- Up, Down, Charm, Strange, Top, Bottom CD (Cronica) [Cronica031~2008]
$21.59
“Up, Down, Charm, Strange, Top, Bottom” is our
seventh full-length release,
and the third in Crónica. The four tracks in this CD are composed
from
studio, live and field recordings that span a period of five years in our
work, influenced by the various collaborations we developed over that time.
61 and 62 were performed live in several venues and in various development
versions since early 2006. Some of the collaborators found their way into
the compositions as “sampled guests”, as bits of
sound collected from live
performances or studio work. Their presence is both a testimonial of the
crossing (or forking) paths and a hommage to those musicians that
contributed to our ongoing work in progress. Building a CD like this, a
studio composition, is perhaps much like sculpting, constructing a fixed
and closed relationship between parts; it is also like photographing,
framing a certain composition from within its vaster surroundings. It is
like editing a documentary, shifting the focus from the individual pieces,
found or produced, towards their connections, balances and compositions. It
sometimes feels like the work of a mechanic or a watchmaker, in which
individual pieces are tooled to work in a much larger and complex system.
When working on “Up, Down, Charm, Strange, Top,
Bottom”, we found ourselves
between formats, between different possible models for the realization of
this fixation of sound. What should a CD be? Should it be the registration
of a piece (or of several pieces) in a canonic form? Should it be a device
for the recreation of a multitude of pieces, where each playback may yield
a new becoming of a composition, where each listening act, with its
different, personalized and unique focus, shapes the sounds, combing them
in individual interpretations, as when reading a poem out loud? All
representation is false, therefore, concrète music does not aim to
represent or to convey anything in a romantic sense, using the music as a
medium to transmit anything other than itself. Francastel: A work of art is
not an imitation of reality: it cannot take the place of reality; a work of
art does not excite the same sensations as nature. McLuhan: The medium is
the message. Negroponte: The medium is not the message. @c: The message is
the medium and the moment. The CD is not communicating a live performance
or an idealized composition, rather, the CD is itself, and will become
music each time it is played, to everyone and everywhere it is so.
“Up,
Down, Charm, Strange, Top, Bottom” is one more step in finding
our way in
music, looking for something we can’t really define. Explorers,
we. Finding
through doing, acting and doing.
Blackfilm - Blackfilm CD (Spectraliquid) [slq002] $15.42
Hiding his face as well as his real name, even more interesting
questions
arise when somebody attempts to get into Blackfilm's complicated music
structures. Starting off in a somewhat soundtrack perspective, Blackfilm
slowly builds up an incredibly dark environment, in which fearsome
ambiences co-exist with film-noir references. Evolving from downtempo
electronic music to orchestral paroxysms and, insanely, passing from
down-pitched nothingness to frozen urban landscapes, it becomes inevitable
to resist. Let yourself sink in the abyss...This second release, carrying
the same title with the composer's name, is the very first full-length
album of this incredibly talented artist who experts in combining modern
day electronic music with classical music references, while remaining
absolutely original. Highly recommended for those who enjoy acts such as
Amon Tobin, Portishead, FSOL as well as intelligent dark electronic music.
Dale Berning - The Horse and Camel Stories CD (Flau) [FLAU03]
$17.50
The Horse and Camel Stories is a collection of soundtracks by dale
berning.
Track 1 to 14 were originally compossed for Hiraki Sawa’s film
Going Places
Titting Down, a Hayward Gallery/Bloomberg Artist Commission. These tracks
are released as The Horse Stories on vinyl on Bo'Weavil Recordings in 2006.
For the soundtrack dale used sounds belonging to the country house and
garden in which Sawa filmed - water running in the upstairs bathroom; rain
water dripping on the stones, sparkling water in a glass, the wind-chime
and the clock and the record player... And then the sounds of music boxes
being played. At the core of all dale berning’s sound work lies
a deep
interest in ideas of aliveness, of space and the awareness of time passing,
of breathing and being still and of listening. And of the possibility of
grace. The Horse and Camel Storiesis included 5 bonus tracks."flock" is a
soundtrack for a film by Stephanie Caw and the soundtrack for another film
by Hiraki_Sawa: Trail, which was at the Yokohama Triennale 2005. It is
composed of 3 tracks entitled "walking a circle", "caravansérail"
and "a
hree-pane window".all beautiful compositions are all variations on the same
theme. Her delicately music is for the fans of Colleen, Oval, John Hudak
and Mira Calix.
Davor Mikan - Tauschung CD (Cronica) [Cronica030~2007]
$21.59
These pieces were developed in the last four years. A mixture of
algorithmic and handmade music. I am using generative graphic-tools
together with granular systhesis to transform sound. After 4 years, the
distance to this music is completely lost. This paralyzes my thinking. When
I try to have thoughts, they seem to be like a foreign substance. And
totally out of place. By the way, also emotions. Finally I had searched my
notes and correspondece of the last years for thoughts who are coherent
with the development of this music. They are text tracks, not in the way of
listening — as long as they are read, as a hint to the character
of the
space from out of which the music emerged.
Dorosoto - Hypnotic Gyre CD-R (I, Absentee) [IA001] $10.75
Artist also signed to U-Cover in Europe, as "Forrest" alias. EP of five
exclusive new tracks of spacey, semi-ambient songs. Reviewed by Vital
Weekly and Textura, to be stocked by U-Cover in Europe. Hand-made packaging
on high quality printed CD-R. Limited editon.
Duka - Wrong Dream CD (Duka) [03-8666/1] $12.50
The Wrong dream is a collection of nine great instrumentals made by a
Balkan artist Duka. The influnce of a different generes is obvious. In some
kind of a electronic New Age/Ambient music, Duka puts together classical
music, rock, jazz, blues and Balkan folk sounds. That fine mix make unique
atmosphere which is dedicated to listeners with refined taste.
Earzumba - Vivo! CD (Absurd) [hrysalida01] $13.00
out of the blue striked the idea of handling a surprise birthday party
in
xanthi to celebrate the birthday of a close friend last december 07...
being foxed of whom to invite to perform and whom for a dj set we were
intoxicated by the sounds of 'bestia infernal' a super blaster of earzumba
so without 2nd thoughts an email to christian dergarabedian was sent
resulting a pure freaked-out 4 day mayhem in the city of xanthi ...on one
hand the ever mindblowing almost 'soundtrack' like performance of christian
@ the city's folk museum and after the stellar dj set of mr. overdub @ the
bar 'kokori' set our souls on fire!!!! & upon our return while discussing
w/ christian about life on the road did the idea of this release strike...
blended also w/ his performances at m.a.m.b.a. (buenos aires) & flue (wien)
makes it a pure bizarre coctail of sounds, from his soundtrack like
dialogues / effects to more a la 70's synthetised prog or 'funky'(?) sounds
this is another stunning ascent/descend to earzumba's disillusioned
world!!! why don't you step into it?
Geskia - Silent 77 CD (Flau) [FLAU05] $17.50
The stunning debut album by Geskia’s "Silent 77",
isunquestionably a
masterpiece of Japanese underground hip hop and breakbeats. Silent 77 is
hugely inspired by a picturesque setting sun that has been imprinted into
Geskia's musical mind. The awe-inspiring magnitude of evening sun ray that
covered a quiet town where the curtain of night was slowly falling down,
is remarkably reproduced in his dazzling energized beats and noisy
beautiful pad. Geskia, through his distinctive music style, beautifully
reinterpreted, with strong heartfelt emotion, the silent speed and
soundless energy that relayed by the overwhelming yellowish sunbeams and
the contrasted loneliness of the little town. Many of these sophisticated
inner feelings of human and complex musical interpretations are expressed
precisely by mesmerizing programming skill possessed by Geskia. As you will
soon discover, Silent 77 is a brilliant testimonial by Geskia, who is a
'77er, that "silent" can be wildest loudness that evoke our feelings!(RIYL:

Awake - The Core CD (Ultimae) [inre031] $13.25
RELEASE DATE: 05-15-2008

Mall Security - Things I Thought Of And Made CD-R (I, Absentee)
[IA003] $17.00
Debut full-length of Steve Lutes. Recently got a strong review in Vital
Weekly, and was included in their weekly podcast. Professionally printed

Ollo - Remixes CD (12 Apostles) [APCD04] $14.50
Remixes of tracks from the If If album by the likes of Faux Pas, Hot
Cock,
Dsico & Neotropic The second album from Sydney’s Ollo, The If
If, doesn’t
disappoint; it’s a strange and imaginative collection of
anti-pop songs
that uses simple, melodic electronica to create trance-like soundscapes. -
ROLLING STONE Sounding a bit like David Gahan or Morrissey if either of
them had an ounce of humility left. Crowfoot and Lars Chestra want to make
some nice, enjoyable music, and at that, they succeed fabulously –
PopMatters.com It's rare that a duo blends the heavily layered jamming of
Can with the downtempo groove of Massive Attack, but Ollo succeeds with
flying colors. On their second full-length, these Australian
multi-instrumentalists serve up a handful of Kraut jams, incorporating
spastic live drums, wah-pedaled guitars, and funk bass from space. If it's
not the trippy guitar solos on "Summer Salt" that weave you into the boys'
interplanetary web, it'll be the always-shifting synth pads that reel you
in and take you under – XLR8R
Part Timer - Blue CD (Flau) [FLAU02] $17.50
As the second release from flau, and also the second album by Part
Timer,
this luminous album is a collection of brand new tunes, a couple of remixes
and some bits from the voluminous archives at McCaffrey HQ. His stunning
click beats, and sublime warm melodies from acoustic guitar, beautifully
exhibits the moteer's sound, with a polished touch of folk. More elegant
and pastoral than the melancholic sounds of his self-titled debut album,
which was voted as one of the favorite records of 2006 by The Pastels, Part
Timer's Blue album features the fantastic Australian string quartet
Fourplay, with its string instruments gorgeously instill weight and
warmness into the already beautiful melodies. Also contributing to this
album are the dreamy vocals of Nicola Hodgkinson(aka. empress) and the bass
of Andrew Johnson of The Remote Viewer. Blue is where organic sounds and
tranquil atmosphere drift together, gently blowing folkish breezes in
between the summer leaves. Fans of The Books, Four Tet,Helios, Tunngs, grab
this NOW!

The
Crystal Sun - Landscapes Elsewhere CD (12 Apostles) [APCD03] $14.50
Recorded using a mixture of vintage and virtual instruments the band
have
forged an album thattranscends mere nostalgia and instead pushes forwardto
explore contemporary themes such as alienation from and disharmony with the
environment. Each track is carefully crafted, hinting at the old forms of
progressive rock, psychedelia, and krautrock but delivered with a
passionately modern sensibility. And through sheer unity of purpose the
Crystal Sun havefused these disparate elements to create a balanced,
coherent work that enthrals and delights. Despite releasing Landscape we
here at 12 Apostlesknow little of substance about the musicians behind it,
having originally been approached in 2005 by a contact in the rare record
scene who had recently been invited to a small rehersal space to see a - as
then un-named - band who were looking for a record label.
Various Artists - Konkrete CD (Spectraliquid) [slq001]
$10.00

digipack package. An 11- track compilation CD featuring some incredible
electronic music artists, coming from cross-genres of experimental, dark
electronic music. Future sounds and beats paying their tributes to IDM,
technoid, d'n'b, ambient and abstract electronic music.

$14.50

Alan Courtis - Unstringed Guitar & Cymbals CD (Blossoming
Noise) [BN034CD] $12.75

Osborne's selection moves from devastating low-end to knee-bending groove.

Carl Michael von Hausswolff - Perhaps I Arrive: Music For
Ataturk Airport, Istanbul 2CD (Auf Abwegen) [AATP025CD] $27.75
This double disc set includes some of the most unusual sounds you will
have
heard from Carl Michael von Hausswolff. The story goes like this. Von
Hausswolff was chosen by the 1997 Istanbul Biennal to create a sound
installation for Atatürk Airport. His classic sound
combining low
frequency rumblings, very monotonous oscillations and hissy non-narrative
sequences was deemed too confusing for the commutors. It was feared, von
Hausswolff’s sound installation might be
mistaken for an alarm and would
be capable of causing serious panic at the airport. Hence the original
soundtrack for Perhaps I Arrive was neglected. This music can now be heard
for the first time on disc 1. Carl Michael von Hausswolff's response to the
artistic restrictions was to produce the four tracks you hear on the second
disc. These only make use of the very basic pre-set industry sounds
included in the Yamaha QY22 and show a new side to the von Hausswolff
sound. Very simple, post-nuclear lounge music. These four tracks-- you
guessed it!--where happily used in the context of the Biennal exhibition.
Christian Wolff - Piano Pieces CD (Neos) [NEOS10723CD]
$19.75
No description available at this time.
Climax Denial - You're Never Safe CD (Bloodlust) [BL110]
$13.25
A year has passed since the release of the first-ever piece of CLIMAX
DENIAL vinyl on BloodLust! (B!079 "Ritual Smothering" b/w "Mean Dominant"
7-inch), and now comes this artist's most adroitly composed full-length
recording, to date; Comprised of nine pieces--including a befitting cover
version of the delightfully indelicate Deathpile song, "Breaking A
Doll"--You're Never Safe is an excellent showcase of the unique blend of
power-electronics, death-industrial, and noise that Milwaukee, Wisconsin's
Climax Denial, aka ALEX KMET, is increasingly well-known for. Skillfully
mastered by THOMAS GARRISON (Control, Exsanguinate) at Misanthrope Studios
in Santa Cruz, California.
Daniel Givens - Egress CD (Aesthetics) [AST45] $12.50
RELEASE DATE: 05-13-2008
***The New York producer's third album continues to evolve his song
writing with twenty-one short and sweet tracks spanning spoken word, hip
hop, dub, soul, and noise. DANIEL GIVENS is now working live with video,
music, musicians and dancers to creative truly something unique. Egress
reminds one of works by such artists as Saul Williams, Mike Ladd and Beans
to name only a few.
Devon Williams - Carefree CD (Ba Da Bing) [BING057] $12.00
Carefree, DEVON WILLIAMS' debut album, has a melodic complexity that
belies
its immediacy, and descends from a lineage of great music. Those yearning
for a return to intelligent pop music--songs as gratifying on their 1,963th
listen as they are memorable after their first--need look no further. Over
the course of a year and a half, Williams recorded at three different
studios around Los Angeles. Laying down multiple guitar tracks, Williams
scrutinized every moment to achieve his ideal sound. Songs such as "A
Truce" or "Honey" presumably come from a lifelong fan of greats such as
Nilsson and Chilton, Cope and Downes, Lennon and McLennan. However,
Williams sports an unlikely background. While many people had a hyper punk
band in their teenage years, the controversial OSKER, a group formed when
Williams was 16 years old, was signed by Epitaph Records. He quickly
learned the benefits and dangers of the scene as he proceeded to kill
punks' idols. As Williams grew up, the manic energy of Osker became less
appealing than an expansive pop sound, so the band broke up. Williams will
be touring throughout the year, starting with an opening slot for the
DESTROYER tour in May.
DJ
Godfather - For The Freaks: The Detroit Connection Part 3 CD (Matrix Music)
[TRIX031CD] $14.75
RELEASE DATE: 06-10-2008
This is the third installment in Matrix Music's Detroit Connection
series,
which was launched by an album from Kevin Saunderson and continued with a
mix by DJ-3000. It is also the world's first-ever completely digital mix
series using Scratch Live technology and tracks only available digitally.
On this mix, DJ Godfather shows off his ghetto tech booty styles, coming
right at you with hard-hitting lyrics and fast, dirty beats and bass lines.
This is a mouth-watering collection, mixing up elements from techno,
electro, Miami bass, Detroit ghetto and hip-hop.
Dosh - Wolves And Wishes CD (Anticon) [ABR0084] $13.25
Wolves and Wishes, MARTIN DOSH's fourth official album, arrives after
its
architect spent nearly a year on the road--touring solo and as a member of
ANDREW BIRD's band--and yet, he sounds reborn. If 2006's The Lost Take
reimagined the drums, Rhodes, and everything-but-the-kitchen-sink virtuoso
as a full band, his latest restocks the lineup with a fresh cast of
collaborators, then stretches out as Dosh masterminds the material
(composing, improvising, arranging) with all the explorative wonderment of
a debut ablum. Never has our man sounded so free. And to think, there's not
a single drum machine in the mix. Includes contributions from BONNIE PRINCE
BILLY, Andrew Bird, and Minneapolis band DARK DARK DARK. No exports to
Canada or Japan
Essie Jain - The Inbetween CD (Ba Da Bing) [BING056] $12.00
ESSIE JAIN's stunning new album, The Inbetween, attains a new high
point
for the songwriter, exploring the nuances of intimacy as she never has
before. The songs are direct and captivating in their honesty, and serve to
reflect the artful beauty that can result from periods of clarity. After
the release of last year's We Made This Ourselves, Jain led her band around
the country on tours before returning to New York and jumping back into
writing and recording. Having solidified a fellow group of musicians, the
British-born Jain drew from current challenges in her life. Music serves as
a means towards making sense of a situation, and Jain chose to name her
record The Inbetween in order to highlight the ephemeral nature of the
issues she addresses. No exports outside North America
Fern Knight - Fern Knight CD (VHF) [VHF110] $12.00
This is the third CD of beautiful music from Philadelphia quartet FERN
KNIGHT, led by the crystal voice, guitar, and cello of MARGARET WIENK.
Drawing from diverse influences such as '70s Krautrock, UK folk, and
baroque and renaissance music, the band's eponymous recording juxtaposes
the calm surface of harp, cello, and violin against the perfectly timed
distorted squalls of a Flying V and a dark undercurrent of lyrical and
vocal mystery. The overall effect is a lush, pastoral, and warm ode to all
things green and living, a running theme that winds through the songs'
post-apocalyptic landscape. The album's cohesion rests upon the core
quartet's combination of acoustic and electronic instruments. Fern Knight
has toured extensively and features members of THE VALERIE PROJECT (Drag
City).
Finest Dearest - Finest Dearest CD (Bloodtown) [BTC007]
$10.75
The debut full-length album from San Francisco's FINEST DEAREST.
"...Listening to the San Francisco quintet reminds me of the late '90s,
before iPods and Myspace, when K Records meant something and 'indie pop'
was still a phrase in my vocabulary...the band takes me back to a time when
indie rock was more about earnestness than irony."--Sarah Han, SF Bay
Guardian. For fans of Pretty Girls Make Graves, Blonde Redhead,
Sleater-Kinney, Archers of Loaf, and Discount.
Giacinto Scelsi - Chukrum for Large String CD (Neos)
[NEOS10722CD] $19.75
No description available at this time.
Gregor Samsa - Rest CD (Kora) [TKR011] $12.75
In their third full-length album, GREGOR SAMSA takes a new approach to
composition, both in process and instrumentation. The result is Rest, nine
pieces composed over email during the course of nine months by key members.
In Rest, GS expand on their affinity for minimal, classical instrumentation
mixed with mangled and manipulated sound through integration of new
instruments such as the celesta, clarinet, classical voice and vibraphone.
Along with these new sounds, guitar has been almost entirely replaced by
piano, whose parts were recorded on a rare Boesendorfer once owned by
Philip Glass. These pieces demonstrate a shift in focus to harmony,
restraint & the use of muted tones, while less interest is taken in the
large dynamic shifts that once carried the weight of many of their
compositions.
Gummihz - Back To Back Vol. Two 2CD (Mobilee) [MOBILEE004CD]
$19.75
RELEASE DATE: 06-10-2008
Mobilee presents the second installment of its compilation and DJ mix
series. Back To Back Vol. Two is a two-pronged probe at the heart of the
Mobilee aesthetic: CD1 is an unmixed disc of essential selections from the
label, all appearing for the first time on CD, while CD2 takes the listener
on a DJ's guided tour of the catalog in its living, breathing, electrifying
flux. If you still think of Mobilee as simply a "minimal" label, then CD1
should change your mind.
Heartthrob - Dear Painter, Paint Me CD (Minus) [MINUS063CD]
$16.00
RELEASE DATE: 07-08-2008
This is the debut full-length release from Berlin-based Heartthrob aka
Jesse Siminski. With Dear Painter, Paint Me, Siminski has assembled a
remarkable collection of emotionally-charged, provocative, humorous,
self-reflective techno tracks that continue the upward trajectory that
started with the ubiquitous Baby Kate 12" and his genre-busting
collaboration with Gaiser. As the title suggests (borrowed from a series of
paintings by Martin Kippenberger), Heartthrob is a musician who wears his
heart on his sleeve, and a maverick musician even within the M_nus ranks,
focusing intently on the melodic, harmonic and tonal aspects of his music
while openly railing against the "redundant percussive techno stuff" that
currently clogs dancefloors. But that's not to say he lets up on the beats
for a second, in fact, his tracks are equally characterized by a deep
understanding of the formal and conceptual ideas that define and shape the
M_nus sound. Add to that the mischievous time signatures, a penchant for
the dramatic and an underlying sense of the absurd, and you have all the
ingredients for a hi-octane rollercoaster ride.
Hefner - The Fidelity Wars 2CD (Belka) [HEFCD05] $20.75
RELEASE DATE: 06-02-2008
1999 was a special year for Hefner. The original Fidelity Wars reached
number one in the independent album charts, with its accompanying single,
cult favourite Hymn for the Cigarettes securing them the number one place
in the independent single charts. It was also the year that saw Hefner
working hard for John Peel, recording three sessions for his show and
having five entries in the Festive Fifty for '99. They reached numbers two
and three in the chart, only beaten to the number one spot by the Cuban
Boys! Fidelity Wars saw Hefner coming of age; the rawness of songwriter
Darren Hayman's earlier music and lyrics developing into a more
intelligent, observational style. Hymn for the Alcohol, tells the tale of
two alcoholics falling out of love, accompanied by the sweet pedal steel of
new member Jack Hayter. The Weight of the Stars has the narrator memorizing
the contents of a roll of camera film, which was lost on a one-night stand.
Don't Flake Out On laments upon the lost friends of our early twenties,
accompanied by the broken voice of ex-Raincoat Gina Birch and brass
section. This re-release of Fidelity Wars contains the original album plus
an extra 29 rare and unreleased tracks including deleted EPs, b-sides, and
alternate versions. Darren Hayman and Jack Hayter play special evenings of
Hefner songs at Manchester Manchester Ruby Lounge 11th June, Leeds,

Hydra - Power CD (Bloodlust) [BL111] $13.25
Nearly twelve years since its first release in an edition of 50
cassettes,
nearly five years since the death of Hydra-head GREG SCOTT, with little of
his musical legacy remaining, the time seems appropriate to revisit this
barely heard recording from Scott's short-lived, post-Final Solution band.
The disc is comprised of studio and live recordings (including memorable,
between-song banter) for fans of power electronics, noise and old-school
industrial.
James Blackshaw - Litany of Echoes CD (Tompkins Square)
[TSQ1783CD] $12.75
"Blackshaw's sixth studio album in five years, shows a more mature,
focused
and, on the whole, accessible approach to composition. While the album
often feels darker and more introspective in nature than on previous
releases, many of the songs have a huge-sounding, classical quality to
them. With Blackshaw adding some glistening piano work for the first time
and Fran Bury returning to play swarms of sweeping string parts for violin
and viola, Litany of Echoes is a truly original, affecting and timeless
album from a guitarist/composer coming into his own."

Marc Almond and Michael Cashmore - Gabriel And The Lunatic
Lover CDEP (Durtro / Jnana) [D/J005] $8.50
Gabriel and the Lunatic Lover is the first in a series of collaborative
releases by MARC ALMOND and MICHAEL CASHMORE. The duo sets to music two
poems by COUNT STANISLAUS ERIC STENBOCK, the extraordinary 19th-century gay
writer whose bizarre life of decadence, drug-addiction, alcoholism, and
poetry--coupled with Satanic, vampiric, and Catholic obsessions--led to his
early death at the age of 36 in 1895. Stenbock's final years, it is said,
saw him accompanied everywhere by a life-size wooden doll that he called
"le petit comte" and which he believed to be his son. This two-track CDEP
features vocals from the legendary Almond and music composed and performed
by Cashmore, well-known for his extensive recordings with CURRENT 93 and
NATURE AND ORGANISATION, as well as for his work as a solo artist. The CD
is housed in a beautiful full-color digipak that contains previously
unpublished paintings of Almond by Russian artist VANIA SOUTAVLIOV, a rare
photograph of the enigmatic Count, and the complete texts to both poems.
Follows Cashmore's recent collaboration with ANTONY. One-time pressing,
beautifully packaged in a full-color digipak. No exports to the UK and
Europe

Marcel Dettmann - Berghain 02 CD (Ostgut) [OSTGUT005CD]
$14.75
RELEASE DATE: 06-10-2008
Following Andre Galluzzi's mix CD Berghain 01, Ostgut resident DJ
Marcel
Dettmann presents the second installment in this series, Berghain 02. It is
his first commercially-available mix, ever, and contains exclusive tracks
as well as long-lost classics. In the course of 72 minutes, Dettmann
fathoms his very own sonic spectrum. Not relying on recent trends, Marcel
draws his inspiration from frequent DJing at Berghain, his only benchmark
for his purist approach to techno.
Matmos - Supreme Balloon CD (Matador) [OLE10799] $13.75
RELEASE DATE: 05-06-2008
Matmos is M.C. Schmidt and Drew Daniel, aided and abetted by many
others.
In their recordings and live performances over the last nine years, Matmos
have used the sounds of: amplified crayfish nerve tissue, the pages of
bibles turning, a bowed five string banjo, slowed down whistles and kisses,
water hitting copper plates, the runout groove of a vinyl record, a $5.00
electric guitar, liposuction surgery, cameras and VCRs, getting the
pictures...out there and everywhere! Supreme Balloon is their 2008 flight
into fancy!
Missing Links, The - Driving You Insane CD (Half A Cow)
[HAC076CD] $22.75
No description available at this time.
Modey Lemon - Season Of Sweets CD (Birdman) [BMR107] $13.25
The last two years have been very, very interesting for the
Pittsburgh's
most loved sons, MODEY LEMON. After signing with Mute Records in the UK and
opening for Dinosaur Jr. at San Francisco's granddaddy of all venues, The
Fillmore, the band took some time off to regroup and work on new material.
The result is Season of Sweets. With one foot in the sci-fi darkness of
their last record, Curious City, one foot in their past angst-ridden garage
wreckage, and one foot in the kautrock brilliance of the German Frontier
(what, three feet?), Season of Sweets is a fuzzed-out, driving masterpiece
with catchy hooks beaten to death by guitar/synth mayhem. The songs twist
and turn through the imagery and dark rock that has made Modey Lemon
famous. JASON KIRKER (engineer as well as band member) uses various
keyboards, Moog synthesizers, and other instruments to flesh out the sound.
At the heart of this album is the energy and mysticism of singer PHIL BOYD.
As primitive as they are futuristic, Modey Lemon recreates the present,
molecule by molecule, every second of every breath. No exports to the UK
and Europe
My
Education - Bad Vibrations CD (Strange Attractors Audio House) [SAAH055CD]
$12.25
"Described as 'advanced ecstacy' by David Fricke in the pages of
Rolling
Stone, Austin, Texas instrumentalists My Education create sweeping,
cinematic music evocative and of the high-lonesome expanse of the Texas
Hill Country landscape they call home."
Nik
Freitas - Sun Down CD (Team Love) [TL30] $12.50
"That first song was just a fore gleam of the album's grandeur. It's a
rare
artist that can blend the strong character of folk music with the
infectious nature of pop in the way that NIK FREITAS has on Sun Down. His
songs embrace classic elements of Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and
David Bowie without losing relevance to the present."
Nurse with Wound - Imagez/Zero Mix Book+CD (Beta-Lactam Ring)
[MT103] $31.25
RELEASE DATE: 05-13-2008
***STEVEN STAPLETON painted 100 individually hand painted discs to
celebrate the release of the three album set Angry Eelectric Finger. The
paint and vinyl was salvaged from the local landfill site at Inagh, County
Clare, Ireland and recycled here in Cooloorta during September and November
2004. The paintings were displayed in Galway, Ireland and Portland, Oregon
before being offered for sale. All the paintings are now presented here in
a deluxe hard bound book with full color images and a spot gloss coating.
Released in an edition of 1,500 copies with the album Zero Mix.
Osorezan - Mimidokodesuka CD (Drag City) [DC3621CD] $12.75
"'Do you like Derek Bailey?' This was the question posed to Jim
O'Rourke on
his first meeting with bass-playing fury Darin Gray. Fifteen years later,
this Osorezan record might help you guess the answer - but in case you're
on the dense side: yes, Jim liked Derek Bailey and he got on famously with
Darin too. They've made lots of great records together (Brise Glace,
Hoffman Estates, All Most Heaven, Jim's solo albums) and had lots of laughs
making 'em. Osorezan came about when Jim was given the opportunity to bring
some players to Japan to basically do whatever he wanted.
Richard Chartier - Further Materials CD (Line) [LINE035CD]
$12.25
No description available at this time.
Russian Circles - Station CD (Suicide Squeeze) [S070]
$13.25
Formed in the Windy City in 2004, RUSSIAN CIRCLES were born and from
the
beginning it was their concoction of metal trimmings, minimal jazz primers,
and cryptic riffs that hit the scene out of nowhere with the pummeling
impact of a rouge comet crashing in from the skies. Their music weaves up
an intense and cinematic albeit soothing clobbering that cannot be put into
words but instead into forms of audible head trips that defies
pigeonholing.
Silver Jews - Lookout Mountain, Lookout Sea CD (Drag City)
[DC358CD] $12.75
"Silver Jews make quintessentially American popular music - but
'Suffering
Jukebox' and 'My Pillow is the Threshold' strike deep into the worldwide
realm of the chart-worthy Song. Uncanny! Excellent! An essential product of
the times! A new and necessary album from Silver Jews!"
Silverman - Blank For Your Own Message CD (Beta-Lactam Ring)
[MT208] $16.25
RELEASE DATE: 05-13-2008
***THE SILVERMAN should be given a degree in bio-melodics. This most
recent body of collaged constructions pulsates with aspects of a living
system. Slurred drones rush sonic corpuscles through electronic
capillaries, imparting breath to each track. An obscured, parenthetical
heart beat occasionally comes through as an unexpectedly metallic panging
in the background, mostly drowned out by the fluid dynamics of localized
subsystems playing out their various vital functions. Perhaps each one of
us does sound a little like a Javanese gamelan orchestra inside if you hit
the right spot. Cutting to find out is not advocated. The Silverman's
fantastic voyage sounds like a spiritual dissertation on degrees of scale.
Edition of 500 copies packaged in full-color book bound CD cases.
Various Artists - Big Hits From The Hill: Flamin' Hotz Funk,
You Down? CD (Flamin' Hotz) [FHZCD1] $17.75
"A heady brew of contemporary Brazilian funk--the booty-shaking,
favela-founded sort that's lately been cooking up dancefloors around the
globe. The cuts here are all a bit more hard-edged than mainstream examples
of the genre--mixed up and mashed up heavily in a blazing blend of beats,
basslines, and hip hop lyrics in Portuguese." Twenty-three tracks in all
from MC SARGENTO, PHABYO DJ, DJ EDGER, CABIDE DJ, MC LOURA, SANY PITBULL,
MC GRINGO, and more.
Various Artists - Sounds of Om Vol. 6 CD (Om) [OM300]

$19.00
RELEASE DATE: 05-27-2008
This is the sixth compilation from the world-renowned and continually
expanding Poker Flat imprint. Just like the notorious dead man's hand in a
high stakes all-nighter, this double CD release is full of carefully-judged
mind games and more than a few winning surprises. Compared to previous
Poker Flat albums, Dead Man's Hand takes a deeper route, reflecting the
label's latest developments.
Various Artists - Pranks! Book (Re/search) [RE/SPRANKS]
$33.25
"A prank is a 'trick, a mischievous act, a ludicrous act.' Although not
regarded as poetic or artistic acts, pranks constitute an art form and
genre in themselves. Here pranksters such as Timothy Leary, Abbie Hoffman,
Monte Cazazza, Jello Biafra, Earth First!, Joe Coleman, Karen Finley, John
Waters and Henry Rollins (and more) challenge the sovereign authority of
words, images and behavioral convention. This iconoclastic compendium will
dazzle and delight all lovers of humor, satire and irony. 240 pages.
Hardback limited edition."
Vetiver - Thing Of The Past CD (Gnomonsong) [GONG11] $12.00
Two years after the highly acclaimed To Find Me Gone, ANDY CABIC and
VETIVER return with a new album of old songs, all hidden treasures,
entitled Thing of the Past. Think of it as Cabic's fully realized mix tape
to the world--a collection of some of his favorite songs from some of his
favorite records--but presented, sequenced, and in this case performed by
Cabic himself, with a little help from his friends far and wide. Produced
by THOM MONAHAN and Cabic, Thing Of The Past was recorded in 2007 in
Sacramento and Los Angeles. The basic tracks were done live in the studio,
with the resultant record clearly showcasing a tight-knit band of hugely
talented musicians. As witnesses to their live shows over the past year
will attest, this is a group in full mastery of their craft--fluid yet
fully aligned, intuitively opening out or reigning in their power as the
mood dictates. Featuring core Vetiver members Cabic, BRENT DUNN, SANDERS
TRIPPE, OTTO HAUSER, and KEVIN BARKER, the album includes contributions
from two of Cabic's heroes, VASHTI BUNYAN (who duets on "Sleep A Million
Years") and MICHAEL HURLEY (who does likewise on his own "Blue Driver").
Other players include "FARMER" DAVE SCHER, JASON QUEVER, BEN KUNIN,
JONATHAN WILSON, EMMA SMITH, and vocalists MEARA O'REILLY and ABIGAIL and
LILY CHAPIN. Upcoming five-song EP of additional cover tunes to be released
in late summer/autumn. LP version to be released June 10th. No exports to
the UK, Europe, and Australia. Tour Dates Listed Below.
Volcano the Bear - Mountains Among Us CD (Beta-Lactam Ring)
[MT200] $19.25
RELEASE DATE: 05-13-2008
***"It's like that weird wind harp record from the '70s with a mid
period
NWW and Mauve Sideshow marching up opposite sides of the hill to claim the
giant harp. And that's just in the first 19 minutes!. Afterwards, there is
a slo-mo interlude battle between rarified VTB brand chamber music and the
sounds of...things. As promised, the denouement is a brief, dare I say,
pretty little whisper of pizzicato and drone. So pretty and little, in
fact, that it caught the attention of my otherwise weirdness deaf partner.
A real symphony of the spheres that showcases this Volcano's ability to
blow its top and rain sweet tweeky kittens on the valley below." Edition of
500 copies packaged in full-color book bound CD cases.

disruption."
Zombie Zombie - A Land For Renegades CD (Versatile) [VER019CD]
$16.00
RELEASE DATE: 06-10-2008
This is the debut full-length release from Paris' Zombie Zombie. This
project is lead by two people, Etienne Jaumet and Cosmicneman (from Herman
Dune) using sound and rhythm to explore the feeling of fear growing deep
inside of you. Listening to their music, you will go through different
emotional stages, especially when they play with the analog effects of
instruments like the Theremin, keyboards, or space echo tape-delay pedal.
Also, the provocative drumming and the screams will make your heart beat
faster, like in a horror movie - when your car won't start, and someone's
trying to kill you. These are the types of feelings this duo try to
reproduce in their music, also inspired by horror movie soundtracks from
George Romero, John Carpenter, and music from bands like Goblin, Suicide,
Raymond Scott, Silver Apples or Can.

best, tearing the walls down with raw aggression, speed, and power. With an

Ariel Kalma - Le Temps Des Moissons CD (Beta-Lactam Ring)
[MT189] $16.25
RELEASE DATE: 05-13-2008
***After a long journey to India in 1975, where ARIEL KALMA learned
the
basics of modal music and singing, he undertook his first solo recording

playing music on saxophone, ethnic instruments, effects, electric
instruments and electronic filters. Edition of 500 copies, includes two
previously unreleased bonus tracks recorded during the same sessions.
Byrds, The - Live At Royal Albert Hall 1971 CD (Sundazed)
[SC11177CD] $17.25
No description available at this time.
Circle X - Prehistory CD (Blue Chopsticks) [BC018CD] $12.75
"Some of you may remember Circle X's corrosive, caterwauling, and
unutterably fabulous self-titled EP, which was originally released in 1979
and reissued a little over a decade ago by Jim O'Rourke's and David
Grubbs's Dexter's Cigar label. Now the story picks up again with the
long-overdue first CD release of Prehistory, Circle X's first full-length
album. Prehistory was recorded in 1981 and released in 1983 by Index
Records, making them, strangely enough, labelmates with Wall of Voodoo."
Eddie Bo - In The Pocket With CD (Vampisoul) [VAMPI095]
$20.00
An awesome collection of tracks (1955-2007) from New Orleans legend
EDDIE
BO. Well known for the massive hits "Check Mr. Popeye" and "Hook & Sling,"
the album is a perfect chance to hear his full range as an artist, and the
majority of the songs have never been reissued.
German Oak - German Oak CD (Radioactive Records) [RR090CD]
$17.75
Repressed. 2004 reissue. "During the summer of 1972, best remembered
for
the bloodshed of the Munich Olympics, the 5-man Dusseldorf instrumental
group German Oak entered the Luftschutzbunker (Air Raid Shelter) studio to
record their first, eponymous album. The purpose of recording in a bunker
was to recreate the feelings experienced by German soldiers during the
Allied invasion of 1944. The strange acoustic conditions in the bunker made
the music, which was a series of long, spacious guitar jams, sound distant
and filled with echo. Julian Cope, in his in-depth review of the album,
describes the band's sound in unequivocal terms '...imagine a brutally
recorded, brazen and ultra-skeletal industrial white funk played with all
the claw-handed technique of the Red Crayola recording their famous
'Hurricane Fighting Plane.' This is the sound of German Oak'."
Iannis Xenakis - Works For Orchestra, Volume 5 CD (Timpani)
[TIMPANI1113CD] $19.75
No description available at this time.
Ilyas Ahmed - Tow Skies/Towards The Night 2CD (Aurora Borealis)
[ACE003] $17.75
"ILYAS AHMED is incredible. Born in Pakistan and raised in New Jersey,
he
now plies his trade in Portland, Oregon. Between Two Skies and Towards the
Night is where it all began. Released in criminally limited editions of 50
copies each, both albums are now fully remastered by PETE SWANSON and
repackaged in beautiful gatefold jackets from Stumptown Printers. Also
included are extended liner notes from DAVID KEENAN, who sums up both these
albums best: "Call it abandon, a facility for letting go, for moving on;
either way Ahmed's music is *gone*. And all we have are the recordings,
scattered notes to prove that he once existed and felt it all as deeply and
miraculously as any of us. And right now, from wher eI'm calling from, I
wouldn't ask for anything more."
Jim
O'Rourke - Tamper CD (Drag City) [DC3622CD] $12.75
"Part two of the multi-part Jim O'Rourke 'Old Timing' reissue series is
Tamper, from 1991. Tamper is a set of three acoustic instrumental
compositions recorded on analogue tape during the final days of the first
digital wave (we're at the end of at least the third wave nowadays), when
everyone but a certain young schoolboy in short pants were looking towards
CDs and DATs as the things of the future."
Manfred Mann - Up The Junction: OST CD (RPM) [RPM189]
$16.25
Based on Nell Dunn's controversial novel, the 1968 film Up The Junction
pulled few punches in dealing with contemporary London working class life.
With a cast featuring Suzy Kendall and Dennis Waterman, the certificate X
movie was also notable for a strong score performed and written by Mike
Hugg and Manfred Mann. Not their first foray in film music, it nevertheless
remains one of their strongest works of the period and is hugely enjoyable
in its own right. Director Peter Collinson was more than pleased with the
outcome: The result was incredible; they captured the heart of the picture.
Their music belonged to the picture, it was not super imposed. The tunes
will exist long after the picture has been forgotten! Up The Junction

Peter Ivers Band - Knight of the Blue Communion CD (Hux)
[HUX088CD] $17.25
2007 reissue. "Many music fans will know Peter Ivers as the writer of
'In
Heaven (Lady in the Radiator Song)', which he originally composed for David
Lynch's classic film, Eraserhead. The song was later immortalized, of
course, by fellow Bostonians, The Pixies. Ivers may not be a household
name, but during his short life, he made an impact on many fronts. He was a
musician, arranger, composer, screenwriter, catalyst, TV presenter, spotter
of new talent, a black belt in karate and a yoga master. Talking to people
who knew and worked with him even 24 years after his untimely death, the
superlatives still come gushing forth: such epithets as 'perfect'; 'a
totally unique and refreshing individual'; 'a legend in the making'; 'a
genius in many fields' freely trip off the tongue about him. Peter's first
big music industry break came in 1969, when Epic Records signed him to
record his debut solo LP, Knight of the Blue Communion, the first ever
legitimate CD reissue, released on Hux Records. On its original release in
1969, Knight of the Blue Communion drew comparisons with Captain Beefheart
and Frank Zappa, with Yolanda appearing to be the conventional vocalist
cast in what was often a sea of avant-garde madness, the music a blend of
blues, rock & jazz. This special 'digi-pack' format features a reproduction
of the original LP sleeve. The accompanying 20 page CD booklet features
extensive liner notes, including interviews with the featured singers and
musicians, along with the original LP liner note by Peter Ivers, full
lyrics to every track and rare photos."
Purple Hearts, The - Benzedrine Beat! CD (Half A Cow)

complete Purple Hearts on CD. Including all Sunshine label tracks from
master tape and 4 early recordings reissued for the first time. As a bonus
the CD also contains 7 unreleased tracks from 1969-70 by the original
Coloured Balls, featuring Mick Hadley and Bob Dames from the Hearts. High
energy R&B all the way!"
Quinteplus - Quinteplus CD (Vampisoul) [VAMPI094] $20.00
A group of musicians founded after the "New Jazz Collective" movement
in
Argentina in the late '60s; it was rather a space for reflection and
rehearsal to determine the paths that jazz should take. Experimentation
with folk genres in a jazz key, and the exploration of African rhythms, as
a bridge between both musical worlds, all of it with a certain
preponderance of rhythm. This set contains the only studio album (1972) and
a whole live at a gig at the Teatro Santa Maria del Buen Aires, in October,
1972, unreleased until now! Every tracks include jazz-funk fusion killers
all over! Highly recommended and much sought after. First ever worldwide
release!
Ruben Lopez Furst - Jazz Argentino CD (Vampisoul) [VAMPI093]
$20.00
The two albums released here demonstrate the exquisite combination of
swing
and moods a la Bill Evans that characterized the Argentinean pianist
showcasing his brilliant playing. Jazz en la Universidad (1966,) Jazz

is worthy of leisurely enjoyment. First ever worldwide release!

Simon Joyner - Cowardly Traveller Pays His Toll CD (Team Love)
[TL16] $12.50
Omaha, Nebraska native and singer/songwriter SIMON JOYNER has been
writing
about the dizzy and dark aspects of the human condition since 1992. The
Cowardly Traveller Pays His Toll was originally released in 1994, on Sing,
Eunuchs!, exclusively on vinyl, and marks the first major critical
milestone in Joyner's lauded career. John Peel famously played it in its
entirety on his BBC radio program and Joyner's underground cult status was
solidified; in all of John Peel's years in radio he had only played a

H. Kraken - A. H. Kraken LP+CD (In The Red) [ITR154LP] $12.00
Out of Metz, France comes the ugly and brutal noise-punk of A.H.
KRAKEN.
Their name is an amalgam of a facist dictator and a sea monster, and their
sound is a wild, intense blur of bludgeoning rhythms, industrial clatter,
scraping guitars, and caterwauling vocals. Citing influences as disparate
PiL, Motoerhead, US Maple, Suicide, Flipper, The Shaggs, and Chrome, A.H.
Kraken could implode or explode at any given second. Everything is yelled
in barely intelligible French, so it's impossible to say what they're
bellowing about, though one song is titled "Kevin Costner Est Un Acteur
Americain." When bassist/vocalist S.J. was asked, he assured that the
lyrics are "all about peace and love." Be skeptical. A.H. Kraken are pure,
unrestrained throttle-burn. They create landscapes of sound with
instruments that are obviously getting the shit beat out of them.
Argy - Focus On: Argy 2xLP (Poker Flat) [PFR021LP] $17.25
RELEASE DATE: 06-24-2008
Following on from Guido Schneider's enigmatic Focus On album, Poker
Flat
introduces the next in the series, Focus On: Argy. Comprised partly of new
and exclusive productions by Argy alongside well known and upcoming names
and highlights from his back catalog of releases and remixes, the mix acts
as a showcase for Argy's unique style, influenced by strong, energetic
peak-time house through to deep and spaced-out percussive journeys.

Borko - Trees And Limbo 12 inch (Resonant) [RESONANT5]
$9.75
Reissue of the stunning first release by Borko, now signed to Morr
Music.
"Majestic EP of fragile, organic electronica from a small rural community
near Reyjkavik, Iceland, the debut release from a hirsute young man named
Bjorn Kristjansson. As Borko he delivers four subtle, melodic & engaging
tracks which come across as if they were soundtracks to fairytales: gentle
and serene, evolving slowly and beautifully. Produced with the guidance &
expertise of his close friends from his home town, the EP echoes the work
of Tugboat/Fat Cat artists Múm without being derivative or lacking
an
identity of its own."
Car
Commercials - Judy's Dust LP (Cenotaph Audio) [CENOT014LP] $19.00
"Judy's Dust is the debut full-length LP by Car Commercials of New
Brunswick, New Jersey. Here, the duo of David Sutton (Friends and Family,
Current Amnesia, Ladderwoe) and Daniel DiMaggio (Home Blitz) expand on the
rock/mumble strategies from the self-released Jar 7" (Leaf Leaf, 2007) and
a couple cassettes kicked around the New Jersey underpasses. Contains
twelve songs of missing spaces, too much Center Ice, drums and wires,
varispeed recording techniques, and facing backwards - all from the other
side of the E Street. This LP is the first release in almost 3 years on the
now-resurrected Cenotaph label, now based in the UK."
Current 93 - Black Ships Heat The Dancefloor 12 inch (Jnana)
[DUJ012EP] $12.75
"Black Ships Heat The Dancefloor is a remix EP from Current 93. It
includes
two Matmos remixes of the tracks 'Black Ships Ate The Sky' and 'The
Beautiful Dancing Dust,' which also features vocals from Anthony (of 'The
Johnsons'), and two remixes of 'Blackships Ate The Sky' by JG Thirlwell aka
Foetus.
Dan
Melchior und das Menace - Christmas For The Crows LP (Daggerman) [DMR009]
$13.25
DAN MELCHIOR's latest full-length is a fully realized album that
explores
his latest psych inclinations and twists them up with barbed wire folk
lyrics and jagged guitar. A new milestone for sure. Pressed on 180-gram
vinyl.

Phreak) [AJP002EP] $10.25

A limited edition split LP from two of the country's most popular
travellng
noise syndicates. EXPO 70 create a long and atmospheric drone track, taking
up the entire side of the LP. RAHDUNES chime in with three amazing tracks,
some of which include drums (a first for them!) by INDRA DUNIS of NUMBERS.
Limited to 500 copies with silk-screened covers, this one will be a crowd
pleaser for sure.
Florian Meindl - Blast 12 inch (Trapez) [TRAPEZ087EP]
$11.50

Heartthrob - Dear Painter, Paint Me 2xLP (Minus) [MINUS063LP]

Nurse with Wound - Musty Odour Of Pierced Rectums LP
(Beta-Lactam Ring) [MT056] $22.25
RELEASE DATE: 05-13-2008
***In the terpsichorean tradition of traumatizing and titillating
treacalese collector geeks the world over, BLRR presents a limited LP
release by NURSE WITH WOUND. This is a full-fledged, full-length,
full-bodied album of previously unreleased material, and just when you
thought it couldn't get any weirder...It would seem that the musty odour
exuded by pierced rectums is exhilarating; even scintillating.

[DPROM066LP] $16.00
RELEASE DATE: 06-10-2008

Brighton, UK. "Cruisin' For A Bruisin" and "Thrill Of Romance...?" appear

Oliver Huntemann - Play! 02 12 inch (Confused Recordings)
[CON074EP] $11.50
"Oliver Huntemann has been doing his thing for quite a while, under
various
guises, as DJ and producer. Since 1995 he has been running the Confused
Rec. label (plus sub-labels). PLAY! 01 [live] - Sao Paolo/Brazil in 2007
was the predecessor of his current mix album PLAY! 02 [live] - Rex
Club/Paris. Especially for this event, Oliver has produced two tracks,
'Paris' and 'La Boum.' Already played by big names such as Dubfire, Stephan
Bodzin and many others!"
Osorezan - Mimidokodesuka LP (Drag City) [DC3621LP] $14.75
Pan/Tone - Chubby Chaser 12 inch (Cereal/killers) [C/K008EP]
$11.50
No description available at this time.
Pocahaunted - Island Diamonds LP (Arbor) [ARBOR58] $14.00
Teepees turned in for shanties. Moccasins turned in for high tops.
Spirit
fog turned in for purple haze. This is the sound of the world town. AMANDA
and BETHANY have had S. LA metal head BOBB BRUNO play electric drums on
their tracks in the past, but the results of this album is something
entirely different than anything they attempted before. It is less Bobb
playing drums with POCAHAUNTED, than it is an entirely new entity operating
in perfect unity. Dubbed out and drenched in the grime of the streets,
Island Diamonds features the same vocal come downs and chord
repetition/progression to infinity that P-haunt is know for, but with the
addition of almost ( "danceable" beats. This is the record that Amanda and
Bethany have always wanted to make, the crown jewel of an epic sistership.
Rub soap in your eye make it red so you look raw. Recorded/mixed/mastered
over a period of three months, and the effort/time shows; Pocahaunted's
most developed/realized work yet; features additional saxophone riffage by
ANDY SPORE (RACCOO-OO-OON, YOUTH OF THE BEAST, PUKERS). Mastered by JAMES
PLOTKIN and pressed in an edition of 500 Rasta colored LPs on clear yellow
vinyl with pro-printed jackets with art by CRYSTAL STOKOWSKI.

Silver Jews - Lookout Mountain, Lookout Sea LP (Drag City)
[DC358LP] $14.75
"Silver Jews make quintessentially American popular music - but
'Suffering
Jukebox' and 'My Pillow is the Threshold' strike deep into the worldwide
realm of the chart-worthy Song. Uncanny! Excellent! An essential product of
the times! A new and necessary album from Silver Jews!"
Stevie Kotey & Max Essa - Salon De L'Herbe 12 inch (Electric
Minds) [EMINDS003EP] $14.75

expanding Poker Flat imprint.
