Geometrik presents the first-ever vinyl reissue of Esplendor Geom=C3=A9trico’s Sheikh Aljama, originally released only on CD by Daft Records in 1991. Recorded between 1987 and 1989 and remastered in 2014 from the original tapes. This album captures an especially interesting period where the unique and characteristic rhythmic-industrial E.G. style, developed during the ’80s, turns more minimalistic, schematic, cold and rough, with sporadic influences from Arabic music and rhythms. Sheikh Aljama is an Esplendor Geom=C3=A9trico classic and one of the best albums of their whole career, which includes their hit “Sinaya.” Sheikh Aljama stands out for its incorporation of sonorities, voices, percussion, and Arabic influences. Limited edition of 700 copies.
