He Can Jog - Middlemarch CD (AudioBulb) [AB-Jog] $17.78
He Can Jog is an anagram of John Cage. It's the name chosen by Erik Schoster from Madison, Wisconsin. He studied composition and improvisation and plays with Cedar AV. His music is entirely made on the computer, and if you know what this label released before then you may already have an idea what he Can Jog is about. Bouncy beats, here even more than elsewhere, samples of guitars, voices, a bit of ambient. If I honest I say that I was reading this mornings newspaper when I put this on and I thought it was quite alright background music, but when I started writing, replaying, and listening more carefully, I thought it was a bit less than what I first anticipated. It sounds all a bit worn out. The Oval approaches, the Fennesz bendings, the IDM broken beats, the funny weirdness. Maybe I am getting too old for this line of musical business, but however nice this is, it just didn't do too much for me. (FDW, Vital Weekly)

Lull - Like a slow river CD (Glacial Movements Records) [GM004] $18.80
After a long period of silence, Glacial Movements Records is glad to announce you the return of the most important representative of ambient isolationist music ever: the wonderful English artist Mick J. Harris aka LULL (Scorn, Painkiller, Napalm Death).Unquestionable genius of the last century's second half European music and point of reference about the rising isolationist aesthetics, being on the same wavelength as post-rock last scenaries. "Like a slow river" it's a work characterized by sharp and minimal atmospheres but also dark, cold and huge such as big bodies of ice which slowly move carried by an endless river. The five compositions of "Like a slow river" reach the high expectations of the previous works such as "Cold Summer", "Continue" and the "Murder Ballads" trilogy with Martin Bates. With no doubt, this is the coldest and darkest work ever composed by this pioneer of industrial-ambient music. You all will be led to the oblivion of your existence....the freezing darkness of these glacial night is going to come down on your bodies and minds....you'll fall in your deepest sleep with the far echo of glacial runnings.... ....the way to eternity is in front of you.....

Pete Namlook - The Namlook Collection II CD (Fax MP3) [MP3010] $27.00
RELEASE DATE: 06-16-2008
This MP3-CD represents a special phase in the history of FAX. Pete Namlook who was on stage a lot during the 80's playing Jazz-Standards and a lot of his own repertoire with his Jazz-Rock-Fusion formation “Romantic Warrior” wanted to make a difference with the live performance of his Ambient/Chill-out sound. As a lot of artists in the Techno/Ambient scene at this time just pressed “play to start the tape” he sought a greater challenge, composing an entirly new set while playing live on stage. Collecting some sounds during the pre-performance soundcheck and probing for the lowest possible tone that let the glasses at the bar dance and off he went. Often technical problems before and during the set caused trouble so it was a jour- ney into sound and composition against all odds. All CDs have been recorded live (VI-Zurich/Switzerland,VII- Berlin(Interference-Loveparade)/Germany,VIII-Brussles/Belgium, IX-Amsterdam/The Netherlands, X- Ft.Lauderdale/USA and XI-Berlin(Interference-Loveparade)/Germany). Recent developments in mastering technology allowed Pete Namlook to improve the sound of the original releases for this MP3 collection by completly remastering each set. Of course, original cover graphics areagain included in the 12 page color booklet and as all the original releases aresold out, you will find them on the internet only for a lot of money.

Thomas Heckmann - The Lost Tales Vol. II CD (Fax) [PS08/114] $16.50
RELEASE DATE: 06-16-2008
Between 1990 and 2008, Thomas P. Heckmann produced and recorded several hundred tracks, relea- sed countless singles and CDs and made his name in Techno / Electro / Minimal / Industrial / EBM / Ambient / Acid and so on, but this series on FAX consists of the tracks that, for whatever reason, were never released, but were favorites of Heckmann and the people around him. TPH: “Sometime in the mid 70s I got hold of some electronic albums from my fathers collection and was soon absorbing the atmospheres and sounds of early Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd, Jarre aso. At some stage I wanted to know how the hell they did all this and what instruments they used. And on the back of Jarre's Oxygene and others there were things written like Moog, EMS, ARP, Eminent, but in those days there were only a few places were you could see, let alone touch them...especially for a 7 year old kid. The rest is history and all I can say, that a little kids dreams came true for me and the results of insane collecting and producing music for myself is contained on this volume II of my Lost Tales series of unreleased recordings from 1991 to 2007...

  1. Paisley Symphony 7.53
  2. The Calico Wall 21.44

A Storm of Light - And We Wept The Black Ocean Within CD (Neurot) [NR059] $13.25
The debut album by the new Brooklyn, NY band featuring JOSH GRAHAM, NEUROSIS visual director and former member of RED SPAROWES and BATTLE OF MICE. The esteemed guitarist/vocalist is joined on this recording by bassist/vocalist DOMENIC SEITA (ex-TOMBS, ex-ASEA) and drummer PETE ANGEVINE of SATANIZED. Since then, rhythmic pugilist extraordinaire VINNY SIGNORELLI (UNSANE, ex-SWANS) signed on as second drummer. As one would guess by the pedigree, A STORM OF LIGHT is brutally hard-hitting. However, the group's haunting harmonic drone meshes with guitar, vocals, and subtle keyboard layers, giving listeners more a sense of suffocation by drowning than a simple pummeling. No exports to the UK/Europe or Japan

Abiku - Left CD (Automation) [AUTO018] $9.00
The first of two companion CDs from Baltimore electro-punk duo ABIKU--JANE (keyboards, vocals) and JOSH (keyboards, guitars). A tough-to-nail-down mix of rave, lo-fi electronics, post-metal, noise pop and punk, rocked with throat ripping vocals, screeches, and bellows.

Aidan Baker - Book of Nods CD (Beta-Lactam Ring) [MT163] $16.25
RELEASE DATE: 06-10-2008
***AIDAN BAKER's (NADJA) prior metallic inclinations lend in heaviness, adding a certain stylistic thud to Terry Riley-like territories, and colouring portions almost as if they were middle passages in some sprawling prog excursion. A soft eruption of synchronous sweet airs.

Anakrid - Banishment Rituals Of The Disenlightened CD (Beta-Lactam Ring) [MT199] $15.50
RELEASE DATE: 06-10-2008
***ANAKRID have another breakthrough chart topper on their bruised hands. These avant-garde hit-makers have real crossover potential, combining the best, most dynamic experimental noise with the very latest drones. This exciting NOW sound is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Hey kids! If you love Nurse With Wound, Genocide Organ, Hafler Trio, Muslimgauze, Pierre Henry, Nadja and Harry Bertoia and confusing your parents, then you'll want to get in on the Anakrid craze before it's too late. They've got a whole new way of kickin' it old school.

Axel Bartsch - Kiss CD (Karmarouge) [KR035CD] $14.75
Berlin's Axel Bartsch releases his debut full-length for Karmarouge, Kiss. After a few 12" releases on Kompakt, Sportclub and Spielzeug, Axel Bartsch has been searching for a suitable record label and Karmarouge gave him the opportunity to do it his way. Bartsch made the final decision to name his album Kiss because of his passion for music... because music is like kissing - highly emotional and sensual, as the feeling of approaching lips. These are melodic and energetic tracks that space out into ambience, dipping into the abstractness of familial and emotional electronic soundscapes. Kiss celebrates the glorious pressure and tension felt in the body when the dancer is animated by a grooving techno current - moving, throbbing, and finally being released in hisses and pops, like being kissed by music.

Be Gulls - By The Beach CD (Rad) [RAD002] $13.75
"The second installment from Marriage Records' RAD annex brings us the latest from LITTLE WINGS' KYLE FIELD and friends under the guise BE GULLS. Where Little Wings ends, Be Gulls begins. Which is to say, By the Beach is a laid back, suits off, ties burnt, hair down affair. These are the songs and thoughts of a group of men shedding the city's bright lights for the warming glow of the country's campfire light. Unlike the new batch of musicians that have augmented the sounds of passing guitars and percussions with distorted production and a fascination with Pet Sounds, Be Gulls hone in our their love of the ramblin' men of music. Stripped of any pretense, By the Beach is nothing but sea shells and nighttime sea breezes brought to life by folk's intimate caress. These are songs meant to be sung with care and played with reckless abandon. In other words, this is just a recording of friends making music for the hell of it and that laissez-faire attitude will only endear the album to roadtrippers looking to embrace open highways and sandy goal lines."--Electronic Voice Phenomenon

Epic, irate and refreshingly original, Birushanah possesses the ability to create an atmosphere that will utterly consume you. Prepare yourself for an ethereal journey of crushing proportions. Features ex-members of CORRUPTED and TETSUO. They completed a west coast tour in February with Drain the Sky and destroyed cities along the Pacific Northwest.

Black Diamond Heavies - A Touch Of Someone Else's Class CD (Alive) [ALIVE0085] $13.75
BLACK DIAMOND HEAVIES are a two-piece consisting of JOHN WESLEY MYERS on bass keys, fender Rhodes, organ, and vocals (left hand of rhythm, right hand of soul) and VAN CAMPBELL completing the lineup on drums and vocals. A family pedigree that has Myers' father a Baptist preacher and Campbell coming from a family of bourbon distillers (seriously, "Old Rip Van Winkle"), the Heavies are about nothing but pounding out their raucous punk take on the blues and soul, southern style. Their critically lauded debut Alive Records release Every Damn Time was hailed by NME as "damn brilliant-a fabulous debut" as well as "an impressive set of messed-up 21st century blues" by All Music Guide. Their second album A Touch Of Someone Else's Class was recorded with producer DAN AUERBACH of THE BLACK KEYS at his Akron Analog studio.

Bliss - Return to Bliss CD (Hallucinations) [HCD010CD] $12.75

On this album she collaborates with everyone from hip hop artists, to MIKE HALEY of WETHER. There are dance tracks with drum machines, and some with a live band. Her live shows make everyone in the room's jaw drop, with her tiny frame usually being dwarfed by surrounding faces. CHICA X gives on hell of a performance and has played shows with Aids Wolf, Eyes, Attractive And Popular, VCR, ClipD BEaks, and Mute Era. She makes an impression everywhere she goes, and has made quite an entourage of people backing her up including DAN DEACON, KILL ME TOMORROW and tons more.

Dog Holocaust - Vol. 1 - 3 CD (Gaping Hole) [CDDOGHVOL1] $12.00
Scathing and unrelenting, a perverted mix of static, distortion and feedback that harkens back to the mid-'90s heyday of loud, sleazy noise. DOG HOLOCAUST is the collaborative effort of NOLAN THROOP (KAKERIAK) and DAN JOHANSSON (SEWER ELECTION) and this CD is a reissue of their first three now-out-of-print cassettes. An absolute must for fans of Macronympha, Incapacitants, Merzbow.

Packed with all new material recorded over the past year Back To Earth features an exquisite tracklist of tunes that reveal the true extent of Eat Static’s musical ingenuity. The album is infused with dashes of Arabian and jazzy influences alongside solid rhythmic elements and layers of spaced out, otherworldly effects that bear their precision-crafted signature. Coursing through breaks, dub and lounge territory, Back To Earth includes collaborations with Steve Everitt, Ed Wynne (Ozric Tentacles) and Steve Hillage & Miquette Giraudy (System 7 / Mirror System). Complete with an unparalleled degree of stylistic variety and detail, this album lands just in time for the summer season, encapsulating all that people have come to expect from Eat Static over the years.

El Madmo - El Madmo CD (Team Love) [TL33] $12.50
Born of social ineptitude and an ageless belief in trick-or-treatery, EL MADMO offers escape, justice, karmic postulation, and that feeling you get when you know something that no one else does. Starting out as a garage band trapped in the basements of various hockey arenas, theirs is a powerfully raw sound that could only be inspired by the smell of Zamboni fuel and sweaty skates. The band consists of guitarist/singer, MADDIE, bassist/singer, EL, and majestically afroed drummer, MO. Their self-titled debut album is a solid piece of body rocking ear-munition revealing a musical labyrinth that challenges you to, "Choose your own adventure." From the Aeolian darkness of "Vampire Guy", to the sassy cha-cha of "Fantasy Guy", to a song that simply asks, "What good is a smile when your head's in a vise?", El Madmo serves up a hot and tasty meal that'll fill you up and also "Rock Your Balls Off."

Eric Leonardson & Steve Barsotti - Rarebit CD (Transparency) [TRANS125] $14.00
RELEASE DATE: 06-15-2008
***Rarebit is the culmination of a four-year project by sound artists and instrument inventors STEVE BARSOTTI and ERIC LEONARDSON. Taking their cues from 20th Century sound artist-inventors Luigi Russolo and Harry Partch, the self-built instruments of Barsotti and Leonardson use coil springs, eyebolts, various pieces of wood, and other familiar materials These objects are amplified by contact microphones, resulting in sounds of incredible depth, texture, producing amazing richness and variety that belie their humble origins. Given these novel sounds, Leonardson and Barsotti's music retains human-level gestures as one expects from traditional acoustic music, yet with an emphasis on texture and timbre instead of melody or meter. Nine tracks, (72 minutes total) are improvised and two were composed (tracks 1 and 9). Streams of sound are created that move fluidly from scene to scene with a communicative style and a dramatic sense of presence and dynamic range, from effervescent burbling, animal-like whines, and grunts to gritty metallic drones that transform into forlorn hissing and ethereal soundscapes. Some passages are nearly silent, breathy, and tranquil.

Estranged - Static Thoughts CD (Dirtnap) [ZZZ74] $11.50
THE ESTRANGED are a new three-piece from Portland, Oregon. Members come from the HC/Crust scene, where they have a long history of playing in some of the genre's most influential bands. Kinda surprising, then, that on Static Thoughts The Estranged throw us a curve ball and wind up going off in an entirely new direction, exploring ominous, dark (musically and lyrically) post-punk a la Wipers meets Mission Of Burma meets Warsaw-era Joy Division.

Eyes - On Eyes CD (Nail In The Coffiin) [NITC017] $8.25
From the ashes of psychedelic/noise band LAZER MOUNTAIN comes EYES, a two-piece electronic, noise, dance, experimental outfit. Eyes mix many styles to come up with their own special blend of dancey, catchy, chaotic pop. Like if the Doors met Wolf Eyes and threw on some Crystal Castles and Prince. Their first proper CD release after a slew of CDRs and tapes.

Flying Lotus - Los Angeles CD (Warp) [WRP165] $13.75
The first moments of FLYING LOTUS' Los Angeles come on as lush analog waves, just distorted enough to sound like a faded memory of something you once heard on a radio from across a room. Essentially, it's instant transportation. Whether it is forward or backward in time, you'll never know as the sounds of the record leap recklessly into the future while keeping a sly glance back towards the classics of every genre. In this case, establishing a timeframe is not nearly as important as establishing the setting, which, as the album's title may have tipped you off, is none other than southern California. Like Flying Lotus' full-length Warp debut, Los Angeles and its surrounding areas are studies in deep contrast: haves and have-nots, glitter and grime, sunshine and shadow, whimsy and tension.

Franco Godi - Signor Rossi CD (Bureau B) [BB012CD] $16.00
RELEASE DATE: 08-19-2008
Signor Rossi was an Italian-made cartoon (1975-1978) from Bruno Bozetto consisting of 3 serieses of 12 episodes each. The cartoons told of the adventures of Signor Rossi and his doggy pal Gastone and their quest for happiness in all manner of places (and times) such as the Stone Age, the Middle Ages and the future, encountering all kinds of characters including Zorro, Tarzan, Robin Hood, Sherlock Holmes, Alladin and many more. The music from Franco Godi (aka "Mr. Jingle" - from his advertisting music) perfectly conveys the playfulness and light-hearted adventures, using a variety of styles and signatures.

Fred Frith - To Sail, To Sail CD (Tzadik) [TZ7625] $14.50
No description available at this time.

Gonga II - Transmigration CD (Invada) [INV051] $14.00
"And so it was that after the release of 2004's critically acclaimed debut--which led to a Radio 1 evening session, several triumphant festival appearances and tours--the tides of fate turned once more. Several worthy bass players came and went and the resulting struggle caused our cherished vocalist JOE VOLK to escape the growing madness and despair that enveloped the band. Forced to seek solace in the Void, the remaining members of GONGA ruminated on the meaning of all that had gone before until eventually, using techniques both sacred and profane, we discovered a truth which in turn opened a door to a room wherein were performed unhallowed rites and alchemies. Assisting and playing in bands such as PORTISHEAD, SADDAR BAZAAR, CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX, RAMESSES, THE FLIES and the solo projects of Joe Volk and MYOPIC VOID has provided enlightenment in times of need. Transmigration, Gonga's second album reflects the turbulence of these times. In a final display of defiance to the powers that sought our end Gonga recruit PETER THEOBALDS (ex-AKERCOCKE) as Bass Overlord and Team Brick picks up the mantle let fall by Volk and the Transmigration is complete--Gonga is more powerful than ever.

Heads - Dead In The Water CD (Rooster) [ROOSTER009] $13.25
Psychedelic noise purveyors, Krautrock obscurist obsessives, and Stoogian riff worshippers THE HEADS offer a proper CD reissue of their lauded Dead in the Water album. Previously released on CDR in an edition of 100 copies and subsequently pressed as a double-LP, it has now been remastered by LATCH MANGHAT (TAINT) and sequenced as four sides, as opposed to 30-plus tracks, to achieve the effect of listening to the double vinyl format without having to get up and change sides. The Heads deliver the goods on Dead in the Water, a collection of works-in-progress, monster jams, riffs to infinity, white noise maelstroms, and garage fuzz/spuzz. This record is quite possibly the best thing from the Bristol, UK four-piece since their monster opus Everybody Knows We Got Nowhere. No exports to the UK and Europe

Health - Disco CD (Lovepump United) [LPU019] $9.00
By now you re likely familiar with the (barely) contained chaos of HEALTH. Their debut record released in September on Lovepmp United and relentless touring with the likes of Crystal Castles, Dan Deacon & White Williams has cemented their status as one of the most exciting & energetic bands on the scene! Publications including Vice, NME, Fader, XLR8R, and Pitchfork agree. Disco is an album of remixes of songs from Health's debut. This is not your typical remix album. Every artist on the record was hand selected and commissioned by Health with the hope of combining their sounds and musical ideas with those of electronic artists they admire, across the globe from Japan, The Netherlands, Germany, Argentina, Canada the USA, several of them doing remixes for the first time. This is an album and should be listened to as one. Received an 8.0 from Pitchfork.

Imps - Bring Out The Imps CD (Mule Electronic) [MULE012CD] $14.75
RELEASE DATE: 07-08-2008
This is the debut collaborative release from IMPS, a collaboration between Malmö's Minilogue and two jazz musicians from Melbourne, Australia. The songs were recorded during a two-week long improvisation/jam session where everything was recorded live (with some post-production) in an attempt to capture the feeling of real-time, actively performed acoustic instruments mixed with electronic craziness (also captured live). The result is a display of funk-fuelled jazz that shows how much can be done with open minds and shitloads of toys in a big studio.

Iro - Tamafuri CD (Psf) [PSF180CD] $18.25
"An ultra mysterious blast from the deepest underground! Iro were (and still are) a little known shamanic improvisation unit, consisting of Kawasaki-based husband and wife Shizuko and Toshio Orimo. Formed in 1981, they released a number of cassette-only albums during the eighties.."

Jasper TX - Black Sleep CD (Miasmah) [MIA008CD] $14.00
RELEASE DATE: 07-08-2008
This is the fifth full-length release by Swedish musician, Dag Rosenqvist aka Jasper TX. Black Sleep, in a way, feels like the album he has been building up to for some time now, as if all his previous experiences in creating haunting, oft-beautiful soundscapes have been harvested and fine-tuned. Originally conceived as one continuous track, Black Sleep is no random collection of songs - it is one work, one statement. Ambitious as it may be, it's impossible to deny its resounding success.

Jay Denham - The Truth CD (Disko B) [DB143CD] $16.00
RELEASE DATE: 07-08-2008
This is Jay Denham's third full-length release for the Disko B label. The Munich-based Kalamazoo-bred producer has releases on labels like Transmat, Tresor and on his own Black Nation imprint, developing a distinct style using the best of both worlds from house and techno. This Coming Gladness is transcendental fin de siècle songs from one of the great unsung voices and songwriters of our modern times.

Kira Lynn Cain - Ideal Hunter CD (Evangeline) [EV0006] $12.50
"This music is the type that seems best suited for mop-up time after the bar has closed and the patrons have stumbled out. Dark, a bit spooky, but with a gorgeous approach, KIRA LYNN CAIN makes these songs soar with great arrangements and a delivery that recalls a cross between PJ Harvey and Nico. The alluring and cinematic opener 'White as a Dove' is pure heaven as her vocals hover over the music and the same holds true for the atmospheric 'Arizona' with its dreamy accents. Part country and part orchestral pop, the performer seems in her element from start to finish, especially on the tender 'Good' with her almost angelic performance. Most of this record is very heady and hypnotic as the psychedelic-tinged 'Not With My Eyes' ambles along slowly while 'The Strange Light' saunters along and almost puts you to sleep in the nicest way possible. This is not a record for those hoping for an uplifting experience, but one which is extremely pretty nonetheless."--Popmatters

Lithops - Mound Magnet Pt. 2 - Elevations Above Sea Level CD (Killer Pimp) [PIMPK006] $10.25
No description available at this time.

M's - Real Close Ones CD (Polyvinyl) [PRC153] $13.50
Of Montreal, Aloha, and THE M's are three bands that have one thing in common--wherever they go or whatever they release, critical praise is sure to follow. Real Close Ones is the third album from Chicago's The M's. Born from the band's passage through the world as musicians, men, fathers, husbands, and sons, Real Close Ones is a gorgeous testament to life. "Guitars might have the angularity of 'And Your Bird Can Sing', the flash and crash of 'Pictures Of Lily' and a general freakbeat crackle... Melodies twist and turn, strings phase in and out, bells chime. All this ambition coagulates into an irresistible, tumbling, tune filled whole."--MOJO

Maryanne Amacher - Sound Characters Volume 2 CD (Tzadik) [TZ8055] $14.50
"One of contemporary music's greatest and most elusive mavericks returns to Tzadik with yet another CD of ear-bending electronic sounds. A student of Stockhausen and close collaborator of John Cage and David Behrman, Amacher has been creating acoustic art, electronic soundscapes and site-specific installation work since 1967."

Medeski Martin & Wood - Zaebos: The Book of Angels Volume 11 CD (Tzadik) [TZ7368] $14.50
No description available at this time.

Mrs Jynx - Standoffish Cat CD (Planet Mu) [ZIQ207] $13.25
The Standoffish Cat, the achingly beautiful first album from Mancunian songstress HANNAH DAVIDSON, sits somewhere between IDM and electronica in a place all of its own. Sounding not unlike an early u-ziq, MRS. JYNX distills the evocative sound of a pastoral English summer via the medium of synthesisers. No exports to the UK, Europe, or Australia

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez & Jeremy Michael Ward - ORL + JMW CD (Infrasonic) [INFRA004] $12.00
The self-titled collaborative album between OMAR RODRIGUEZ LOPEZ (of THE MARS VOLTA) and his late band mate, JEREMY MICHAEL WARD, will come as something of a departure for fans of Rodriguez Lopez's vast catalog of rock-oriented albums. Originally recorded in 2001, after the dissolution of AT THE DRIVE-IN and prior to the Tremulant EP which would announce the arrival of THE MARS VOLTA to the world at large, the Rodriguez-Lopez/Ward collaboration is a playful, abstract concoction of manipulated sounds and processed, unrecognizable recordings of household objects, everyday activities, passing dialog, and similar ephemera. Ward (who passed away in 2003), sound manipulator for TMV as well as a founding member of the dub-devoted DE FACTO project, was a fixture at the band's Long Beach compound/studio, Anikulapo, and arguably as potent a partner in crime as Rodriguez-Lopez's more well-known collaborator, Cedric Bixler-Zavala. Originally issued as a limited edition (200), minidisc-only release and distributed amongst friends, the album has never enjoyed widespread availability until now. Comparable to the work of minimalist composer Steve Reich, Rodriguez Lopez has stated that the album is representative of his concept of artistic freedom, as well as illustrating the cross-dimensional elements linking his various solo projects (namely the A Manual Dexterity soundtrack) and his more "traditional" work with DeFacto and The Mars Volta.

Pentemple - O))) Presents CD (Southern Lord) [SUNN95] $14.00
RELEASE DATE: 06-10-2008
***In May of 2007 thee mighty SUNN 0))) embarked on a Pacific Rim tour that included performances in Australia and Japan. The lineup for this tour included the core Sunn 0))) duo: GREG ANDERSON and STEPHEN O'MALLEY, plus T.O.S. (Moog), OREN AMBARCHI (analog effects and supplemental guitar) and vokillist ATTILA CSIHAR. Upon arrival in Sydney, Australia, Sunn 0))) invited one of their favorite black metal artists: STRIBORG over from Tasmania (!!!) to collaborate with them during their show. This unholy meeting went over very well and the inaugural ritual was a warm up gig at the Toft in Town club one evening before the larger gig at the Hi-Fi Bar (w/brethren: Boris). The results of this collaboration was a completely improvisational, vicious audio and visual assault on the sold out, standing room only audience! "Striborg really blew all of us way with not only his wicked vocal invocations but also his incredibly skillful drumming! This was among the first time that Sunn 0))) had worked with live drums and the outcome was completely unprecedented." The whole event was recorded live to 24-track/multi-track. Afterwards Ambarchi edited, sequenced and overhauled the EQ to make it as brutal as possible. This blackened low-end psychedelic war is not for the faint of heart! This CD release is strictly limited to 3,000 machine numbered copies. It will NOT last long.

Poni Hoax - Images of Sigrid CD (Tigersushi) [TSR016CD] $16.00
RELEASE DATE: 07-22-2008
This is the second full-length release from Poni Hoax, the 5-headed French pop/post-punk/post-techno/disco juggernaut. From the release of their first single in 2005, Budapest, to their debut self-titled release in 2006, Poni Hoax has been a living testament to the dark, cathartic power of disco and electro-pop. The band presents itself on stage as a rocking dancing machine, described by a raving press as a combination of Nick Cave and Giorgio Moroder. Maybe. Poni Hoax are not a local hype but an urban legend. Poni Hoax are not an infant disease but a tropical virus. Poni Hoax are not a soap opera but a spectral odyssey. Poni Hoax are not a placebo but hard drugs. Poni Hoax are a paradox. A Frankenstein composed of completely different body parts. Images of Sigrid was produced by Tigersushi head Joakim, who knows a French band is not just a French band, but has the capacity to reach supersonic speed and break all boundaries.

Prurient - Arrowhead CD (Editions Mego) [EMEGO091CD] $16.00
RELEASE DATE: 07-22-2008
Brooklyn noise herald and Hospital Productions label-head, Dominick Fernow presents his first release for the Editions Mego label. Fernow has been an active instigator in the power electronics and noise genre for well over a decade, with 100+ releases issued so far, usually limited and covering all known formats. Known in particular for his harrowing live performances where he uses his voice, amps, microphones, coins, tools, suitcases etc., to create a brain-bashing journey through mangled, negative sound. In this spirit, Arrowhead is comprised of three ear-splitting tracks of high-end quality feedback, disturbed vocals and twisted percussion. While previewing this work for release on a flight from Milan to Vienna, it came to the attention of the listener that an irritated passenger two rows in front complained of high-pitched whistling in the air conditioning. Such is the power of Arrowhead. Recorded in the winter of 2004 in Providence, RI. Finalized in the winter of 2005 in New York City. Guest musician: Kris Lapke.

Robert Haigh - Written on Water CD (Crouton) [CROU042CD] $15.25
No description available at this time.

Robert Pollard - Robert Pollard Is Off To Business CD (GBV Inc) [GBV02] $13.25
After amicably departing Merge Records after 4 albums in two years, this will be Pollard's only proper "Robert Pollard" full-length for 2008. At ten songs and 35 minutes, it's an extraordinary rock tour-de-force. Robert Pollard Is Off To Business sports TODD TOBIAS' cleanest and meanest production yet, giant songs and riffs that pack a wallop, and arguably Pollard's finest singing ever captured on record. For Pollard, whose albums normally run 15-25 songs, this 10-song work (the majority of the songs 3:30 or longer) is a departure from form. Since freeing himself of a band in 2004, his albums have each had very distinct and varied flavors, and his creativity has flowered.

Ron Franklin - Ron Franklin CD (Alive) [ALIVE0084] $13.25
"On his third album, RON FRANKLIN is messing with the blues again, though that's hardly all he has on his mind. Ron Franklin opens with 'Western Movies,' a tune that cops its title from an oldie by the Olympics, and its sound and style from Buddy Holly before making way for 'Call It a Night,' an acoustic number which could pass for an early Bob Dylan copyright in dim light, and while Franklin's Memphis loyalties shine through the cracks in both tracks, he manages to sound like someone who respects the blues tradition while still finding the space to play with its conventions at the same time. Nearly all the songs on Ron Franklin capture the man performing all by his lonesome, either on acoustic or electric guitar, with occasional overdubbed percussion while Franklin's reedy vocals and harmonica hover over it all. The results are simpler but more satisfying than 2007's City Lights; where on that album Franklin's challenges to convention sometimes played out like a hipster's parody, with less gingerbread his sincerity, as well as his imagination, are more evident, even as ghosts of pop, folk, and garage rock are plainly visible on the horizon and lyrical lifts from classic songs dot the landscape. Stark, simple, and subtly witty, Ron Franklin suggests this artist has a bright future as long as he remembers that less can be more."--Mark Deming (All Music Guide)

Satanized - Secular Chansons Of Satanized CD (Badmaster) [BM010] $13.50
SATANIZED is a chaotic noise rock band from Philadelphia, PA consisting of guitar, bass, drums, turntable and vocals. Scathing treble frequencies and heavy rhythms, alternately slicing and pummeling the listener, are made all the more freakish sounding by occasional moments of high musical complexity occurring amidst the assault. Edition of 500 copies.

Shindig - Shindig! Vol. 2, Issue 5 July-August 2008 Magazine (Shindig) [SHINV2#5] $8.50
"West Coast Pop-Art Experimental Band - the bizarre story of the greatest cult band of all time.

Syclops - I've Got My Eye On You CD (DFA) [DFA2186] $13.25
The debut full-length album from SYCLOPS, featuring SVEN KORTEHISTO on keyboards and electronics, HANNA SARKARI on bass, keyboards, and electronics, and JUKKA KANTONEN on drums, percussion, and drum programming. This album was produced by MAURICE FULTON. Little is known about the secretive trio. It is believed that Kortehisto, Sarkari, and Kantonen aren't all Finnish, but repeated attempts to gather any kind of a credible biography for the players has been unsuccessful. Despite the mystery, I've Got My Eye On You is an engaging record that reveals the full shamanic magic of the trio--a mixture of dark intensity and subtle, crafted musicianship. It follows and expands on their brilliant January 2008 DFA single, "Where's Jason's K?" Soaking in the band's brooding undercurrent, the listener will now have to imagine what kind of people they are and where they find their inspiration--heavy metal riffs over acid house? Playing folkloric instruments with old school analog synthesizers in a Finnish laboratory? Only the band themselves know for certain. Appeared on Maurice Fulton's 2006 remix of Hot Chip's "Over and Over" and on the Kathy Diamond album Miss Diamond to You (7.8 review on Pitchfork)

Tape Op - The Book About Creative Music Recording Vol. 2 Book (Tape Op) [TAPEBOOK2] $19.25
The second volume in Tape Op's anthology culling the best articles featured in Tape Op magazine along with features that were done explicitly for this book or culled from their archives. Informative, entertaining and all-around cool as hell. Includes features on Abbey Road, BUTCH VIG, JACK ENDINO, JIM DICKINSON, JIM O'ROURKE, CALEXICO, JOE CHICCARELLI, JON BRION, DAVE FRIDMANN, MAYO THOMPSON, TCHAD BLAKE, ANDY PARTRIDGE of XTC, ANI DIFRANCO, DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE, DJ SHADOW, FUGAZI, WAYNE COYNE of THE FLAMING LIPS, MERCURY REV, THE GO-BETWEENS, Toe Rag, WEEN, building mics and recording drums. Perfect bound.

Thursar - Journey To Jotunheim CD (Hekaloth) [HK421] $16.50
THURSAR's Journey to Jotunheim fuses elements of black metal and world music by featuring sinister growled vocals accompanied by acoustic world music instruments such as Chinese zither (Gu Zheng) Chinese Lute (Pipa) acoustic and electric sitatrs, acoustic and electric South Indian Veenas, as well as guitar synthesizers and guitar effects processors. The lyrics revolve around a theory that the "Jotun" in Norse mythology were actually Asiatic peoples. The lyric's story line deals with a journey by a group of Danish Vikings through an unfrozen Arctic Sea to the eastern coast of Asia. Thursar is a collaboration by members of the bands XYNFONICA and GLUTTONY.

Tombs - Tombs CD (Level Plane) [LP115] $7.25
Formed in January 2007, TOMBS is a collaboration between MIKE HILL, bassist DOMINIC SEITA (ex-SPEEDLOADER) and drummer JUSTIN ENNIS (ex-THE HEURISTIC). It is the culmination of Hill's lifetime of work, a crushing, soulful sound, inspired by some diverse, almighty influences: the harsh minimalism of Black Flag, the psychedelic overdrive of Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine, the emotional ice of Godflesh, the sinister rock of Unsane and The Jesus Lizard. The EP has striking cover art courtesy of COLISEUM frontman RYAN PATTERSON (Slayer, Kylesa, Anodyne). The vinyl version comes with a CD copy of the record. !

Transistor Transitor - Ruined Lives CD (Level Plane) [LP120] $9.50
Three years in the making since the release of their critically acclaimed debut full length Erase All Name and Likeness, TRANSISTOR TRANSISTOR have returned with a crushing yet articulate new album in Ruined Lives. After nearly two years on the road sharing the stage with bands such as Circle Takes the Square, The Fall of Troy and Fear Before the March of Flames, the band took a much needed break and began crafting new songs and fine tuning their brand of damaged noise rock. Occasionally leaving the practice space to road test new material along bands such as Doomriders, Disfear, and Converge; Transistor Transistor has finally unleashes Ruined Lives upon the world.

Trevor Dunn - Four Films CD (Tzadik) [TZ7518] $14.50
No description available at this time.

U.S. Christmas - Eat The Low Dogs CD (Neurot) [NR058] $13.00
Originally formed in the summer of 2002, U.S. CHRISTMAS has steadily evolved into a full-blown psychedelic assault. The music cannot be ignored. It hurts people, physically and mentally. It stirs intense feelings of pain, frustration, loss, fear, and--occasionally--euphoria. The band always plays at deafening volumes, and guitarist NATE HALL FREQUENTLY uses multiple amp setups for a thick, layered sound. Rhythm section TIM GREENE and JOHN PRESNELL hit the low-end, and MATT JOHNSON often mans guitar and theremin simultaneously. CHAD DAVIS is able to handle any musical duties at any time. Shows are chaotic and unpredictable, riddled with sythesizer and theremin spasms. Images are projected onto the stage, the ceiling, or performers themselves. Many a drunken bystander has been drawn to the theremin's magic antennae. Members have done time in THE BLACK HAND, SEVEN FOOT SPLEEN, HANGING ROTTEN, DEMONCY, SUBKLINIK, ANU, and MOUNTAIN OF JUDGMENT No exports to the UK and Europe

Unicycle Loves You - Unicycle Loves You CD (Highwheel) [HWLlX2008] $14.25
RELEASE DATE: 06-10-2008
***UNICYCLE LOVES YOU was formed in the summer of 2006 in Chicago by JIM CARROLL (vocals, guitar), JON POLLOCK (guitar, vocals), and NICOLE VITALE (bass, vocals); practicing a variety of songs Jim had previously recorded solo under the moniker, Unicycle. Shortly thereafter, ADAM LABRADA (keys, harmonica) and J.T. BAKER (drums) were added to the roster and the band played their first show in November 2006. Carroll crafts tunes and lyrics that can be simultaneously dark and toe-tapping. Hear a Unicycle song once and discover it has burrowed into your frontal cortex. Jon Pollock, after just a few mega-calorie-burning minutes on stage, has the appearance of a hallucinating shaman emerging from a sweat lodge. Nicole Vitale, Baker and Labrada provide a percussive wall of often bouncy, always novel punk driven beats that buoy three-part harmonies and conjure up tuneful artifacts of pop evolution from 1958 to 2008.

Various Artists - You Don't Know: Ninja Cuts 3CD (Ninja Tune) [ZEN150] $18.75
You know Ninja Tune and everything about them and exactly the type of music they put out and why and it's, y'know, cool and everything, but... Well, you don't. This latest Ninja Cuts is number five in a series of classic compilations which have studded Ninja Tune's 18 years of existence. And, like its predecessors, You Don't Know (over three CDs) serves as a signpost of both where the label family, including Big Dada and Counter Records, has come from and where it's heading. Now, one could wax poetic about how amazing the label is and how great the artists are and how this album contains new, old, rare and unreleased tracks, but the tracklisting speaks for itself. Includes cuts from GHISLAIN POIRIER, ROOTS MANUVA, SPANK ROCK, BONOBO, HERBALISER, THE HEAVY, DIPLO, DAEDELUS, AMON TOBIN, FINK, CINEMATIC ORCHESTRA, HEXSTATIC, COLDCUT, QEMISTS, DEATH SET, SIXTOO, KID KOALA, cLOUDDEAD, FOG, JAGA, ONE SELF, BIG JUSS, and many others. No exports outside the US and South America

Warmer Milks - Soft Walks CD (Animal Disguise) [ADR077CD] $11.25
"The second proper full-length in the expansive and elusive discography of Warmer Milks, Soft Walks is a unique blend of southern rock, improv and modern confusion. Features Michael Turner, Shawn David McMillen, Greg Backus and Travis Shelton (Cadaver In Drag), Paul Oldham (Bonnie Billy Band, Baby Dee Band, Speed To Roam) and Amber Kinglsey."

Wizards From Kansas, The - The Wizards From Kansas CD (Phoenix Records) [ASH3010CD] $16.00
RELEASE DATE: 07-08-2008
Actually hailing from Kansas, The Wizards From Kansas were an obscure country-influenced outfit whose debut album featured some fine versions of classics from the period, including Buffy St. Marie's "Cod'ine," as well as some excellent originals such as "Misty Mountainside," "Country Dawn" and "She Rides With Witches." This numbered, limited edition CD is housed in a unique gatefold card wallet.

Wooden Shjips - Vol. 1 CD (Holy Mountain) [HOLY21345589] $13.25

Who is Holy Mountain to keep you away from the rush of "Shrinking Moon for You"? Vol. 1 collects all the tracks from the free 10-inch, the Dance, California 7-inch, and the SOL 7-inch. The band will be out playing live, in their own nimble way, this spring and summer, road-testing new material for their next record. On tour this spring and summer. LP version forthcoming.

D.I. - Suburbia Sessions 1983 DVD (MVD Visual) [MVDV4718] $13.75
This early practice session at Sherpa Studio (Fullerton, CA) was captured by the staff of Flipside Magazine in 1983. It takes a candid look at D.I. just after they had been featured in the film Suburbia. Also included on this DVD is a self-driven interview with the band which showcases their light and jovial nature. It's quite a contrast to the issues they tackled in many of their songs which portray the 1980s as a time of despair in the Reagan era. For some this will be an opportunity to revisit where D.I. came from, for others this will be a chance to experience D.I. in its infancy for the first time.

Joy Division - Control DVD (Fox Lorber) [GEN1025] $29.75
Based on the memoir Touching From A Distance by Deborah Curtis, ANTON CORBIJN's Control is as near perfect a filmic telling of the story of JOY DIVISION and IAN CURTIS (played by SAM RILEY) as any fan could hope for. It's also a beautifully rendered piece of cinema about the crippling effects of love and regret, and the salvation we seek in art. Corbijn does a wonderful job recreating the Manchester band's music and live show, cutting straight to the essence of Joy Division's unique appeal. Credit must also be given to the three actors who portray the rest of Joy Division. Playing all the instruments themselves, they perfectly capture the band's powerfully stoic presence, one that translates both live and on record into the sonic equivalent of an existential crisis. Control, however, is ultimately about Curtis's tumultuous marriage with his wife, Deborah (SAMANTHA MORTON), and the way that Joy Division became an aesthetic manifestation of his pain--one that was both physical (Curtis was an epileptic) and emotional.

Low - You May Need A Murderer DVD (Soulmining) [SM002] $15.50
On several occasions in 2007, Dutch documentary maker DAVID KLEIJWEGT filmed the legendary chamber-rock trio LOW. In total for almost a month the film crew followed core members ALAN SPARHAWK and MIMI PARKER in their natural habitat: on tour, at home in Duluth, Minnesota, in their church community and as parents. You May Need A Murderer is a portrait of a band set against the scenery of modern day America, a country that according to Low is rapidly becoming a third world country. This high-standard documentary is more than an on-the-road movie or behind-the-scenes video. You May Need A Murderer shows Sparhawk as the ambivalent main character in an intriguing movie about religion, violence, questions of conscience and--whether concealed or not--madness, that can also be seen as a touching love story. Broadcasted by VPRO television in the Netherlands.

Patti Smith - Under Review DVD (Sexy Intellectual) [SI1043DVD] $18.50

Wire - On The Box: 1979 Amray Box DVD+CD (Pinkflag) [PF7TV] $14.50
NOW AVAILABLE IN AN AMRAY BOX!!! Beyond a few seconds of snatched performance, a micro-interview on Tony Wilson's precursor to So It Goes, and a couple of mime-alongs on Belgian TV, there is no footage of WIRE from the '70s beyond one item. Luckily it has been preserved. British viewers never got to see a live performance of Wire on their tellies, but Alan Bangs, who had the late night show on British Forces radio in Germany, crossed over to German-speaking media and by early 1979 was a presenter on RockPalast, an hour-long studio concert slot on WDR, already established as German's most important "serious" rock music show. Wire were old sparring partners of Bangs, appearing on his radio show every time they were anywhere near Cologne. Although 15th generation VHS copies of the screened parts of this performance have been making the rounds for many years, this DVD is the first time that the complete performance and the never-screened interview have been brought together. The combination of video digitally cloned from the broadcast master and freshly mastered audio eclipse the rogue dubs completely and permanently. You are now free to record over the nefarious bootlegs.

Graveland - Drunemeton CD (Forever Plagued) [FPR016] $13.50
Originally recorded in November 1992, this promo was released after the first demo. This was truly the beginning for what was to become one of the most hateful black metal bands of all time. Filled with absolute passion and disgust, this truly paved the way for the Polish black metal underground. Frequently known for their release of Thousand Swords, this is a nostalgic journey back into the darkest days of GRAVELAND. Although various cheap bootlegs of this material have surfaced and been circulated, available now through Forever Plagued is the first official CD release of this material in collaboration with the band. Set back before the hateful era of In the Glare of Burning Churches and Epilogue, this material is culled from two promo tapes released during what is arguably the darkest era of the band's history, an almost dark ambient style worthy of presenting for its historicity, despite any potential listener objection to the content in the band's other material. The layout has been kept as close to the original tape cover as possible.

Joy Division/Various Artists - Live Leigh Festival 1979 2CD (Interstate) [INTERSTATE10796] $19.50
A hand-numbered, limited double-CD set of the legendary 1979 Leigh Rock Festival. Includes entire live sets from JOY DIVISION, A CERTAIN RATIO, THE TEARDROP EXPLODES, and ORCHESTRAL MANOEUVERS IN THE DARK, plus a bonus track from ELTIFITS.

Mars - Mars CD (No More Records) [NO014CD] $14.00
RELEASE DATE: 07-22-2008
...The Complete Studio Recordings NYC 1977-1978. [Note: Mars LP is the title, but this is a CD-only release]. The Mars LP is the definitive collection of the 32 minutes of studio recordings released on vinyl between 1977 and 1979 by the most influential no wave band from the era, Mars (Sumner Crane, China Burg, Mark Cunningham, Nancy Arlen). Supervised by the surviving members, remastered from original sources without any added effects, and packaged with detailed notes and lyrics, the Mars LP is an effort to showcase the group's legacy and make up for the unavailability of these tracks in their original sound. This CD should be considered as an alternative to the still-valid 78+ CD on Atavistic - this one features all the original recordings as intended, with all the Thirlwell sound reprocessing of the Atavistic CD eliminated.

MEV - Friday CD (Alga Marghen) [ALGA073CD] $18.50
"The MEV group was formed in September 1966 by Alvin Curran, Richard Teitelbaum, Frederic Rzewski, Allen Bryant, Carol Plantamura, Ivan Vandor, and Jon Phetteplace. In the beginning they performed compositions by themselves and others which involved the use of electronic sound produced in real time, or `live' electronic music. In the summer of 1967 they began to work more with improvisation and less with determinate structures. MEV focus more on interpreting the moment, rather than constructing repeatable programs; creating meaningful rituals, not images; becoming involved with the process, the operation, and not with the result of it, or its effects on people."

Spherical Objects - Past & Parcel / Elliptical Optimism CD (Boutique) [BOU6614] $16.50
RELEASE DATE: 09-15-2008
The Boutique Label presents the first ever reissues by cult Manchester band Spherical Objects, active between 1978 and 1981 and the core group on the highly collectible Object Music label. Formed by singer, songwriter and dj Steve Solamar in 1978, Spherical Objects produced a unique brand of what early champion Paul Morley termed 'existentialist psychedelia'. Their first album, Past & Parcel, appeared in August 1978 and predated releases on other Manchester post-punk labels such as Factory. The second album, Elliptical Optimism, was released on Object in October 1979. The band only played occasional live gigs, and preferred instead to concentrate on recording albums, releasing no less than four in as many years. Spherical Objects (and the Object label) ceased operations in 1981, after Steve Solamar resolve a lifelong contradiction by becoming a woman. As part of this process Solamar even destroyed his own mastertapes. Since then his music has rarely been heard, and the Object(s) catalogue has languished in undeserved obscurity. However an Object anthology has now been released as part of the Auteur Labels series on LTM, which includes rare non-album singles by Spherical Objects and its members. The artist formerly known as Steve Solamar is alive and well, and lives a happy spiritual and musical life. Also available: Spherical Objects : Further Ellipses / No Man's Land (BOUCD 6616), The Noyes Brothers : Sheep From Goats (BOUCD 6615) (Steve Solamar & Steve Miro) (2xCD), Various : Auteur Labels: Object Music (LTMCD 2527), The Passage : Pindrop + Singles (LTMCD 2356).

Sugar Minott - Dance Hall Showcase Vol. II CD (Wackie's) [WACK1002CD] $16.00
RELEASE DATE: 07-08-2008
Lincoln "Sugar" Minott is known as the godfather of dancehall. Not only playing a major role in the story of Jamaican music as a singer, songwriter, producer, label man and sound system instigator, his voice appeared on pretty much every major roots, reggae and dancehall record of the era. He was part of the Studio One renaissance of the late 1970s, and started his own Black Roots and Youth Promotion stables, nurturing young talent. These key four songs and their dubs - slotting in lovers, bubblers and rockers, originally appeared in 1983 as a picture-sleeve 10" on the Black Roots imprint.

Various Artists - Weird Compilation 2 - Analogue Electronic Music 2008 4xLP (Weird) [LPWEIRDVOL2] $37.75
Inspired by seminal compilations of early industrial music such as The Elephant Table Album, Three Minute Symphony, Life at the Top, and the Insane Music cassette series, this collection of 39 tracks brings together 30 international artists united by DIY attitude and resistance to the virtual excesses of modern laptop pop. All have found analogue synthesizers to be the ideal instrument for producing raw, emotive music in a world where the human touch and presence is quickly getting clicked and dragged into oblivion. A 32-page book contains more than 300 photos, lyrics, bios and a statement of purpose entitled 2008: The Analogue Synthesizer as a Folk Instrument of Humanist Resistance. Analogue electronic music no longer represents a post-apocalyptic vision of an uncertain post-human future as it once did at the inception of New Wave in the late 1970s. Includes tracks from A SQUARED, A VAGUE DISQUIET (with MARK SOLOTROFF of BLOODYMINDED, ex-INTRINSIC ACTION), ANGEL OF DECAY (JONATHAN CANADY of DEATHPILE), AUDIODAKT, CHARLIE DRAHEIM, DEMONS (with NATE YOUNG of WOLF EYES), CARLOS GIFFONI, CADAVER IN DRAG, ENVENOMIST, EPEE DU BOIS, FLESH GRAEY DISPLAY, HIVE MIND, HUMAN PUPPETS, LED ER EST, MARTIAL CANTEREL, OPUS FINIS, RONIN, THE SIAMESE PEARL, PAX TITANIA, PRIVATE ENTERTAINMENT, SLEEP MUSEUM, SPINE SCAVENGER, STACCATO DU MAL, THREE TO FORGOTTEN, TOBIAS BERNSTRUP, VENDOME, and more.

Af Ursin - Aura Legato LP (La Scie Doree) [SCIE405LP] $33.25
Third album by Timo van Luijk (Noise-Maker's Fife, Mirror), die-cut front and hand-glued labels with gold print. Limited to 350 copies, beautiful production. "Van Luyck produces all the sounds himself on his records, which are finely woven together. He plays electronica to process sounds from a flute, voices, glass harmonium and on side two even, a drum-machine and bass guitar. Here, on this side, things are jumpy, perhaps even a bit Krautrock like, which doesn't sound unlike old HNAS records. But for the most part this record (four lengthy pieces in total) contains wonderful extended drone music, that is alike some of the UK counterparts, but Af Ursin adds a much more musical dimension to it, through a much clearer use of instruments and a likewise much clearer production. Great stuff for those who like expand beyond the `ordinary' drone music." - Frans De Waard, Vital Weekly.

Alex Bau - Diabolika 12 inch (CLR) [CLR022EP] $11.50
No description available at this time.

Animaltek - Ferocia Anima 12 inch (Treibstoff) [TREIB080EP] $10.25
"Between their triple ignition on Treibstoff and WIR and the preheating process that announces their album release soon on Treibstoff, Shay Raban and Oleg Slepak just add some more fuel to the fire of expectation. As the savagely entitled work accurately promises, the dancing soul is absolutely determined to burn on this new EP. However it is burning with a glow of an exceedingly cozy fire: the title track is a parcours noir through tingly emotional worlds. At first endued with syncope-accentuated stumbling blocks, the way to the hidden realm shortly expands like a sweet temptation which is nerved with some harmonically caressing marbling.."

Arbeid Adelt - Death Disco Limited Edition 12 inch (Play Out! Music) [PLAYOUT008LTD] $11.50
2nd of 2 EPs, features remixes by The Glimmers, Mayaku, and Jon daSilva. Cover version of "Death Disco"? Nope, it's actually supposed to be "a live cover track of Public Image Ltd's. `Fodderstompf' by Belgian cult band Arbeid Adelt." I don't think that's correct either, but shouldn't one be able to recognize a bass line in a PIL cover, wtf? "Play Out! Music commissioned five prominent musical achievers to take on these tribute remixes. Released on two separate vinyls!"

Astral Social Club - Monster Mittens 7 inch (Dirty Knobby) [DK004] $5.75
A new single by NEIL CAMPBELL's ever-evolving solo project ASTRAL SOCIAL CLUB. Neil (A BAND, VIBRACATHEDRAL ORCHESTRA) with assistance from KARL BAUER (AXOLOTL) unleashes two electronic psychedelic noise jams with distorted loops, cascading feedback and the sound of hypnotic drones recorded in space. 500 copies pressed.

Baaz - Few Days 12 inch (Elevate) [ELV005EP] $11.50
No description available at this time.

Baroness/Unpersons - A Grey Sigh In A Flower Husk LP (At A Loss) [AAL019V] $16.75
A brand new CD split between two of Savannah, Georgia's heaviest. BARONESS unleashes two long tracks of rock bombast that's been described as "Tragedy meets Electric Wizard meets The F***ing Champs." UNPERSONS respond with four tracks of genre-meshing crush (elements of death metal, hardcore, stoner rock, etc.).

Belleruche - Turntable Soul Music LP (Tru Thoughts) [TRULP130] $17.25
BELLERUCHE describe their sound as handmade hip hop blues soul, like Sarah Vaughan, Charlie Christian and Cut Chemist stuck in a dusty second hand record store with wine and a sampler, Belleruche make turntable soul music. Their sound is pure soulful jazz with scratches aplenty. They are influenced by everyone from DJ Vadim to Nina Simone to Hendrix and the result is an album like a weird trawl through a dusty basement full of the best records you've never heard of, whilst a voice you can't quite pin down sings hooks you can't forget. Their new album includes tracks that conjure thoughts of Stax Records recording Django Rheinhardt with Dr. Dre controlling the mixing desk. Or Erykah Badu jamming with Mixmaster Mike recorded onto analogue tape by the Dust Brothers. The threesome is made up of KATHRIN DEBOER (vocals) RICKY FABULOUS (guitar) and DJ MODEST (decks). The trio have attracted attention from luminaries in the UK underground music scene; with vocalist Kathryn deBoer recording tracks with DJ Vadim and performing with the Bonobo live band, and remixing tracks for labels including The Elephant, Trojan & Quannum. UK import.

Conrad Schnitzler - 00/346 + 00/380: Mixes 2 12 inch (Orac) [ORAC030EP] $11.50
This is the second installment in Orac's Conrad Schnitzler mix series combining original solo tracks from German electronic music legend Conrad Schnitzler with mix interpretations by dance producers. On this release, he provides a free polyrhythmic remix in the style of his `70s-era "Cassette Concerts." Thomas Fehlmann's mix is an epic, Kraut-rave stomper. As with the first installment, there are two original solo tracks: a menacing analog swamp, not unlike early abstract Aphex Twin, and a three-minute cosmic arpeggio.

Control Club - Facile Les Filles 7 inch (Diamond Traxx) [DIAM400EP] $7.75
"Fresh new single from these two former members of A.S. Dragon. Wicked twister French `60s pop that might well be one of this summer's surprises."

Crystal Stilts - Crystal Stilts 12 inch (Feathery Tongue) [FT02] $9.50
CRYSTAL STILTS hail from the same small-but-noisy Brooklyn pop gang as the VIVIAN GIRLS (of which the two bands share a drummer) and the perfectly shambolic Cause Co-Motion, If The Pin Group met The Jesus & Mary Chain and had a bastard baby that loved 1966, that might give you some idea of where the Crystal Stilts sound like. Other Music described this limited 12-inch aptly: "Primitive girl group stand-up drums and reverb-heavy melodic surf/rockabilly-soaked guitar lines, the four songs on the EP are the perfect amalgam of the pop immediacy of C86/Flying Nun and a DIY take on the spacious '60s sounds of Spector and Nitzsche."

Dalek/Ifwhen - Dälek vs. Ifwhen 12 inch (Claire's Echo) [ECHO17] $12.00
RELEASE DATE: 07-07-2008
180g 12" vinyl limited to 300. As diverse as hip-hop has ever been, think My Bloody Valentine, Tool & early Wu Tang combined with Massive Attack. As with all Claire's Echo releases, this release is LIMITED to just 300 copies worldwide -- 200 copies on 180-gram black vinyl.

Daniel Dreier - Ursus Maritimus 12 inch (Sender) [SENDER077EP] $10.25
No description available at this time.

Danton Eeprom - Ostalgie 12 inch (Change Records) [CHANGE002EP] $11.50
"Danton Eeprom is a name to watch! He is slowly but surely building a name for himself, with quality tunes released on Belgium Lektroluv, UK Delta B, and French Virgo or more recently, In Fine. This new 4-tracker is a synthesis from his sound which made his success in Berlin, quite particularly: a punchy and melodic sound, tinged with techno and house. `Danton's Bug' is a very appreciated track by London and Berlin DJs, with its mystic bass line, dramatic ascents and metal voices. `Flash Car Culture' is made for the dancefloor, a very powerful track with analog sound which sounds like a Booka Shade track with more punch."

David J & The Glossines - Bottle, The Book Ltd 7 inch (DJK Productions) [DJK1] $10.25

Drums Like Machine Guns/Mincemeat Or Tenspeed - Split LP (Badmaster) [BM009] $13.50
"This one nearly eluded me. My first two listens left me wondering what I just heard. My thoughts were not 'what the f*** was that?,' but 'I can't remember what that record sounded like.' Rather than dismiss it and throw it into the pile of Must Exit the Apartment, I gave this another spin. Good thing, as the third turn clicked. One of the things that makes this record difficult is not much seems to happen other than a hell of a lot of noise gets thrown around. The sounds are so relentless that on first listen this seems much more like an attack than music. Step away from confronting these tunes and the record listens pretty damn good. MINCEMEAT OR TENSPEED at first come off as a smart ass take on Steven Reich. However, as the needle grooves through, Mincemeat builds on the riff, shatters some rhythms, and shifts into new hooks. This is loud minimalism and full of all kinds of great ideas. DRUMS LIKE MACHINE GIRLS owes more to early Industrial noise than minimalism, but it to attempts to do more with less. For the most part, Drums succeeds and builds some pretty tremendous sounds, stuff that reminds me of what Slicing Grandpa was doing before that duo started ringing Sci Fi future metal. A record worth a few listens especially if you are hip to the noisier stuff on Load, Not Not Fun, or Deathbombarc"--Scott Soriano (Zip Gun)

Dub Taylor - Trickbeat 12 inch (Opossum) [OPSM017EP] $11.50
No description available at this time.

Eclier - Boxon Say Hello 12 inch (Boxon Records) [BOXON003EP] $11.50

No description available at this time.

Elon - Birds 12 inch (Dumb-unit) [DU042EP] $11.50
New York-bred DJ Elon is not only a great musician, but his in-depth ornithologist knowledge is so stunning, that Dumb-Unit needed a collaboration. Believe it or not, they managed to press a "Turkey," a "Chicken" and a "Duck" on vinyl. But don't be fooled... these birds can fly! There is no dressing or side dish to accompany the main course. This is grade-A stuff that needs no cover-up. Elon also has released on Klink Records to great acclaim.

Exercise One Vs Lee Burridge - Treat 'em Mean & Keep 'em Keen 12 inch (Exone) [EXONE002EP] $10.25
No description available at this time.

Fabulous Diamonds - Fabulous Diamonds LP (Siltbreeze) [SB89] $13.25
Adorably known to friends and family in Australia as JARROD and NISA, THE FABULOUS DIAMONDS' beguiling truck is a mesmerizing mix of synth, dub, and percussion, woven around honey-ache vocal stylings recalling (in spirit) past Aussie noisemakers Scattered Order or Makers Of The Dead Travel Fast, as well as those of Augustus Pablo, Young Marble Giants, and Suicide. Their one previous release was a 7-inch co-released by Nervous Jerk and Misteltone, and it garnered praise from the Blogosphere and a smattering of airplay on discerning freeform radio stations around the US. This LP on Siltbreeze has been in the works for the better part of a year; its release coincides their first American tour (along with Siltbreeze labelmates, Psychedelic Horseshit).

Fetisch & Me - Diskotecktonic/Black Palms 12 inch (Gigolo) [GIGOLO224EP] $12.25
No description available at this time.

Format - B: Split Pot Inhouse Mixes 12 inch (Opossum) [OPSM016EP] $11.50
"Opossum is upping the ante and throws in the highest hands of his own posse. Right after the Format's, Moritz Piske travelled slipless to Seattle. Now he's back with two extra suitcases of panties that were thrown at him on his tour, though he didn't even had to ask for it. Of course that has made his pocket rocket soar with the enhanced self esteem of his deep groove resonating each second. In a case like this, you better make sure your trousers are as baggy as they have to for their contents to fill them! In his `Humatronixmix,' Dub Taylor introduces the prototype of his very own man-machine which is obviously programmed only to march strictly forward and has no reverse gear at all."

Francesco Tristano - The Melody 12 inch (In Finé) [IF2010EP] $11.50
Three track EP with new remixes by Carl Craig and Balil (legendary 1990's alias of Ed Handley from Black Dog and Plaid). "What to say? Well probably nothing, as the sound files and the names behind the remixes simply speak for themselves. Including killer remixes by Balil (aka Plaid) and Carl Craig."

Frederik Schikowski - Was Hat Das Mit Mir Zu Tun 10 inch (Esel) [ESEL033EP] $10.25

Giant/Tides - Split LP (Level Plane) [LP110] $12.00
NOW AVAILABLE ON VINYL!!! While both bands share slower tempos and amp-worshiping guitar tones, TIDES and GIANT manage to strike their own course in a scene that is rife with boring clones and uninspired songwriting. Tides write gorgeously lush soundtracks to movies not yet made, filled with emotive guitar work, dynamic drumming, and huge production. The tone on opening track "The Invisible" ebbs and flows. After rising and falling and rising again, it crescendos into melodic strumming and pounding cymbals before finally crashing into lone distorted bass. Following is a brief but beautiful acoustic interlude that leads to the piano intro of side two. Giant's sole track on this record features the band's three-guitar line weaving it's way through both the heaviest of distortions and hauntingly euphoric passages. Echoes of reverb give way to enormous buildups and the most satisfying of resolutions. Commanding vocals and sparse keyboards compliment the twelve minute opus which concludes the record.

Gideon - Last Depression 12 inch (Kanzleramt) [KA143EP] $11.50
No description available at this time.

Giorgos Gatzigristos - Proper Latin Usage 12 inch (Wolfskuil Records) [WOLF012EP] $11.50
"`Proper Latin Usage' is a deep, dark and twisted electronic masterpiece. The track sounds like a ticking timebomb which doesn't seem to go off, but keeps everyone listening in anxious suspense to the coming events. On the flip is an excellent remix from Mikrowave, label owner and International DJ Gigolo protege, Kevin Gorman. He turns the original into proper floor-filling & bass-heavy mayhem, in the way only Kevin can. Not for the faint of heart!"

Glimpse - Elephant Skins 12 inch (Leftroom) [LEFT015EP] $10.75
No description available at this time.

Graveyard - Graveyard LP (Tee Pee) [TPE081] $16.25
Steppin' out of the woods of Gothenburg, Sweden and right into your head is GRAVEYARD. Graveyard's self titled debut resurrects the sounds of '70s psychedelic rock. The clash of folk, psychedelic, and blues makes for a mind-bending trip back to the days of Cream, Sabbath, and Blue Cheer. The classic vibe is evident throughout, from the masterful analog production of DOIN AHLSTERBERG (Soundtrack of our Lives, The International Noise Conspiracy, Jose Gonzalez) to the wah-wah guitar solos on tracks like the urgency filled "Lost in Confusion." The hard, blues infused opener "Evil Ways" features vocalist/guitarist JOAKIM NILSSON unleashing a Chris Cornell-esque howl, declaring "There lies a hole in my soul, that cannot be filled."

Hair Police - Empty Quarter LP (Troubleman Unlimited) [TMU161] $11.00
NOW AVAILABLE ON VINYL!!! New 2007 recordings from the BEATTY/TREMAINE/CONNELLY trio. Recorded in Ypsilanti, Michigan, January/March 2007. Limited edition pressing of 1,000 copies. (NOT AVAILABLE THROUGH ADA).

Hans Krusi - Ex Hk. LP (Alga Marghen) [ALGA023LP] $29.00
"While preparing a new edition of Anton Bruhin works, Alga Marghen discovered some mysterious tapes by Hans Krüsi. Fascinated by the raw and brut contents of those sounds, mixing field recordings of insects, sheeps and distant bells with primitive chanting, percussive noises and distorted radio folk songs, Alga Marghen started to conceive one of the most obscure editions in his catalogue."

Harmonious Thelonious - Just Drifting 12 inch (Dreck) [DRK017EP] $10.25
No description available at this time.

Hum of the Druid - Raising The New Wing / Braided Industry LP (SNSE) [SNSE072] $16.25
ERIC STONEFELT returns with another meticulously crafted album of crunching, crumbling, crackling modern industrial music. The sounds of metal and machinery and vocal vomit. HOTD constructs audio works of intricacy with such careful attention paid to timbre and texture, each repeat listen revealing a heretofore unnoticed detail or ten. For fans of Daniel Menche, Small Cruel Party, The New Blockaders, Einleitungzeit, Linija Mass. Black vinyl pressing with pro-printed covers on cardstock, pasted-on matte white LP jackets with cardstock inserts and 11x17" glossy posters.

Intertrigo vs. The Phat Riderz - Audio Fight 1 12 inch (Big Splash Records) [BSR001EP] $12.25

Lee van Dowski - The Last Run 12 inch (Bpitch Control) [BPC173EP] $11.50
Lee van Dowski presents an awesome statement called The Last Run. The Geneva-based DJ and producer has releases on well-known labels such as Cadenza, Soma, Dumb-Unit, and Num Records, to name a few. The title track is influenced by classic British Warp and Rephlex electronica, developing slowly and steadily with fat, organic beats. "Rave Da House" rocks down to the ground. The sound is a bit more clean and organized, but for this reason it's totally hypnotic.

Lithops - Mound Magnet Pt. 2 Elevations Above Sea Level LP (Sonig) [SONIG71] $14.50
The second Mound Magnet part from LITHOPS (aka JAN ST. WERNER of MOUSE ON MARS and MICROSTORIA). Elevations above Sea Level gives us aural diagrams of a large, hypermodern cities with futuristic vehicles moving around. The electrical ticking of fluorescent advertising panels, a thwappy airiness of the ventilation system, the rattles of trains and chopped up hums of distant roads, the mechanical groans that maintenance machinery starts up with, rain drumming on the stretched glass roofs of urban malls, the howling groans of motorcycles on city highways. It's not an ambient record by any means, nor is it purely musique concrete. It's rather an acid fulled hallucination of how to detect an idea of the future in the noises that surround us. Though he uses some of the sound editing methods like his contemporaries (and his own other groups), this doesn't mass into huge pools to make a statement; the basslines, hums, jolts and whooshes divide and multiply into sections like buildings and streets are divided, from sub-basements to rooftops, alleys and boulevards, by stories. Lithops' narcoleptic programming has a precision which holds the listener completely captive--difficult, haunting and highly enjoyable.

Odd Nosdam - Pretty Swell Explode 2xLP (Anticon) [ABR0083] $15.75
Inimitable producer ODD NOSDAM returns with Pretty Swell Explode, an enhanced two-disc collection (one album, one EP) of remixes, B-sides, videos, and original songs, including eight tracks entirely exclusive to this set. Here Nosdam compiles the odds and ends created mostly around his last two full-lengths (2005's Burner and last year's Level Live Wires), as well as a few choice gems from bygone days. The first disc is bombastic and beat-blown, and well displays Nosdam's impressive range as a remix artist. Two of the record's strongest pieces are remixes created solely for this project. The second disc is Nosdam's ambient EP, exchanging drums and voice for the fuzzy warmth of eight-track cassete composition. Accompanying these blasted sounds are three videos. Vinyl version has an exclusive locked groove. CD Street Date - 6/24/2008. No exports to Canada or Japan

One Last Riot feat. Paris Brightledge - Immortality 12 inch (Paranoid London Records) [PDON002EP] $11.00
"Immortality is the second release from Paranoid London Records and once again the label throws something unexpected out there. What we have here is one of the original Chicago house vocalists doing a cover version of a post-punk Manchester band set to a tip-top acid house banger. Remember Sterling Void `It's Alright?' Paris Brightledge is the guy who did the unforgettable vocal. He also has the vision & desire to do something different with a tiny underground British label on its 2nd release. Respect! The A-side is of course a cover version of `Immortality' by The Fall. The B-side has two tracks. `Making Enemies' is a dark, polyrhythmic speaker-tester, while `Sync 24' is a quirkier affair. The music is all analogue using three machines: 808, 303 & 202... nice & simple. Once again we press on 180g vinyl, no downloads and no CDs."

Oni Ayhun - Oar 001 12 inch (Oni Ayhun) [OAR001EP] $14.00
No description available at this time.

Oxford Collapse - Hann-Byrd 12 inch (Comedy Minus One) [CMO004] $9.50
Over the second half of 2007, the members of OXFORD COLLAPSE devoted themselves to capturing as many moments of musical inspiration as possible, be it in the studio or with their own crude makeshift recording devices. Originally, the fruits of their labor were to be culled into one all-encompassing double album--a Tusk for Generations X,Y, and Z; a Double Nickels for children born with ATM cards in hand--however, cooler, more modest heads prevailed. The band decided that certain songs worked better paired with others, and that these should be peppered to the public in smaller, easier-to-digest quantities, all the while orbiting around the release of their next full-length, BITS, due August 2008 on Sub Pop. Christened The Hann-Byrd EP in honor of actor/statesman Adam Hann-Byrd, this extended-player (limited to 500 vinyl copies and unlimited digital downloads) sinks its hooks in early and never lets go, classic Collapse style. However, it makes periodic stops for campfire sing-a-longs), teary-eyed ruminations on loves lost and gained, authentic grandstanding, and salty-aired tomfoolery over the course of its 20 minute running time.

Paulussen & Cali - Macchina/Bicicletta 12 inch (Lo-fi Stereo) [LOFI044EP] $10.25
"After their stunning and very impressive Lofi Stereo debut last spring (Sinistra/Destra) their new release breathes even more the spirit of Detroit and shows their strong influences by names like Carl Craig, Rob Hood and Richie Hawtin. Of course all in their very own style with quite a Swiss touch: relaxed and ass-kicking at the same time! No doubt: Paulussen & Cali are here to stay. Swiss mountain massive!"

Perc - Serious Moonlight/Cylinder Swing 12 inch (CLR) [CLR021EP] $11.50
"After his latest work on Kompakt Extra and for the Swedish Drumcode label, Perc is back with two powerful tracks that fits CLR's profile! `Serious Moonlight' on the A-side is a veritable stomping tune with a stoic bass drum that dies away in the break, just to keep marching in its original splendor afterward. Excellent and efficient. `Cylinder Swing' on the B-side builds in a similar way, but instead of culminating with its wall of sound into a climax, Perc always reduces the tension, to instantly `swing around the corner' with different sounds."

Peter Van Hoesen - L.O.C. 12 inch (Lan Muzic) [LAN013EP] $10.25
"Lan Muzic from Berlin number 13 has been produced by Brussels-based Peter Van Hoesen known for his releases on Lan. Remix comes from Philip Sherburne."

Peter van Hoesen - Trusted 12 inch (Time To Express) [T2X001EP] $10.25

Poni Hoax - Images of Sigrid 2xLP (Tigersushi) [TSR016LP] $23.75

"Label head honcho Sasse delivers 3 dirty tracks for the floor on the new Moodmusic Digital release. For the vinyl fans we also do a strictly limited pressing of this release. `Butta' builds up slowly with shuffling sharp beats and a deep bass reminding of early Ibadan style groovers , growing into a monster synth-laden orchestral orgasm with percussive elements flowing in and out of the mix."

Tickley Feather - Tickley Feather LP (Badmaster) [LPTICKLS/T] $13.50
"TICKLEY FEATHER are a bit of a revelation; trancey, elliptical folk/drum machine gallops that lilt with melody and feature these gorgeous female vocals. ANNIE SACHS has got a great one, especially in its higher registers, where she almost resembles Liz Fraser or Siouxsie. Hometaping sands off the edges roughly, but that makes it sound even more open and lost inside itself."-- Dusted Mag: Limited to 500 copies on colored vinyl.

Tim Toh - Join The Resistance Part 1 12 inch (Philpot) [PHP029LTD-EP] $11.50
"First 500 limited edition on red transparent vinyl! We are very proud to present the debut of 21 year-old Tim Toh, a fresh producer with such a huge talent and character in his tracks, we guess, we didn't hear for the last decade in house music! That's a big goal to claim, but it's also the reason, we signed him for a three-part series called Join the Resistance and this is Part 1."

Timo van Luijk/Kris Vanderstraeten - Costa Del Luna LP (La Scie Doree) [SCIE507LP] $24.25
"Second album. Lunar psychedelic improvisations." Features Timo van Luijk (zither, flute, keys, tape) and Kirs Vanderstraeten (percussion).

Tob Jona - Troika 12 inch (A.R.T.Less) [ARTLESS2195EP] $12.25
"The Mojuba sub-label welcomes a new artist to the family. Tob Jona is one half of the unique Sounders Department project. The guys are well known to the true Detroit-techno lovers. Way back in the 90's they delivered some of the finest tracks with that special Motown feel. This EP brings us three fresh and very deep tunes each with its own exceptional sound character! Be sure that every one will find his treasure on here: the dancer, the dreamer and the visionary!"

Tobias - I Can't Fight The Feeling 12 inch (Wagon Repair) [WAG040EP] $11.50
Wagon Repair presents an EP from Berlin resident Tobias Freund, a founding contributor to NSI , Sieg Uber Die Sonne, Pink Elln and Odd Machine. "I Can't Fight The Feeling" is forged for the floor with pulsing keys and a deep bass throb. "Beat Study One" boasts a filthy synth bass line, and "Go" is just as dark, with chilling synth and a tight cymbal loop. "Beat Study Two" features a tight percussive loop that morphs against stuttering electronic tones.

Dennis Wilson - Pacific Ocean Blue 3xLP (Sundazed) [SC5212LP] $41.25
"In 1977, Dennis Wilson launched Pacific Ocean Blue, the first solo LP by a member of the world-famous Beach Boys. Amazingly, Dennis - the band's drummer, surfer and all-around free spirit - emerged from the shadow of his older brother, pop genius Brian Wilson, and shocked the world by creating a heartfelt body of work unlike anything the Beach Boys had ever produced. Over 30 years later, Pacific Ocean Blue remains one of the most intoxicating solo showcases by a Wilson brother. Sundazed's vinyl edition of this lost masterpiece comes in a lavishly illustrated, triple-gatefold sleeve with the three LPs pressed in high-definition Pacific Ocean Blue vinyl."

Jah Batta - Informer 12 inch (Wackie's) [WACK615EP] $11.50
Two different dubwise versions of Sugar Minott's massive "Informer" rhythm - both chock-full of living dancehall vibes and Channel One-style deadliness. Little John was 12 years-old when he voiced this tune in 1983, straight to the head of all dancecrashers. Batta's cut is a different mix, bowing to U-Roy at the start, before switching to a more contemporary delivery. Sugar is in attendance throughout, almost as if the pair were taking turns at the mic, before the dub takes over.

Jandek - Ready For The House LP (Jackpot Records) [COR0739LP] $19.75
"This exact vinyl repress on Corwood Industries, is the first time Ready For the House has been available on vinyl for nearly 20 years, finally giving collectors and fans the opportunity to own one of the most peculiar, solitary, and strangely magnetic records of all time."

Spectrum - The Light Is Dark Enough LP (Subway) [TRUM001LP] $27.75
"Reissue of the sole album by this excellent British pop-psych outfit, originally released in 1970."

Sugar Minott - Dance Hall Showcase Vol. II 10 inch (Wackie's) [WACK1002EP] $11.50
10" vinyl version. Four songs and their dubs - slotting in lovers, bubblers and rockers, and well-charge dub, with great playing and Sugar Minott brilliantly focused throughout - which originally appeared in 1983 as a picture-sleeved 10" on the singer's Black Roots imprint. "Everyone played `Informer,' all the sounds," recalls Rae Cheddie, who remembers selling more than five hundred copies straight from the Wackies office in Soho, London. "It was international - a couple of boxes went to Japan, some to Mad Robbie at Fotofon." "Special dedication to all dancehall fans," it says on the label.

Various Artists - Bippp LP (Born Bad) [BB02] $18.75
A collection of French synth wave 1979-1985.

Various Artists - Funkhouse Express LP (Soul Patrol Records) [SP10124LP] $22.75
...10 Super Rare Original Funk Monsters from the Late 60's to the Early 70's. "Today, Soul Patrol strikes stronger than strong with 10 rare tracks from the `60s & `70s. Like the previous compilations, there are some gems now re-discovered, some surprises and some `ear-openers,' such as The Pacers' `You'll Never Know' or the ultra efficient `Why Won't You Say' by The Chantells and also `We're Gonna Make It' by New World."

Ween - Pure Guava LP (Schnitzel) [1255210] $21.75
A 180-gram LP reissue of WEEN's 1992 debut album for Elektra, their third studio album overall. It features what is perhaps Ween's best-known song, "Push Th'Little Daisies," which charted as number 21 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks and was featured on Beavis and Butthead.

Wilson Mckinley - Spirit of Elijah LP (Subway) [WILMA001LP] $27.75
"First vinyl reissue of this rare and highly-rated Xian West Coast guitar album from 1971, often compared to Rainbow Promise and Moby Grape. Simply, one of the best USA Xian rock albums ever."

Yahowha 13 - Penetration LP (Tee Pee) [TPE083] $14.75
NOW AVAILABLE ON VINYL!!! "Few people have heard of YAHOWA 13, which is a shame, because this band rocks. Yahowha 13 were a spiritual sect led by FATHER YOD, and were responsible for some of the most tripped out and divinely inspired music ever put on record. The band recorded most of their material totally improvised, and their amazing results almost verified just what they claimed: that they were in touch with God. Truly, no American band has gotten as close to the intensity and glory of Krautrock as Yahowha 13 did on Penetration, their best release. Cult-y."--Tee Pee
