He
Can Jog - Middlemarch CD (AudioBulb) [AB-Jog] $17.78
He Can Jog is an anagram of John Cage. It's the name chosen by Erik
Schoster from Madison, Wisconsin. He studied composition and improvisation
and plays with Cedar AV. His music is entirely made on the computer, and if
you know what this label released before then you may already have an idea
what he Can Jog is about. Bouncy beats, here even more than elsewhere,
samples of guitars, voices, a bit of ambient. If I honest I say that I was
reading this mornings newspaper when I put this on and I thought it was
quite alright background music, but when I started writing, replaying, and
listening more carefully, I thought it was a bit less than what I first
anticipated. It sounds all a bit worn out. The Oval approaches, the Fennesz
bendings, the IDM broken beats, the funny weirdness. Maybe I am getting too
old for this line of musical business, but however nice this is, it just
didn't do too much for me. (FDW, Vital Weekly)
Lull - Like a slow river CD (Glacial Movements Records) [GM004]
$18.80
After a long period of silence, Glacial Movements Records is glad to
announce you the return of the most important representative of ambient
isolationist music ever: the wonderful English artist Mick J. Harris aka
LULL (Scorn, Painkiller, Napalm Death).Unquestionable genius of the last
century's second half European music and point of reference about the
rising isolationist aesthetics, being on the same wavelength as post-rock
last scenaries. "Like a slow river" it's a work characterized by sharp and
minimal atmospheres but also dark, cold and huge such as big bodies of ice
which slowly move carried by an endless river. The five compositions of
"Like a slow river" reach the high expectations of the previous works such
as "Cold Summer", "Continue" and the "Murder Ballads" trilogy with Martin
Bates. With no doubt, this is the coldest and darkest work ever composed by
this pioneer of industrial-ambient music. You all will be led to the
oblivion of your existence....the freezing darkness of these glacial night
is going to come down on your bodies and minds....you'll fall in your
deepest sleep with the far echo of glacial runnings.... ....the way to
eternity is in front of you.....
Pete Namlook - The Namlook Collection II CD (Fax MP3) [MP3010]
$27.00
RELEASE DATE: 06-16-2008
This MP3-CD represents a special phase in the history of FAX. Pete
Namlook
who was on stage a lot during the 80's playing Jazz-Standards and a lot of
his own repertoire with his Jazz-Rock-Fusion formation “Romantic
Warrior”
wanted to make a difference with the live performance of his
Ambient/Chill-out sound. As a lot of artists in the Techno/Ambient scene at
this time just pressed “play to start the tape” he
sought a greater
challenge, composing an entirly new set while playing live on stage.
Collecting some sounds during the pre-performance soundcheck and probing
for the lowest possible tone that let the glasses at the bar dance and off
he went. Often technical problems before and during the set caused trouble
so it was a jour- ney into sound and composition against all odds. All CDs
have been recorded live (VI-Zurich/Switzerland,VII-
Berlin(Interference-Loveparade)/Germany,VIII-Brussles/Belgium,
IX-Amsterdam/The Netherlands, X- Ft.Lauderdale/USA and
XI-Berlin(Interference-Loveparade)/Germany). Recent developments in
mastering technology allowed Pete Namlook to improve the sound of the
original releases for this MP3 collection by completly remastering each
set. Of course, original cover graphics areagain included in the 12 page
color booklet and as all the original releases aresold out, you will find
them on the internet only for a lot of money.

6 (sold out) Namlook CDs on one MP3CD (Encoded

Thomas Heckmann - The Lost Tales Vol. II CD (Fax) [PS08/114]
$16.50
RELEASE DATE: 06-16-2008
Between 1990 and 2008, Thomas P. Heckmann produced and recorded several
hundred tracks, relea- sed countless singles and CDs and made his name in
Techno / Electro / Minimal / Industrial / EBM / Ambient / Acid and so on,
but this series on FAX consists of the tracks that, for whatever reason,
were never released, but were favorites of Heckmann and the people around
him. TPH: “Sometime in the mid 70s I got hold of some electronic
albums
from my fathers collection and was soon absorbing the atmospheres and
sounds of early Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd, Jarre aso. At some stage I wanted to
know how the hell they did all this and what instruments they used. And on
the back of Jarre's Oxygene and others there were things written like Moog,
EMS, ARP, Eminent, but in those days there were only a few places were you
could see, let alone touch them...especially for a 7 year old kid. The rest
is history and all I can say, that a little kids dreams came true for me
and the results of insane collecting and producing music for myself is
contained on this volume II of my Lost Tales series of unreleased
recordings from 1991 to 2007...

Various Artists - Weird Compilation 2 - Analogue Electronic
Music 2008 4xLP (Weird) [LPWEIRDVOL2] $37.75
Inspired by seminal compilations of early industrial music such as The
Elephant Table Album, Three Minute Symphony, Life at the Top, and the
Insane Music cassette series, this collection of 39 tracks brings together
30 international artists united by DIY attitude and resistance to the
virtual excesses of modern laptop pop. All have found analogue synthesizers
to be the ideal instrument for producing raw, emotive music in a world
where the human touch and presence is quickly getting clicked and dragged
into oblivion. A 32-page book contains more than 300 photos, lyrics, bios
and a statement of purpose entitled 2008: The Analogue Synthesizer as a
Folk Instrument of Humanist Resistance. Analogue electronic music no longer
represents a post-apocalyptic vision of an uncertain post-human future as
it once did at the inception of New Wave in the late 1970s. Includes tracks
from A SQUARED, A VAGUE DISQUIET (with MARK SOLOTROFF of BLOODYMINDED,
ex-INTRINSIC ACTION), ANGEL OF DECAY (JONATHAN CANADY of DEATHPILE),
AUDIODAKT, CHARLIE DRAHEIM, DEMONS (with NATE YOUNG of WOLF EYES), CARLOS
GIFFONI, CADAVER IN DRAG, ENVENOMIST, EPEE DU BOIS, FLESH GRAEY DISPLAY,
HIVE MIND, HUMAN PUPPETS, LED ER EST, MARTIAL CANTEREL, OPUS FINIS, RONIN,
THE SIAMESE PEARL, PAX TITANIA, PRIVATE ENTERTAINMENT, SLEEP MUSEUM, SPINE
SCAVENGER, STACCATO DU MAL, THREE TO FORGOTTEN, TOBIAS BERNSTRUP, VENDOME,
and more.

AER
- Project 7 inch (Touch) [TS003EP] $7.25
RELEASE DATE: 07-08-2008
Aer is the occasional recording name for Jon Wozencroft, art director
and
editor for Touch.
Af
Ursin - Aura Legato LP (La Scie Doree) [SCIE405LP] $33.25
Third album by Timo van Luijk (Noise-Maker's Fife, Mirror), die-cut
front
and hand-glued labels with gold print. Limited to 350 copies, beautiful
production. "Van Luyck produces all the sounds himself on his records,
which are finely woven together. He plays electronica to process sounds
from a flute, voices, glass harmonium and on side two even, a drum-machine
and bass guitar. Here, on this side, things are jumpy, perhaps even a bit
Krautrock like, which doesn't sound unlike old HNAS records. But for the
most part this record (four lengthy pieces in total) contains wonderful
extended drone music, that is alike some of the UK counterparts, but Af
Ursin adds a much more musical dimension to it, through a much clearer use
of instruments and a likewise much clearer production. Great stuff for
those who like expand beyond the `ordinary' drone music." - Frans De Waard,
Vital Weekly.
Alex Bau - Diabolika 12 inch (CLR) [CLR022EP] $11.50
No description available at this time.
Animaltek - Ferocia Anima 12 inch (Treibstoff) [TREIB080EP]
$10.25
"Between their triple ignition on Treibstoff and WIR and the preheating
process that announces their album release soon on Treibstoff, Shay Raban
and Oleg Slepak just add some more fuel to the fire of expectation. As the
savagely entitled work accurately promises, the dancing soul is absolutely
determined to burn on this new EP. However it is burning with a glow of an
exceedingly cozy fire: the title track is a parcours noir through tingly
emotional worlds. At first endued with syncope-accentuated stumbling
blocks, the way to the hidden realm shortly expands like a sweet temptation
which is nerved with some harmonically caressing marbling.."
Arbeid Adelt - Death Disco Limited Edition 12 inch (Play Out!
Music) [PLAYOUT008LTD] $11.50
2nd of 2 EPs, features remixes by The Glimmers, Mayaku, and Jon
daSilva.
Cover version of "Death Disco"? Nope, it's actually supposed to be "a live
cover track of Public Image Ltd's. `Fodderstompf' by Belgian cult band
Arbeid Adelt." I don't think that's correct either, but shouldn't one be
able to recognize a bass line in a PIL cover, wtf? "Play Out! Music
commissioned five prominent musical achievers to take on these tribute
remixes. Released on two separate vinyls!"
Astral Social Club - Monster Mittens 7 inch (Dirty Knobby)
[DK004] $5.75
A new single by NEIL CAMPBELL's ever-evolving solo project ASTRAL
SOCIAL
CLUB. Neil (A BAND, VIBRACATHEDRAL ORCHESTRA) with assistance from KARL
BAUER (AXOLOTL) unleashes two electronic psychedelic noise jams with
distorted loops, cascading feedback and the sound of hypnotic drones
recorded in space. 500 copies pressed.
Baaz - Few Days 12 inch (Elevate) [ELV005EP] $11.50
No description available at this time.
Baroness/Unpersons - A Grey Sigh In A Flower Husk LP (At A
Loss) [AAL019V] $16.75
A brand new CD split between two of Savannah, Georgia's heaviest.
BARONESS
unleashes two long tracks of rock bombast that's been described as "Tragedy
meets Electric Wizard meets The F***ing Champs." UNPERSONS respond with
four tracks of genre-meshing crush (elements of death metal, hardcore,
stoner rock, etc.).
Belleruche - Turntable Soul Music LP (Tru Thoughts) [TRULP130]
$17.25
BELLERUCHE describe their sound as handmade hip hop blues soul, like
Sarah
Vaughan, Charlie Christian and Cut Chemist stuck in a dusty second hand
record store with wine and a sampler, Belleruche make turntable soul music.
Their sound is pure soulful jazz with scratches aplenty. They are
influenced by everyone from DJ Vadim to Nina Simone to Hendrix and the
result is an album like a weird trawl through a dusty basement full of the
best records you've never heard of, whilst a voice you can't quite pin down
sings hooks you can't forget. Their new album includes tracks that conjure
thoughts of Stax Records recording Django Rheinhardt with Dr. Dre
controlling the mixing desk. Or Erykah Badu jamming with Mixmaster Mike
recorded onto analogue tape by the Dust Brothers. The threesome is made up
of KATHRIN DEBOER (vocals) RICKY FABULOUS (guitar) and DJ MODEST (decks).
The trio have attracted attention from luminaries in the UK underground
music scene; with vocalist Kathryn deBoer recording tracks with DJ Vadim
and performing with the Bonobo live band, and remixing tracks for labels
including The Elephant, Trojan & Quannum. UK import.

Conrad Schnitzler - 00/346 + 00/380: Mixes 2 12 inch (Orac)
[ORAC030EP] $11.50
This is the second installment in Orac's Conrad Schnitzler mix series
combining original solo tracks from German electronic music legend Conrad
Schnitzler with mix interpretations by dance producers. On this release, he
provides a free polyrhythmic remix in the style of his `70s-era "Cassette
Concerts." Thomas Fehlmann's mix is an epic, Kraut-rave stomper. As with
the first installment, there are two original solo tracks: a menacing
analog swamp, not unlike early abstract Aphex Twin, and a three-minute
cosmic arpeggio.
Control Club - Facile Les Filles 7 inch (Diamond Traxx)
[DIAM400EP] $7.75
"Fresh new single from these two former members of A.S. Dragon. Wicked
twister French `60s pop that might well be one of this summer's surprises."
Crystal Stilts - Crystal Stilts 12 inch (Feathery Tongue)
[FT02] $9.50
CRYSTAL STILTS hail from the same small-but-noisy Brooklyn pop gang as
the
VIVIAN GIRLS (of which the two bands share a drummer) and the perfectly
shambolic Cause Co-Motion, If The Pin Group met The Jesus & Mary Chain and
had a bastard baby that loved 1966, that might give you some idea of where
the Crystal Stilts sound like. Other Music described this limited 12-inch
aptly: "Primitive girl group stand-up drums and reverb-heavy melodic
surf/rockabilly-soaked guitar lines, the four songs on the EP are the
perfect amalgam of the pop immediacy of C86/Flying Nun and a DIY take on
the spacious '60s sounds of Spector and Nitzsche."
Dalek/Ifwhen - Dälek vs. Ifwhen 12 inch (Claire's Echo)
[ECHO17] $12.00
RELEASE DATE: 07-07-2008
180g 12" vinyl limited to 300. As diverse as hip-hop has ever been,
think
My Bloody Valentine, Tool & early Wu Tang combined with Massive Attack. As
with all Claire's Echo releases, this release is LIMITED to just 300 copies
worldwide -- 200 copies on 180-gram black vinyl.
Daniel Dreier - Ursus Maritimus 12 inch (Sender) [SENDER077EP]
$10.25
No description available at this time.
Danton Eeprom - Ostalgie 12 inch (Change Records) [CHANGE002EP]
$11.50
"Danton Eeprom is a name to watch! He is slowly but surely building a
name
for himself, with quality tunes released on Belgium Lektroluv, UK Delta B,
and French Virgo or more recently, In Fine. This new 4-tracker is a
synthesis from his sound which made his success in Berlin, quite
particularly: a punchy and melodic sound, tinged with techno and house.
`Danton's Bug' is a very appreciated track by London and Berlin DJs, with
its mystic bass line, dramatic ascents and metal voices. `Flash Car
Culture' is made for the dancefloor, a very powerful track with analog
sound which sounds like a Booka Shade track with more punch."
David J & The Glossines - Bottle, The Book Ltd 7 inch (DJK
Productions) [DJK1] $10.25
NOW AVAILABLE WITH A LIMITED EDITION DVD!!! A limited edition benefit
single from DAVID J of BAUHAUS and LOVE & ROCKETS.

Drums Like Machine Guns/Mincemeat Or Tenspeed - Split LP
(Badmaster) [BM009] $13.50
"This one nearly eluded me. My first two listens left me wondering what
I
just heard. My thoughts were not 'what the f*** was that?,' but 'I can't
remember what that record sounded like.' Rather than dismiss it and throw
it into the pile of Must Exit the Apartment, I gave this another spin. Good
thing, as the third turn clicked. One of the things that makes this record
difficult is not much seems to happen other than a hell of a lot of noise
gets thrown around. The sounds are so relentless that on first listen this
seems much more like an attack than music. Step away from confronting these
tunes and the record listens pretty damn good. MINCEMEAT OR TENSPEED at
first come off as a smart ass take on Steven Reich. However, as the needle
grooves through, Mincemeat builds on the riff, shatters some rhythms, and
shifts into new hooks. This is loud minimalism and full of all kinds of
great ideas. DRUMS LIKE MACHINE GIRLS owes more to early Industrial noise
than minimalism, but it to attempts to do more with less. For the most
part, Drums succeeds and builds some pretty tremendous sounds, stuff that
reminds me of what Slicing Grandpa was doing before that duo started
ringing Sci Fi future metal. A record worth a few listens especially if you
are hip to the noisier stuff on Load, Not Not Fun, or Deathbombarc"--Scott
Soriano (Zip Gun)
Dub
Taylor - Trickbeat 12 inch (Opossum) [OPSM017EP] $11.50
No description available at this time.
Eclier - Boxon Say Hello 12 inch (Boxon Records) [BOXON003EP]
$11.50
"First EP from Boxon Records' new signing: Eclier. Remixes from Tom
Deluxx.
Great French electro aimed at the dancefloor."
Einmusik Presents - OPHIR PROJECT: Saphir 12 inch (Knee Deep
Recordings) [KDR014EP] $11.50
No description available at this time.
Elon - Birds 12 inch (Dumb-unit) [DU042EP] $11.50
New York-bred DJ Elon is not only a great musician, but his in-depth
ornithologist knowledge is so stunning, that Dumb-Unit needed a
collaboration. Believe it or not, they managed to press a "Turkey," a
"Chicken" and a "Duck" on vinyl. But don't be fooled... these birds can
fly! There is no dressing or side dish to accompany the main course. This
is grade-A stuff that needs no cover-up. Elon also has released on Klink
Records to great acclaim.
Exercise One Vs Lee Burridge - Treat 'em Mean & Keep 'em Keen
12 inch (Exone) [EXONE002EP] $10.25
No description available at this time.
Fabulous Diamonds - Fabulous Diamonds LP (Siltbreeze) [SB89]
$13.25
Adorably known to friends and family in Australia as JARROD and NISA,
THE
FABULOUS DIAMONDS' beguiling truck is a mesmerizing mix of synth, dub, and
percussion, woven around honey-ache vocal stylings recalling (in spirit)
past Aussie noisemakers Scattered Order or Makers Of The Dead Travel Fast,
as well as those of Augustus Pablo, Young Marble Giants, and Suicide. Their
one previous release was a 7-inch co-released by Nervous Jerk and
Misteltone, and it garnered praise from the Blogosphere and a smattering of
airplay on discerning freeform radio stations around the US. This LP on
Siltbreeze has been in the works for the better part of a year; its release
coincides their first American tour (along with Siltbreeze labelmates,
Psychedelic Horseshit).
Fetisch & Me - Diskotecktonic/Black Palms 12 inch (Gigolo)
[GIGOLO224EP] $12.25
No description available at this time.
Format - B: Split Pot Inhouse Mixes 12 inch (Opossum)
[OPSM016EP] $11.50
"Opossum is upping the ante and throws in the highest hands of his own
posse. Right after the Format's, Moritz Piske travelled slipless to
Seattle. Now he's back with two extra suitcases of panties that were
thrown at him on his tour, though he didn't even had to ask for it. Of
course that has made his pocket rocket soar with the enhanced self esteem
of his deep groove resonating each second. In a case like this, you better
make sure your trousers are as baggy as they have to for their contents to
fill them! In his `Humatronixmix,' Dub Taylor introduces the prototype of
his very own man-machine which is obviously programmed only to march
strictly forward and has no reverse gear at all."
Francesco Tristano - The Melody 12 inch (In Finé)
[IF2010EP] $11.50
Three track EP with new remixes by Carl Craig and Balil (legendary
1990's
alias of Ed Handley from Black Dog and Plaid). "What to say? Well probably
nothing, as the sound files and the names behind the remixes simply speak
for themselves. Including killer remixes by Balil (aka Plaid) and Carl
Craig."
Frederik Schikowski - Was Hat Das Mit Mir Zu Tun 10 inch (Esel)
[ESEL033EP] $10.25
No description available at this time.
Garnica - Sweet How 12 inch (Galaktika Records) [GLK017EP]
$10.25
No description available at this time.
Giant/Tides - Split LP (Level Plane) [LP110] $12.00
NOW AVAILABLE ON VINYL!!! While both bands share slower tempos and
amp-worshiping guitar tones, TIDES and GIANT manage to strike their own
course in a scene that is rife with boring clones and uninspired
songwriting. Tides write gorgeously lush soundtracks to movies not yet
made, filled with emotive guitar work, dynamic drumming, and huge
production. The tone on opening track "The Invisible" ebbs and flows. After
rising and falling and rising again, it crescendos into melodic strumming
and pounding cymbals before finally crashing into lone distorted bass.
Following is a brief but beautiful acoustic interlude that leads to the
piano intro of side two. Giant's sole track on this record features the
band's three-guitar line weaving it's way through both the heaviest of
distortions and hauntingly euphoric passages. Echoes of reverb give way to
enormous buildups and the most satisfying of resolutions. Commanding vocals
and sparse keyboards compliment the twelve minute opus which concludes the
record.
Gideon - Last Depression 12 inch (Kanzleramt) [KA143EP]
$11.50
No description available at this time.
Giorgos Gatzigristos - Proper Latin Usage 12 inch (Wolfskuil
Records) [WOLF012EP] $11.50
"`Proper Latin Usage' is a deep, dark and twisted electronic
masterpiece.
The track sounds like a ticking timebomb which doesn't seem to go off, but
keeps everyone listening in anxious suspense to the coming events. On the
flip is an excellent remix from Mikrowave, label owner and International DJ
Gigolo protege, Kevin Gorman. He turns the original into proper
floor-filling & bass-heavy mayhem, in the way only Kevin can. Not for the
faint of heart!"
Glimpse - Elephant Skins 12 inch (Leftroom) [LEFT015EP]
$10.75
No description available at this time.
Graveyard - Graveyard LP (Tee Pee) [TPE081] $16.25
Steppin' out of the woods of Gothenburg, Sweden and right into your
head is
GRAVEYARD. Graveyard's self titled debut resurrects the sounds of '70s
psychedelic rock. The clash of folk, psychedelic, and blues makes for a
mind-bending trip back to the days of Cream, Sabbath, and Blue Cheer. The
classic vibe is evident throughout, from the masterful analog production of
DOIN AHLSTERBERG (Soundtrack of our Lives, The International Noise
Conspiracy, Jose Gonzalez) to the wah-wah guitar solos on tracks like the
urgency filled "Lost in Confusion." The hard, blues infused opener "Evil
Ways" features vocalist/guitarist JOAKIM NILSSON unleashing a Chris
Cornell-esque howl, declaring "There lies a hole in my soul, that cannot be
filled."
Hair Police - Empty Quarter LP (Troubleman Unlimited) [TMU161]
$11.00
NOW AVAILABLE ON VINYL!!! New 2007 recordings from the
BEATTY/TREMAINE/CONNELLY trio. Recorded in Ypsilanti, Michigan,
January/March 2007. Limited edition pressing of 1,000 copies. (NOT
AVAILABLE THROUGH ADA).
Hans Krusi - Ex Hk. LP (Alga Marghen) [ALGA023LP] $29.00
"While preparing a new edition of Anton Bruhin works, Alga Marghen
discovered some mysterious tapes by Hans Krüsi. Fascinated by the
raw and
brut contents of those sounds, mixing field recordings of insects, sheeps
and distant bells with primitive chanting, percussive noises and distorted
radio folk songs, Alga Marghen started to conceive one of the most obscure
editions in his catalogue."
Harmonious Thelonious - Just Drifting 12 inch (Dreck)
[DRK017EP] $10.25
No description available at this time.
Hum
of the Druid - Raising The New Wing / Braided Industry LP (SNSE) [SNSE072]
$16.25
ERIC STONEFELT returns with another meticulously crafted album of
crunching, crumbling, crackling modern industrial music. The sounds of
metal and machinery and vocal vomit. HOTD constructs audio works of
intricacy with such careful attention paid to timbre and texture, each
repeat listen revealing a heretofore unnoticed detail or ten. For fans of
Daniel Menche, Small Cruel Party, The New Blockaders, Einleitungzeit,
Linija Mass. Black vinyl pressing with pro-printed covers on cardstock,
pasted-on matte white LP jackets with cardstock inserts and 11x17" glossy
posters.
In
Flagranti - Firmly Planted Memories 12 inch (Codek Records) [CRE021EP]
$11.50
"A new In Flagranti under his own moniker. Four-tracker of pure club
enjoyment." Features 2 In Flagranti tracks, plus tracks by Lord Isis and
Eldridge & Huey.
Intertrigo vs. The Phat Riderz - Audio Fight 1 12 inch (Big
Splash Records) [BSR001EP] $12.25
"New and promising venture from the `pink town.' A concept label based
on
back-to-back fights between two artists. Much influenced by the French
electro scene from the likes of Justice or Sebastian."
James Flavour - Code Of The Streets 12 inch (Dirt Crew)

part of the second Detroit techno generation, and The Truth is a warm and
groovy album.

Lee
van Dowski - The Last Run 12 inch (Bpitch Control) [BPC173EP] $11.50
Lee van Dowski presents an awesome statement called The Last Run. The
Geneva-based DJ and producer has releases on well-known labels such as
Cadenza, Soma, Dumb-Unit, and Num Records, to name a few. The title track
is influenced by classic British Warp and Rephlex electronica, developing
slowly and steadily with fat, organic beats. "Rave Da House" rocks down to
the ground. The sound is a bit more clean and organized, but for this
reason it's totally hypnotic.
Lithops - Mound Magnet Pt. 2 Elevations Above Sea Level LP
(Sonig) [SONIG71] $14.50
The second Mound Magnet part from LITHOPS (aka JAN ST. WERNER of MOUSE
ON
MARS and MICROSTORIA). Elevations above Sea Level gives us aural diagrams
of a large, hypermodern cities with futuristic vehicles moving around. The
electrical ticking of fluorescent advertising panels, a thwappy airiness of
the ventilation system, the rattles of trains and chopped up hums of
distant roads, the mechanical groans that maintenance machinery starts up
with, rain drumming on the stretched glass roofs of urban malls, the
howling groans of motorcycles on city highways. It's not an ambient record
by any means, nor is it purely musique concrete. It's rather an acid fulled
hallucination of how to detect an idea of the future in the noises that
surround us. Though he uses some of the sound editing methods like his
contemporaries (and his own other groups), this doesn't mass into huge
pools to make a statement; the basslines, hums, jolts and whooshes divide
and multiply into sections like buildings and streets are divided, from
sub-basements to rooftops, alleys and boulevards, by stories. Lithops'
narcoleptic programming has a precision which holds the listener completely
captive--difficult, haunting and highly enjoyable.

Odd
Nosdam - Pretty Swell Explode 2xLP (Anticon) [ABR0083] $15.75
Inimitable producer ODD NOSDAM returns with Pretty Swell Explode, an
enhanced two-disc collection (one album, one EP) of remixes, B-sides,
videos, and original songs, including eight tracks entirely exclusive to
this set. Here Nosdam compiles the odds and ends created mostly around his
last two full-lengths (2005's Burner and last year's Level Live Wires), as
well as a few choice gems from bygone days. The first disc is bombastic and
beat-blown, and well displays Nosdam's impressive range as a remix artist.
Two of the record's strongest pieces are remixes created solely for this
project. The second disc is Nosdam's ambient EP, exchanging drums and voice
for the fuzzy warmth of eight-track cassete composition. Accompanying these
blasted sounds are three videos. Vinyl version has an exclusive locked
groove. CD Street Date - 6/24/2008. No exports to Canada or Japan

One
Last Riot feat. Paris Brightledge - Immortality 12 inch (Paranoid London
Records) [PDON002EP] $11.00
"Immortality is the second release from Paranoid London Records and
once
again the label throws something unexpected out there. What we have here is
one of the original Chicago house vocalists doing a cover version of a
post-punk Manchester band set to a tip-top acid house banger. Remember
Sterling Void `It's Alright?' Paris Brightledge is the guy who did the
unforgettable vocal. He also has the vision & desire to do something
different with a tiny underground British label on its 2nd release.
Respect! The A-side is of course a cover version of `Immortality' by The
Fall. The B-side has two tracks. `Making Enemies' is a dark, polyrhythmic
speaker-tester, while `Sync 24' is a quirkier affair. The music is all
analogue using three machines: 808, 303 & 202... nice & simple. Once again
we press on 180g vinyl, no downloads and no CDs."
Oni
Ayhun - Oar 001 12 inch (Oni Ayhun) [OAR001EP] $14.00
No description available at this time.
Oxford Collapse - Hann-Byrd 12 inch (Comedy Minus One) [CMO004]
$9.50
Over the second half of 2007, the members of OXFORD COLLAPSE devoted
themselves to capturing as many moments of musical inspiration as possible,
be it in the studio or with their own crude makeshift recording devices.
Originally, the fruits of their labor were to be culled into one
all-encompassing double album--a Tusk for Generations X,Y, and Z; a Double
Nickels for children born with ATM cards in hand--however, cooler, more
modest heads prevailed. The band decided that certain songs worked better
paired with others, and that these should be peppered to the public in
smaller, easier-to-digest quantities, all the while orbiting around the
release of their next full-length, BITS, due August 2008 on Sub Pop.
Christened The Hann-Byrd EP in honor of actor/statesman Adam Hann-Byrd,
this extended-player (limited to 500 vinyl copies and unlimited digital
downloads) sinks its hooks in early and never lets go, classic Collapse
style. However, it makes periodic stops for campfire sing-a-longs),
teary-eyed ruminations on loves lost and gained, authentic grandstanding,
and salty-aired tomfoolery over the course of its 20 minute running time.
Paulussen & Cali - Macchina/Bicicletta 12 inch (Lo-fi Stereo)
[LOFI044EP] $10.25
"After their stunning and very impressive Lofi Stereo debut last spring
(Sinistra/Destra) their new release breathes even more the spirit of
Detroit and shows their strong influences by names like Carl Craig, Rob
Hood and Richie Hawtin. Of course all in their very own style with quite a
Swiss touch: relaxed and ass-kicking at the same time! No doubt: Paulussen
& Cali are here to stay. Swiss mountain massive!"
Perc - Serious Moonlight/Cylinder Swing 12 inch (CLR)
[CLR021EP] $11.50
"After his latest work on Kompakt Extra and for the Swedish Drumcode
label,
Perc is back with two powerful tracks that fits CLR's profile! `Serious
Moonlight' on the A-side is a veritable stomping tune with a stoic bass
drum that dies away in the break, just to keep marching in its original
splendor afterward. Excellent and efficient. `Cylinder Swing' on the B-side
builds in a similar way, but instead of culminating with its wall of sound
into a climax, Perc always reduces the tension, to instantly `swing around
the corner' with different sounds."
Peter Van Hoesen - L.O.C. 12 inch (Lan Muzic) [LAN013EP]
$10.25
"Lan Muzic from Berlin number 13 has been produced by Brussels-based
Peter
Van Hoesen known for his releases on Lan. Remix comes from Philip
Sherburne."

Poni Hoax - Images of Sigrid 2xLP (Tigersushi) [TSR016LP]
$23.75
RELEASE DATE: 07-22-2008
This is the second full-length release from Poni Hoax, the 5-headed
French
pop/post-punk/post-techno/disco juggernaut. From the release of their first
single in 2005, Budapest, to their debut self-titled release in 2006, Poni
Hoax has been a living testament to the dark, cathartic power of disco and
electro-pop. The band presents itself on stage as a rocking dancing
machine, described by a raving press as a combination of Nick Cave and
Giorgio Moroder. Maybe. Poni Hoax are not a local hype but an urban legend.
Poni Hoax are not an infant disease but a tropical virus. Poni Hoax are not
a soap opera but a spectral odyssey. Poni Hoax are not a placebo but hard
drugs. Poni Hoax are a paradox. A Frankenstein composed of completely
different body parts. Images of Sigrid was produced by Tigersushi head
Joakim, who knows a French band is not just a French band, but has the
capacity to reach supersonic speed and break all boundaries.

"Label head honcho Sasse delivers 3 dirty tracks for the floor on the
new
Moodmusic Digital release. For the vinyl fans we also do a strictly limited
pressing of this release. `Butta' builds up slowly with shuffling sharp
beats and a deep bass reminding of early Ibadan style groovers , growing
into a monster synth-laden orchestral orgasm with percussive elements
flowing in and out of the mix."

Tickley Feather - Tickley Feather LP (Badmaster) [LPTICKLS/T]
$13.50
"TICKLEY FEATHER are a bit of a revelation; trancey, elliptical
folk/drum
machine gallops that lilt with melody and feature these gorgeous female
vocals. ANNIE SACHS has got a great one, especially in its higher
registers, where she almost resembles Liz Fraser or Siouxsie. Hometaping
sands off the edges roughly, but that makes it sound even more open and
lost inside itself."-- Dusted Mag: Limited to 500 copies on colored vinyl.
Tim
Toh - Join The Resistance Part 1 12 inch (Philpot) [PHP029LTD-EP]
$11.50
"First 500 limited edition on red transparent vinyl! We are very proud
to
present the debut of 21 year-old Tim Toh, a fresh producer with such a huge
talent and character in his tracks, we guess, we didn't hear for the last
decade in house music! That's a big goal to claim, but it's also the
reason, we signed him for a three-part series called Join the Resistance
and this is Part 1."
Timo van Luijk/Kris Vanderstraeten - Costa Del Luna LP (La Scie
Doree) [SCIE507LP] $24.25
"Second album. Lunar psychedelic improvisations." Features Timo van
Luijk
(zither, flute, keys, tape) and Kirs Vanderstraeten (percussion).
Tob
Jona - Troika 12 inch (A.R.T.Less) [ARTLESS2195EP] $12.25
"The Mojuba sub-label welcomes a new artist to the family. Tob Jona is
one
half of the unique Sounders Department project. The guys are well known to
the true Detroit-techno lovers. Way back in the 90's they delivered some of
the finest tracks with that special Motown feel. This EP brings us three
fresh and very deep tunes each with its own exceptional sound character! Be
sure that every one will find his treasure on here: the dancer, the dreamer
and the visionary!"
Tobias - I Can't Fight The Feeling 12 inch (Wagon Repair)
[WAG040EP] $11.50
Wagon Repair presents an EP from Berlin resident Tobias Freund, a
founding
contributor to NSI , Sieg Uber Die Sonne, Pink Elln and Odd Machine. "I
Can't Fight The Feeling" is forged for the floor with pulsing keys and a
deep bass throb. "Beat Study One" boasts a filthy synth bass line, and "Go"
is just as dark, with chilling synth and a tight cymbal loop. "Beat Study
Two" features a tight percussive loop that morphs against stuttering
electronic tones.

Dennis Wilson - Pacific Ocean Blue 3xLP (Sundazed) [SC5212LP]
$41.25
"In 1977, Dennis Wilson launched Pacific Ocean Blue, the first solo LP
by a
member of the world-famous Beach Boys. Amazingly, Dennis - the band's
drummer, surfer and all-around free spirit - emerged from the shadow of his
older brother, pop genius Brian Wilson, and shocked the world by creating a
heartfelt body of work unlike anything the Beach Boys had ever produced.
Over 30 years later, Pacific Ocean Blue remains one of the most
intoxicating solo showcases by a Wilson brother. Sundazed's vinyl edition
of this lost masterpiece comes in a lavishly illustrated, triple-gatefold
sleeve with the three LPs pressed in high-definition Pacific Ocean Blue
vinyl."
Jah
Batta - Informer 12 inch (Wackie's) [WACK615EP] $11.50
Two different dubwise versions of Sugar Minott's massive "Informer"
rhythm
- both chock-full of living dancehall vibes and Channel One-style
deadliness. Little John was 12 years-old when he voiced this tune in 1983,
straight to the head of all dancecrashers. Batta's cut is a different mix,
bowing to U-Roy at the start, before switching to a more contemporary
delivery. Sugar is in attendance throughout, almost as if the pair were
taking turns at the mic, before the dub takes over.
Jandek - Ready For The House LP (Jackpot Records) [COR0739LP]
$19.75
"This exact vinyl repress on Corwood Industries, is the first time
Ready
For the House has been available on vinyl for nearly 20 years, finally
giving collectors and fans the opportunity to own one of the most peculiar,
solitary, and strangely magnetic records of all time."
Spectrum - The Light Is Dark Enough LP (Subway) [TRUM001LP]
$27.75
"Reissue of the sole album by this excellent British pop-psych outfit,
originally released in 1970."
Sugar Minott - Dance Hall Showcase Vol. II 10 inch (Wackie's)
[WACK1002EP] $11.50
10" vinyl version. Four songs and their dubs - slotting in lovers,
bubblers
and rockers, and well-charge dub, with great playing and Sugar Minott
brilliantly focused throughout - which originally appeared in 1983 as a
picture-sleeved 10" on the singer's Black Roots imprint. "Everyone played
`Informer,' all the sounds," recalls Rae Cheddie, who remembers selling
more than five hundred copies straight from the Wackies office in Soho,
London. "It was international - a couple of boxes went to Japan, some to
Mad Robbie at Fotofon." "Special dedication to all dancehall fans," it
says on the label.
Various Artists - Bippp LP (Born Bad) [BB02] $18.75
A collection of French synth wave 1979-1985.
Various Artists - Funkhouse Express LP (Soul Patrol Records)
[SP10124LP] $22.75
...10 Super Rare Original Funk Monsters from the Late 60's to the Early
70's. "Today, Soul Patrol strikes stronger than strong with 10 rare tracks
from the `60s & `70s. Like the previous compilations, there are some gems
now re-discovered, some surprises and some `ear-openers,' such as The
Pacers' `You'll Never Know' or the ultra efficient `Why Won't You Say' by
The Chantells and also `We're Gonna Make It' by New World."
Ween - Pure Guava LP (Schnitzel) [1255210] $21.75
A 180-gram LP reissue of WEEN's 1992 debut album for Elektra, their
third
studio album overall. It features what is perhaps Ween's best-known song,
"Push Th'Little Daisies," which charted as number 21 on Billboard's Modern
Rock Tracks and was featured on Beavis and Butthead.
Wilson Mckinley - Spirit of Elijah LP (Subway) [WILMA001LP]
$27.75
"First vinyl reissue of this rare and highly-rated Xian West Coast
guitar
album from 1971, often compared to Rainbow Promise and Moby Grape. Simply,
one of the best USA Xian rock albums ever."
Yahowha 13 - Penetration LP (Tee Pee) [TPE083] $14.75
NOW AVAILABLE ON VINYL!!! "Few people have heard of YAHOWA 13, which is
a
shame, because this band rocks. Yahowha 13 were a spiritual sect led by
FATHER YOD, and were responsible for some of the most tripped out and
divinely inspired music ever put on record. The band recorded most of their
material totally improvised, and their amazing results almost verified just
what they claimed: that they were in touch with God. Truly, no American
band has gotten as close to the intensity and glory of Krautrock as Yahowha
13 did on Penetration, their best release. Cult-y."--Tee Pee
