibstoff, Curle, and a
roof lifting remix for Christian Quast on Obsolete Recordings. However
Luccini/Goldfarb has been passionate about house and techno since
completing his studies in Cinema in 1994, a year that just a handful of
people on the entire planet have any memories of."

Smash TV - Locomotive Breath 12 inch (Bpitch Control)
[BPC170EP] $9.75
Holger Zilske isn't a dark horse in the scene of electronic music. As
Smash
TV, he has always instigated the masses with his ecstatic, technoid
live-sets. This 12" really breathes new life into the dancefloor. Both
songs consist of minimal, striking beats - the first boasts elaborate
percussion and kicks asses with specially-modulated bass. "Breath Me"
gives
us the creeps. The accords create an enthralling harmony, which finds its
climax within an apocalyptical break.
Solar & Poppcke - Grounded 12 inch (Ostwind Records)

Soulphiction - The Chocolettes One 12 inch (Musik Krause Ltd)
[MKRLTD024EP] $12.25
Three killa rhythm-isms from Soulphiction, full of nutritional value
and
whole grain groove. This is music for emotional dancefloors. "Maoamba" is
a
wonderful Afro-jazz dervish, pure magical madness for the moments when
everything simmers and spins. "Rise" is a deep, jazz-filled slider that
creeps under the skin. "Jungle AD" features careening and rolling bass
swells. A clear declaration that states: "music without bass is stupid!"

rock album than a psychedelic one, yet still essential and still Os
Mutantes.
Parliament - Up For The Down Stroke LP (Casablanca)
[NB7002LP] $10.25
Exact reissue of the 2nd Parliament album, originally released 1974;
this
is the chronological followup to the Osmium album. Produced by George
Clinton, featuring the Parliament group w/ Bootsie Collins, Gary Shider,
Cordell Mosson, Eddie Hazel, Bernie Worrell, etc. "Kicking off with one
of
prime funk's purest distillations - the outrageously great title track,
with a perfect party chorus line and uncredited horns (presumably the
Horny
Horns were involved somehow) adding to the monster beat and bass - Up For
The Down Stroke finds Parliament in rude good health." -All Music Guide
Parliament - Chocolate City LP (Casablanca) [NB7014LP]
$10.25
Exact reissue of the 3rd Parliament album, originally released 1975.
The
Casablanca follow-up to Up for the Down Stroke. " This album is 100%
funk,
all the way through. The early eclecticism is abandoned for jam after
rump-shakin' jam. While it makes for a great party record, it doesn't
make
for the Funk Mob's greatest work of art, but it is certainly a good time.
The album is solid from beginning to end, and even if it sounds a bit
derivative of other funk acts, it doesn't matter much because of the raw
talent of Bootsy & Bernie, the two people who completely dominate the
album." -Rob Clough
Parliament - Mothership Connection LP (Casablanca) [NB7022LP]
$10.25
Exact reissue of the 4th Parliament album, originally released 1976.
"The
definitive Parliament-Funkadelic album, Mothership Connection is where
George Clinton's revolving band lineups, differing musical approaches,
and
increasingly thematic album statements reached an ideal state, one that
resulted in enormous commercial success as well as a timeless legacy. The
musical lineup assembled for Mothership Connection is peerless: in
addition
to keyboard wizard Bernie Worrell; Bootsy Collins, who plays not only
bass
but also drums and guitar; the guitar trio of Gary Shider, Michael
Hampton,
and Glen Goins; and the Becker brothers (Michael and Randy) on horns;
there
are former J.B.'s Fred Wesley and Maceo Parker (also on horns), who were
the latest additions to the P-Funk stable." -All Music Guide
Samadhi - Samadhi LP (Vinyl Magic) [VM124LP] $31.50
"A sort of supergroup, as most of their members came from well-known
bands,
Samadhi were formed after the split of Raccomandata con Ricevuta di
Ritorno
by singer Regoli and guitarist Civitenga, along with keyboard player
Sabatini (from Free Love and Kaleidon), Aldo Bellanova from Teoremi on
bass
and drummer Ruggero Stefani (L'Uovo di Colombo), and two other members.
The album, from 1974 and their only record released, mixes very good prog
influences with some jazz and even pop, the best of the seven tracks
being
the closing L'ultima Spiaggia with religious text. New vinyl reissue with
the original artwork, label replicas and remastered sound." Gatefold.

"Contains earliest Tracks from 77-81 plus Tracks from the
Terse-Releases
Earbidden, Clean, the long lost Side 3-Tape, Blubberknife,Cheesecake and
various other tracks from 83-85 To subscibe this treaure it is best to
state what Tom Ellard had to say: ?And here we have it - the ultimate
produce of the new millennium. A box of vinyl discs with music from as
much
as thirty years ago. Could something express any less faith in the
future?
My guess is that we seek to capture some 'purity' that has since been
encrusted with quibbles. It's a hopeless fetish that leads in an ever
contracting spiral - music is born continuously and defies attempts to
capture it in decorative tombs. Nevertheless. We have here a very
decorative tomb. Music made from 1977 onwards by people who would be
identified for a time as 'Severed Heads'. Buy two because they will wear
out."

1999 release. "These Phoenix, Arizona freaks performed musical

your head in a tree shredder."
